I mean hypothetically when they are under the age of 18, they are classified as boys. But yeah, neither is a wife supposed to be on pati sudharo abhiyaan, neither should the husband treat his wife like a kid with the whole baby shona jaanu jaap. Equal footing ka relationship hai, toh equal raho. Circumstantially you might mirror the older/younger gen sometimes, but you should not have to babysit your significant other.
