I think I read somewhere or heard it was her most ambitious project yet Ekta/ her team did not think things through .

Even Abhay only had 2 or 3 custumes when he comes from one of richest families.

I didn't know one of the rich families ( tea estate owners) could not afford clothes for there only son🤪

I think majority of the cast also wore their own clothes in certain tracks. Like Kishwer wore her on screen sarees in real life. They did it to save money.

And Chand Raichand was not only tea estate ka maalik, he owned hotels, resorts and the real estate also. 😆 Uske baad bhi only three Tees for Abhay, 2 shirts and 1 jacket 🤣 But I am glad Viv got to keep the iconic jacket, I hope he dons it once again 😳❤️

Ek hy suite tha jo hr waqt pehna. He was even poorer than Haseena and Abhay who at least wore different costumes at functions.

Piya being an orphan was more rich in that sense. Always different dressing, sometimes fancy too. 😆

Chand had one outfit, but they must've bought 2 silk shirts at least 😆 But only two ascots 🤣

Lol they were saving money, for sure they were on a tight budget. And since the Raichands were wearing black, no other colours and prints it was easier to save money on them than Piya 😆

Btw Piya's skirts costed around 250-300 rs and the tops were 100-150 rs back then 😆

And the fancy dresses the girls wore were around 1000 rs 😆

Research team were only concerned with copying TVD but Katherine's gowns were much more elegant ❤️ And made sense since TVD was 19th century Virginia, not Dehradun India 😆

Her gowns were really pretty it’s probably a mix of lack of budget and research lol

😆 Its sure is fugly dress.

However i think we can come up with one excuse for using gowns for indian princess. Its 19th century so india was under british rule and royal families probably adopted the british style for political purposes.

But then why did maithali’s father was not shown in tux is question so still a lame excuse . 😛

Ek excuse ho sakta h ki it was India under british rule so the princess most probably London educated wore british clothes like that salman khan movie Veer. But why was stable boy Abhendra wearing shakespearean shirts 😆

British rule ke time pe they used to wear sarees and all, very rarely western 😆

Only change was women were more covered and didn't show skin...after invaders got into the country that caused serious problems!

I am telling u, the makers were very influenced by TVD that's why Maithili got those cheap Victorian gowns while Abhay and Sid wore those white puffy shirts like Stefan and Damon 😆

Thats what i also said that may be british influence. Because the Indian style got affected with british colonial dressing style in 19th century. But even then there sure are inconsistencies
