yea probably he got to know that she is confused in her mind about Adi.. and he wants to be her good friend..so wats the harm about it...

He is simple n straight forward... broad-minded in areas required... so he has fell in the trap of Adi's mama - that's all...

He will be the one to unite them both i feel...or make Adi realise that he loves Pankhudi & he has seen that in her eyes as well...

We will wait n see how the story unfolds.. but am confident ...Avantika, Mama, Mami, latka jhatka n her mom ...and Pankhudi's uncle is enough for all villaneous roles...and mannerisms..

So they dont need to make Shivam a bad person...they wont do!
