as in today's episode some boys were teasing najma by saying shayari and zoya came in and saved her by saying another shayari and insulting the boys...

also sometime in previous episode same thing happened, when zoya was at a restaurant with her sister and jiju some guys were singing songs and she started singing songs with them..thus embarrassing them because of which they ran away..

do you think this way of zoya's handling the eve teasers is right?
i mean in both cases those boys got scared (maybe because she was creating a scene) and left but does the same thing happen in real life? what if those boys do not leave and tease them even more?

what are your thoughts?
was zoya right?

i think in reality nothing like this happens..first of all no one teases back for sure because no one knows which eve teaser might be a rapist too...but all you need to do in such situation is be calm and if you have a mobile then call the eve tease number by police or call a friend and full time be in a convo with them...well thats the best i know..because it had happened with me too and i called a friend of mine..walk a little fast and also in group

I'll be honest...I've actually done this before...and the boys ran scared. 😆 But this was more like the first run in Zoya had with the first group of teasers.
I would think twice about doing it when another girl is involved. Najma has to go to that college every day...and Zoya is not going to be there to protect her every time. Who knows... the boys may plan a revenge on Najma...and it can get ugly. 🤢

What if they were some kind of a gang ? & they were armed ? What would she do then ? Tell them a dumb poem ? 😆

Her way of handling people is really stupid.

So, my answer is no.

Eve teasers generally dont stand in the way unless they are targeting a girl purposely or intentionally

in general they only stand at a corner and pass comments

best way is to ignore

but if they start targetting then best way is to tell elders

What Zoya did , if that had happened in real life would have led to a backlash. It could have led to targeting of Nagma by the boys every time they saw her

from general the eve teasing would have become particular

And right we never know which of them is a rapist

yeah i know but sometimes they might follow you in car in groups and thats when it becomes scary...but ignoring in delhi is like allowing them to touch you and all...well thats what commonly happens here so the best it to be prepared...yeah many people have told me to keep chilly spray,...but even that can be dangerous ...in such situations i think the best who can support you is almighty...because kab kya ho jaye no one knows

That's a little too general though, don't you think? Just because Zoya handled it like this in these two situations, doesn't mean that she doesn't know how to handle worse situations.

Plus you have to look at the context. No group of schoolboys, in broad daylight, and with an audience are going to seriously harass a girl. They're just being annoying boys.
Zoya's behaviour would be much different if she actually felt that these boys has more than a song on their minds. Or for instance, if she had met them in a darkened street corner. Obviously she wouldn't serenade them.

There's also the very real difficulty of getting someone to do something about light teasers like this. I get it. When boys harass you it feels awful and it ruins your day (maybe even week), but if it doesn't go beyond a few words there's nothing that police, and sometimes even teachers can or will do about it. Zoya is just giving herself a little power and control in a situation that is not of her doing at all. She's trying to deal with these immature brats the best way she knows how.

(1) We've all been taught to ignore them. But like most of us know, that doesn't work. They just get more motivated and think of it as "first one to get a rise out of the girl wins" game.

(2) Or, you get genuinely mad, and tell them to get lost (or some such thing), and that's when they get mad and insulted (because for some reason teasing is supposed to be interpreted as a compliment), and that's when things can get dangerous.

(3) Her solution, in this context, really is the best one. She puts the guys off balance with a reaction they're not used to, and she achieves what she wants. Which is to be left alone.

---
Edit: I just realized that their might be a divide here. If Zoya's from New York, she's probably used to situations like this being pretty light, and not very harmful. But I know in India it's different. So maybe part of what I'm saying is true, but part of it is also Zoya's failure to understand that in certain parts of the world eve teasing can take on a very different edge.

zoya's way of handling this is based on her being from new york city...i live in new york city and basically if you don't like any type of attention you are getting you can retaliate back this way...and it will work...there are always exceptions...but what i thin goes on in india (from what i have heard) is much worse and is more like an assault...and the situation is worse...and its always the girl that is blamed for it happenning...

yes, thats what my whole point was... what zoya does is effective, but only in this serial, in real life you cant really differentiate between a harmless teaser or a serious criminal type one...

anyways... i think the show's main focus is to show zoya's character as confident and more bold... hence such situations..
