Chapter 3: Shuruwaat...😳
'Pankhuriii...are you ready?' shouted Maa from the hall.
'Yes Maa, I'm almost ready!' Pankhu replied while trying to fix her ear ring which was unwilling to stay still in her ear. After all it was 'Pankuri's' ear ring! Like owner like ear ring...Pankhuri ki tarah hi nat khat!
She came rushing down the stairs being as careful as possible to not crumple her magnificent Anarkali.
'Here Pankhuri, take this thaal. Be careful these petals are fresh don't spoil them, and yes be calm & behave like a girl there. Okay?' Maa explained cum warned her.😉
'Okay Maa...I'll be very calm & well-behaved, I'll act like a girl, I'll be very sweet to everyone, and I'll be so good there that till the end of the day you'll get 100s of proposals for me. Anything else Maa...?' Pankhuri said sarcastically while walking out of the house with the thaals.
She reached there in an hour or so thanks to Mumbai's traffic, she almost fell asleep in the car on the way. After reaching there she carefully lifted the thaals with the shagun ki thaal above the phoolon ki thaal. She went inside the house with sleepy eyes; she tried hard to shrug off the sleep but in vain.
She entered the house and greeted everyone, she was welcomed very warmly. Everyone was so happy to see her as she was the only Saali of the would-be groom. Avinash's (Groom) family was a very traditional & close knit one. They liked Pankhuri a lot since Neha's alliance was fixed.
There was a lot of hustle-bustle in the house as all their relatives have arrived & the wedding ceremonies & preparation was now beginning in full swing. Even in so much of noise Pankhuri was still feeling damn sleepy.
'Pankhuri beta, will you please take the phoolon ki thaali upstairs to Avinash's Mom's room, she will keep it in the Mandir.' Aunty said handing her the thaal.
'Sure aunty.' Pankhuri said taking the thaali & thanked her in her mind to give her a chance to escape the hustle-bustle hall to go freshen up.
She made her way upstairs with sleepy eyes with the thaal in her hands when her dupatta got caught into something & ~
And there she goes again! She again bumped into the same person with those unusual coloured eyes. OMG, after that everything happened like a song sequence of Yashraj's movie. The thaali went flying up in the air while Pankhuri began falling with her eyes tightly closed. That was when a pair of strong arms appeared around her waist holding her securely. *Ah, not again! No no no not him please. Why the hell is he so strong?...What? What the hell what am I thinking & why am I thinking like this for a stranger?*
Ah, there she was peacefully in his arms while the rose petals now started showering on them from the upturned thaal.
Pankhuri opened her eyes to see those mesmerizing pair of eyes staring hard at her. She felt a her cheeks get hot due to the intense stare on her, she felt butterflies in the pit of her stomach, OMG all these things never ever happened to her until she bumped for the first time into this known stranger!
She drifted her eyes from his eyes to take a look of his face. That was it! *Mann, he is sooo handsome... Pankhuri how can you say that?* she thought. Her heart & mind again started conflicting.
She quickly straightened herself & looked around at the scattered petals, her jaws dropped at the sight. Her Maa's words flashed her mind *Be careful these petals are fresh don't spoil them*.
'Gone, I'm gone...My Maa won't leave me today! Can't you watch your steps? Do you realize what have you done, you spoiled all the petals. They were for the shagun now what am I gonna say to Aunty (Avinash's mom), huh?' Pankhuri shouted in his face.
'Ah, I'm sorry but I don't think I'm the one who is completely at fault!' he said with an amused look.
His sensuous voice melted her anger in an instant,*OMG what a husky voice...! What the hell is wrong with you stupid girl?* her mind & heart started off again. She slapped herself mentally & got back to him.
'Oh yeah? Well I don't find anyone here but us. So whom do you think would have pushed me to bump into you, Mr.India?' she bawled at him.
He kept on staring at her with intense look in his eyes and a very light & amused smile playing on his lips. 'Now will you answer?' she glared at him.
He slowly lifted his hand in front of her to reveal the secret of her fall into his arms. Her beautiful dupatta got caught into his wristwatch leading to those recent blissful incidents. Pankhuri's expression changed from that of anger to embarrassment. She lowered her eyes due to the awkward situation that crept up, thanks to her short temper.
He came close to her while she moved back a little. For the first time in life Miss. Pankhuri was nervous! He leaned in a little closer & whispered huskily right in front of her face...'Everything happens for a good reason!'.
Pankhuri's eyes widened at his strange statement, she quickly lifted her head to look at him when she saw him smiling. He removed her dupatta carefully from his wristwatch and looked at her again before walking away. Pankhuri stood there breathing heavily, clenching her dupatta. She looked in the direction he walked away & found him staring at her from behind a golden curtain. *OMG, what the hell is happening?* she thought!

'Pankhuri what happened? Jab se tum Avinash ke ghar se aai ho, you look lost. What's wrong?' Neha asked Pankhuri.
'Nothing...' Pankhuri replied absentmindedly while she removed her jewellery after coming back from Avinash's home.
She removed her bangles then the Kangans & finally her Jhumkas when she realized 'OMG, where is my Jhumka?' she said loudly searching here & there for her ear ring which was nowhere to be found.

He stood there against the huge French window in his room staring at the beautiful moon in the starlit sky and recalling all those events of the day. He had a very content look on his face while he watched the moon imagining the face of a particular someone in it. He opened his clenched fist to reveal a piece of jewellery...Ah' a Jhumka!
Her lost ear ring was safely resting with him since when she fell into his arms today. Her already loose ear ring got stuck on his sherwani's collar when she bumped into him. And he decided to keep it with him until the right time comes when he'll return it to her. He was deeply lost into his thoughts when his phone began to ring –
'Hello...?' he said.
'Adi...how are you my son?' answered a very loving voice from the other side.
'Mom! I'm good. How are you?' he replied.
'I'm fine beta, now tell me how is it going on there? Are you enjoying your friend's wedding ceremonies?' Avantika said.
'Enjoying? I'm loving it Mom. But I miss you & Dad a lot, when are you guys coming?' Adi said.
'We'll be there by Monday. Now leave all this & tell me...did you meet her?' Avantika asked curiously.
'Mom...' Adi smiled shyly & looked down.
'Adi...you are blushing! OMG I don't believe this. My tough guy is blushing. You did meet her right?' Avantika said happily.
'Mom I found her! Finally...she is right in front of my eyes after these long 10 years. It felt like ages, I'm so eager to tell her everything...Ah, you guys just come back fast! I can't wait' Adi said.
'Oh God Adi, your Dad is right. You are a Romeo! We'll try to come early my child. Till then you enjoy your hide & seek, take care & I love you.' Avantika said assuring him.
'Okay Mom, love you too.' He said & hung up.
He looked back at the moon & then at the Jhumka & said –
'Main aa raha hoon Pankhuri, taiyaar rehna...!'
