Her way of handling people is really stupid.
So, my answer is no.
That's a little too general though, don't you think? Just because Zoya handled it like this in these two situations, doesn't mean that she doesn't know how to handle worse situations.
Plus you have to look at the context. No group of schoolboys, in broad daylight, and with an audience are going to seriously harass a girl. They're just being annoying boys.
Zoya's behaviour would be much different if she actually felt that these boys has more than a song on their minds. Or for instance, if she had met them in a darkened street corner. Obviously she wouldn't serenade them.
There's also the very real difficulty of getting someone to do something about light teasers like this. I get it. When boys harass you it feels awful and it ruins your day (maybe even week), but if it doesn't go beyond a few words there's nothing that police, and sometimes even teachers can or will do about it. Zoya is just giving herself a little power and control in a situation that is not of her doing at all. She's trying to deal with these immature brats the best way she knows how.
(1) We've all been taught to ignore them. But like most of us know, that doesn't work. They just get more motivated and think of it as "first one to get a rise out of the girl wins" game.
(2) Or, you get genuinely mad, and tell them to get lost (or some such thing), and that's when they get mad and insulted (because for some reason teasing is supposed to be interpreted as a compliment), and that's when things can get dangerous.
(3) Her solution, in this context, really is the best one. She puts the guys off balance with a reaction they're not used to, and she achieves what she wants. Which is to be left alone.

Edit: I just realized that their might be a divide here. If Zoya's from New York, she's probably used to situations like this being pretty light, and not very harmful. But I know in India it's different. So maybe part of what I'm saying is true, but part of it is also Zoya's failure to understand that in certain parts of the world eve teasing can take on a very different edge.
