Khamoshiyaan

Prologue

Preet's POV

It had been one years when I and Ishan happily got married, well happy for the world and family, we never had any husband-wife relation, I am a perfect daughter-in-law, perfect bhabhi and sometimes a perfect wife, but he always considers me as a perfect friend.

@ Flashback @

"Preet go and get fresh, you must be tired after all it was a exhausted day for you." Badi ma said to me when she and Ishan completed all the rituals. I just looked at Ishan once who looked irritated, it might be because of this hectic day.

"Yes bhabhi, bhai take her to your room." Sid said in a teasing way, really it was too embarrassing, I shyly looked down.

Ishan opened the door of our room, it was too dark, he stepped in and turned on the lights. I was overwhelmed seeing the decoration, it was decorated with flowers, I slowly stepped in.

"Preet, you must be tired!! Go and change." I felt a hesitation on his face, before I could say he went to washroom. Meanwhile I removed all the jewelries when I heard door's opening sound, I simply turned at the direction from where he came out wearing yellow T-shirt and white trouser, I smiled at him and went to change.

I walked out wearing a simple kurti and saw him sitting on the bed, he was so lost somewhere, it looked strange, I walked to him, "Ishan!!"

"Oh!! Sorry. You sleep here." Ishan got up from the bed, making me shock, Isn't he going to sleep on bed?'

He was going to leave when I asked, "Where are you going?"

"You sleep here, I will sleep on bed." He replied.

"But why?" I instantly asked, but he didn't give me any reply, he was trying to ignore me, "Ishan!! Are you not happy with this marriage?"

He just looked back at me once and when our eyes met, he quickly turned his gaze other side, I got my answer!! A tear escape from my eyes, "Ishan!!"

"I am sorry Preet. I know you will feel betrayed but believe me, I tried to talk with you before marriage." He was going to give a explanation, but I cut him saying, "Then why did you agreed for marrying me?"

"Preet, I was only seven years when my mom dad met with an accident and they died, after that day, bade papa and badi ma brought me here and they took care of me as their own son, they send me abroad for higher studies, I am so grateful. I never can repay the debt which they did for me. I got so much love from this family, I never felt, that I am a orphan. And then when they saw you, they decided to make you as their daughter-in-law and..."

"...And you couldn't deny it as you love them." I completed.

"Yes!!" He turned at me and continued, "I know Preet, you might be thinking, I am selfish as I only thought about my family." He lowered his eyes, he was guilty but I understand why he did this!!

"I understand Ishan!! And I am glad that you shared everything." I replied still hurt.

"Preet, I don't know whether I can love you or not but I promise you I will always fulfill my duties towards you and always keep you happy." I smiled.

@ Flashback Ends @

A tear escaped from my eyes, whenever I remembered that night, I felt hurt, it might be becaused my dreams shattered in a matter of few minutes but it was true that Ishan kept his promise, we are not living as husband wife but he always did his duties as a husband.

"Preet!!" I heard his voice and quickly I wiped my tears and brought a smile.

"Yes!!"

He was standing at the door-step holding his tie, I smiled. He walked to me and handed the tie, "Ishan when will you grow up? Still you didn't learn how to knot a tie!!"

"Why should I learn when you are here for me!!" He replied, I looked into his eyes. I know!! He still consider me as his friend, but I... I am a girl, how can I resist myself from loving him? He snapped his fingers in front of my eyes, "Hey!! Where are you lost?"

"Umm!! No... nothing!!" I replied instantly and I tied his tie and handed him his wallet and watch, he smiled and put his palm on my cheeks and said, "I will be late today!! Have your dinner on time." I smiled and he took leave.

I don't know when te day will come when he too love me as I did!! But all I know the day will come one day, and I am waiting for that day.
