The story: Loosely tied ends and huge scope for drama, but not being played out to perfection. There are loads of characters on the show that havent been doing much from what they did at the start... Hence making the story move at a snails pace. I wont buy the daily soap argument as there can be loads of things that can happen on a daily basis without taking the story forward.
Some possible angles that can be explored: A little more emphasis on the Humeira-Ayaan story with oodles of sensitivity attached to it! Its evident that every act of Ayaan has a different effect on Humeira and she has taken his presence for granted in her life. Her elders think in her favour as well, but at some level the Ayaan-Zoya story also not taking any conclusive shape makes the story disjointed.
Talking of which, we now have Asad and Zoya's new found chemistry, post his asking her to get out of the house! Forced Eye Lock under the stars and a mitwa session later, one expects a love story brewing.
I am not really clear on why Asad would feel anything for Zoya and vice-versa! Whatever happened to the man who shed a tear after seeing her at the dargah in the first episode? Does he know and realise she is the same girl?
The pesky encounters between the two lack soul! For someone who has watched Geet, IPKKND in the past and has also watched KSG romance three different women on the same show, I feel he is grossly under utilised.
He is neither brooding, nor intense! He is just a character that we are forced to think is what he is!
Rashid-Dilshaad-Shirin: endearing and heart touching tale of romance that actually draws mee to the show whenever it does! Rashid's pull towards Dilshaad can be bettered with some more instances from the past, some more encounters that are not deliberate or forced. Shirin and Raashid though may be not of love, share a relationship nevertheless- I would love to watch that equation between them... Like for instance, Rashid hasnt lived around Dilshaad for 17 years, so he doesnt know Dilshaad has inculcated some habits minus him, but Shirin n he live under the same roof- the adorable mother of two could be good at something that she has brushed under the carpet, that only Rashid recognizes! He has stopped making efforts, and his lack of communication makes him a man who you dont really wish Dilshaad had since she would perhaps have met a similar fate had she been with him!
Maamu: we were told he is closely interlinked to the back story, but for now he only makes appearances to give stern looks. Why the girls in the family are scared of him, what he is capable of and how a man like Raashid could have possibly bowed down to his order to marry Shirin can slowly b established with scenes that show a direct tussle between the two men of the house that is not blatant yet subtle.
Zoya: is better than she was before, but she still doesnt seem to be making efforts to learn about her past, that she only remembers when she is kicked out of the house or is sitting alone in a room! Why did she stay back in the first place. If she is a strong independent girl, give her purpose. why does she allow Asad to yell at her? If she were good at what were doing even a man like Asad would never be able to raise a finger at her! Where is her friend whos scooty she took rides in? Was she created only for the promos?
Ayaan: Smooth on the eye! Sweet and adorable ... then what? Why is he close to his brother? Again, there is a need to bring in alot more awkward moments between the brothers where though they love each other-the father does become a bone of contention...
"You didnt have his love, but I didnt get to enjoy it either" is the mantra that they havent explored at all!! Its more than a month, some instances of why Asad is the father figure should have come out by now- it will become stale if dragged further.
Over all emotions: are just touch and go! I dont want to cry in every scene, but I am still looking for that one emotion that will pull me back to the show 24 hours later!
we have all lived around muslim friends, neighbours and people we know, and no where do we see a world filled with same kind of people. Give them some hindu friends, some sikh, some christian. Why cant there be a more real atmosphere where the day to day tussles and issues happen. What happens at social gatherings? How tolerant are we to people of different religions, caste and how accepting are we? We dont have to be radical in our thoughts, but we still can bring in angles that portray sensitivity of situations.
What would Asad do if his hindu/parsee/xian maid has a problem with her brother/husband/father? How will he help her? How will he treat her? How does a family friend who has been visiting you for years imbibe some of your life style and how do you look forward to their visit because they have something interesting to offer...
My mom always tells she waited for my granny's old patient who would always wear a sexy red lipstick, and she woul gift my mom one each time her's would get over since she would bring it from Dubai. Every hindu festival we send our neighbours payasam and prasad, while they make sure they do the same for theirs! We close the world around you and make it look like its a different setting altogether? Isnt Qubool hai about acceptance? why then narrow down the scope of your surroundings?
I am in no way bashing the show, but only suggesting some things that can turn this dormant volcano into a beautiful sprinkle of fireworks that will take people by storm!
Yes Qubool Hai! I know you can do much better!!! I know you will...!!!
