Hello Everyone,

Chapter 17:

The next morning,

Pankhu walks down to the dining table for breakfast, where Avantika waits for her.

Avantika: Pankhu, after having your breakfast, come to the living room. We will be waiting for you so that we can start finalizing everything.

Pankhu: Okay Mom. Aren't you all having breakfast.

Avantika smiles.

Avantika: It's 9 30am now.

Pankhu: Oh... I'm so sorry Mom for missing breakfast.

Avantika: I know Adi and you were home late, that is why I told everyone to let you sleep.

Pankhu: Is Adi awake then?

Avantika: He is still sleeping. I'm going to wake him up. See you in a while!

Pankhu smiles as she recalls her time spent with Adi the previous evening.

Just then,

Adi: Oh God! Mom! Why didn't you wake me up?

Pankhu laughed as she heard Adi's voice.

The previous evening,

Adi: Pankhu, let's go for a long drive

Pankhu: Are you like out of your mind Adi? It's 10pm already

Adi: The night is long tonight!

Pankhu: Adi, the later we go home, the more tired we'll be tomorrow!

Adi: But Pankhu, after today, we won't get any chances for these kind of romantic drives

Pankhu: Adi, we have our whole lives ahead!

Adi: But we'll be married! Come on Yaar! Your fianc is calling you and you are arguing with him on cancelling such a romantic drive!

Pankhu: Okay fine, but we have to get home by 12am.

Adi: Let's go!

As Adi drove, he wound down the window and the chilly cold air caressed their faces. Adi holds on to Pankhu's hand.

Suddenly, it starts to rain heavily and Adi winds up the window. As they head home, the rain gets heavier and very soon Adi is unable to see the road. The car pulls over to the road shoulder and as they wait for the rain to subside, Adi and Pankhuri share their first passionate kiss!

Adi and Pankhu had been obedient lovers for the past three years and had never gone beyond a kiss on the cheek. Today however, was very different.

Thankfully, the rain subsided as they broke apart and Adi drives home, with the return drive being a silent one. They had not spoken a word after the kiss.

Today,

As Adi hurriedly made his way down for breakfast, he sees Pankhu finishing her breakfast. He smiles recalling the beautiful moment the previous night as his eyes meet hers.

Adi had had a sleepless night, wondering if he had rushed into the kiss. Pankhu being silent was killing him. What if Pankhu wasn't comfortable? Was that why she was silent? Those thoughts were keeping him awake from sleeping.

Similarly Pankhu had a sleepless night wondering why Adi didn't say anything? Was he regretting the kiss? Did he think he rushed it? These thoughts had kept her awake.

Adi decides to break the ice as he sits opposite Pankhu.

Adi: Good Morning Pankhu!

Pankhu: Morning Adi!

Adi: Pankhu, i...

Just then,

Preeti: Pankhu, are you done with breakfast? Our designer is here.

Pankhu: I'm coming Maasi.

Pankhu leaves from the table and follows Preeti Maasi. Adi is left behind.

In the living room,

Avantika: Pankhu, we will be picking outfits for all the rituals. By the way, this is Kriti, the official designer for Deewan family.

The rest of the day was spent deciding on the clothes for all the functions as well as the accessories. When Pankhu was finally done, she excuses herself from dinner and goes back to her room totally exhausted. She never knew picking outfits could actually tire her.

She reaches her room and picks her phone up when she notices 25 missed calls - all from Adi! She quickly tries to return the call but Adi's phone is switched off! She glances at the clock and notices that it's past 8pm yet she had not seen Adi since morning. Pankhu heads over to Adi's room to see if he was there.

In Adi's room,

Pankhu notices Adi sleeping. She goes near him, sits beside him and strokes his hair when Adi wakes up.

Pankhu: Sorry Adi! I didn't mean to wake you up nor stay away from your calls.

Adi: It's okay Pankhu. I know how you must have felt.

Pankhu: Were you there watching me?

Adi: I had my fair share of picking my clothes!

Pankhu smiles at Adi.

Just then, there was a knock on the door.

Adi: Come in.

Shanky walks in.

Shanky: Adi, here's dinner for you and Pankhu.

Adi: Thank you Shanky!

Shanky leaves.

Adi: Didn't you eat?

Pankhu: No, i was too tired to even eat!

Adi: Me too! I slept as soon as I came back.

Adi initiates and feeds Pankhu. Pankhu does the same and they end up having their dinner.

After Dinner,

Adi: Erm... Pankhu...

Pankhu: Hmm

Adi: I wanted to speak about yesterday to you

Pankhu: Adi, before you say anything, I think I know what's in your mind.

Adi: Really?

Pankhu: I wanted to say it was the best moment we've shared!

Adi: Same here! I'm sorry about keeping quiet.

Pankhu: I guess I was just shy

Adi: So you aren't shy now?

Pankhu starts blushing and Adi leans closer. Pankhu closes her eyes, in anticipation when Adi gives her a kiss on her cheek.

Adi: Goodnight Pankhu!

Pankhu smiles at Adi and walks back to her room. Adi was a true gentleman and she was lucky to have him in her life!
