Hey guys! Sorry for the wait on the update.

This chapter isn't ver y long and doesn't have an AsYa interaction but it is important for the story to develop. I promise the next few parts will have a LOT of AsYa. 😊

Part 18:

Surya couldn't believe their luck. Not only had they managed to catch Siddiqui and Yusuf, Zoya had also managed to get them on recording admitting to a previous murder. There was more than enough evidence to put these men to jail for life or worse!

Asad, Zoya and Ayaan had arrived at the police station. They were there to play the recording to the inspector in charge and make sure that a charge sheet was filed against Siddiqui. Asad had also called his lawyer Raj Sharma.

Raj Sharma was the most influential and successful lawyer in Bhopal. He and Asad had been friends at school togethere and he helped his friend out whenver he needed it. He had heard the recording and had immediately understood something significant, which he would have to discuss with Asad and Zoya in private.

"Surya, so do you have all you need from us?", asked Asad. He was eager to get Zoya back home. His Ammi had left him many missed calls wondering where he and most definitely Zoya were. He hadn't managed to call her back but getting home and telling her the truth, now, was imperical!

"Asad, with all of our accounts plus the recording this man is going to find it very hard to ever see broad daylight again! Don't worry about it. You should take Ayaan and Zoya home."

Zoya couldn't believe it was all over. She had found her Abu…granted she didn't want to find out that he had murdered her mother and tried to have her killed but at least her past was clear now. She knew who she was and what had happened. While it didn't make her feel better, she now felt like she had attained some clarity.

"Zoya…Zoya I am so sor…sorry about what my Mamm…that man did to you.", sobbed Ayaan.

"Ayaan", Zoya went up to him hugging him tightly, "Ayaan, this is not your fault. You are not responsible for his actions. You were just a child when this happened…how could you be responsible for any of this. I don't blame you…in fact you helped me. If it wasn't for you I could have been dead…"

Ayaan hugged Zoya closer. He knew in his heart this was the woman for Asad…his beloved Bhaijan. She was warm, kind, brave, crazy, fun, understanding and so much more. She was exactly the kind of woman his Bhaijan needed and he was so glad that they had found each other.

Ayaan and Zoya broke apart knowing from this day forth they would be the best of friends. They were exactly alike and they were crazy.

"Only Allah can save Bhaijan from our insanity"

For a second Zoya and Ayaan stared at each other before breaking into peals of laughter.

"Indeed, only Allah can save him", smiled Zoya.

Asad stood in the shadows watching the exchange between his two favourite people. He had to smile at the warmth and understanding between the two. He had to agreethough, only his Lord could save him from the terrible shaiyaris and craziness that would undoubtedly ensue with the two of them…and he wouldn't have it any other way!

"Asad, we need to sit down and talk about something important…it is about Zoya", said Raj.

"Raj, why don't you follow us to my place? We will all leave now."

"ASAD, ZOYA…WHERE HAVE YOU BOTH BEEN?...AYAAN??!!"

Dilshaad had been worried sick. She had come home at two. She had remembered that Zoya was to meet Yusuf at the market place so she hadn't been worried. However, four hours later something told her that things were not right. She had tried Zoya's phone and had not managed to get through. Worried she had called Asad only to not have her call not answered…and Asad always picked up calls from her. She knew, then, that something was up.

"Ammi, I think you had better sit down. There is lot's to tell."

Dilshaad sat numbed by what she had just heard. Her poor Zoya…how could that man be so terrible. Without a second thought she hugged Zoya, like a mother would her child, she knew that HER Zoya needed it.

"Asad, I can't believe you went through with this plan without telling me what was going on. What if something had happened to Zoya…or you…or Ayaan? Did you not think your Ammi deserved to know? It could have gone so wrong. Allah has been kind!"

"Ammi, I am sorry Ammi…but we were so caught up…and…"

"At least you had the presence of my mind to call the police", scolded Dilshaad.

"Phuphi, it was my idea…and it was the only way", said Zoya still in Dilshaad's embrace.

Dilshaad knew she should be more upset with them but she was just so thankful nothing had happened to her babies. She wouldn't have survived if something had!

"Asad we need to talk about what this means for Zoya."

"What does what mean, Mr. Sharma?", said Zoya

"Well, Ms. Farouqui, legally YOU own Mr. Siddiqui's construction company. It was set up by your mother's money, which was attained by murder and fraud. You are the sole legal beneficiary of everything.

Twenty minutes away Razia, Siddiqui's first wife, received a phone call that would change her life.
