Chapter 2 - I Live Because Of You

"Do you think someone could've stopped me?" Abhay asked with a smile playing on his lips that was telling the story of coming time

Jeh rolled his eyes. He was overcoming the fear slowly. Abhay words seemed absurd to him. He surely got lot of questions but he was sure that Abhay wouldn't kill him. Or he won't be ABLE to kill him.

"You are still a kid, Abhay" Jeh commented making face, he was tired of hearing same reply from him, reply that meant nothing. It was a joke. Or was it not?

Abhay chuckled with a mysterious look on his face.

"Do you know Haseena Raichand had a special man guiding her?" Abhay said taking a glass from side table and playing with it with his fingers

"She followed his words like a puppet" Abhay said "she revere him very much but never you"

"So what should I do?" Jeh said sitting on the chair where Abhay was sitting moment before

"He enter and go without anyone stopping him. In fact vampires made way for him. He seemed to have a knowledge of some really dark secrets." Abhay aimed on wall with glass as he spoke with his one eye closed

He moved the glass around and stopped aiming at Jeh chest.

Jeh shifted on his chair. He was having strange feeling about all this.

"You have really bad aim, Jeh." Abhay said moving his own aim towards Jeh heart "you missed her completely"

"What bullshit!" Jeh said angrily. He killed Haseena. His aim missed her heart but it surely took her life.

Abhay smiled. He sat aiming at him with glass. It was no threat but he could see Jeh feeling worried about it and he enjoyed his worry.

"And Haseena had really bad choice of friends." Abhay said "she trusted you but you broke her trust. She trusted that guy but she didn't identify him."

Jeh stared him. He tried to made sense of his words. Suddenly the dots started to connect.

"It was you!" Jeh said slowly

Abhay grinned at him. He took his aim off and placed the glass on table.

"She called me Rudra" Abhay said

"You played with your own mother!" Jeh said. He was startled. Till now he was thinking he would be effected by his mother death but he was playing with her. Means Abhay was serious with his revenge. Little did he know there was more in story.

Because Abhay wasn't Abhay Raichand anymore. He was Rudra!

Abhay enjoyed the series of emotions on Jeh face. He was slowly getting to know him. And Abhay knew the moment he'll know him completely he would lose all hopes. But an instant death wasn't Abhay plan.

"She wasn't my mother, Jeh" Abhay smiled "my mother died on giving me birth. Haseena was just a woman feigning as my mother for humans."

Jeh calmed himself. It was no way going to effect him. Abhay might play with his mother but he won't be able to kill him. He tried to connect with werewolf mind in an effort to bring them in his shelter and kill Abhay.

"She knew I had powers and her secrets. She was scared of me but I assured her that I would never snatch her leadership." Abhay stood up walking a little around and looking at Jeh to speak something

"Because you was planning to kill her" Jeh said, he was bidding time so that his force come in.

"I never lied to her, Jeh" Abhay sighed "I never lie in my whole life." Abhay sat on chair once again

"She was not the leader so no way I was going to snatch leadership right?" Abhay said looking directly in his eyes indicating him to speak

Jeh looked at him. He wondered if Abhay was talking about their secret?

"You made her the leader but she wasn't leader" Abhay moved his finger on the rim of glass placed on table

"Your strategy wasn't bad" Abhay smirked eyeing him

He knew! Jeh eyes widened. But how? It had happened twenty years back right after they failed to gain powers from Abhay. Haseena was upset and was complaining him for not allowing to get powers from Abhay. He was furious and disappointed himself. Haseena words were fueling him but he couldn't kill her at that time. He wanted to gain control on Vampires and he knew only Haseena greed would help him. So he shut her up with threats and came up with a wonderful plan. Vampires were deprived of their power and their leader. So they were weak and Jeh used it in his benefit. He hunted a few vampires panicking the others. Then He sent Haseena as savior for vampires by the treaty that werewolf won't hunt Vampires and vise versa with no condition other than peace. Vampires were impressed by Haseena and made her leader eventually giving powers to Jeh as Haseena was his puppet.

A perfect plan that went completely smooth for twenty years until his own friend was hunted down by vampires on Haseena orders. Or was it Rudra idea?

Jeh looked at him with questions in his mind.

Damn it why is everyone taking so much time to come here, Jeh thought.

"She started to believe my every word. She respected me but she never identified me. Three days! I met her three day prior only. She never doubted me in these three days." Abhay said thinking over the times he meet her, his disguise was perfect. Haseena never felt Abhay in Rudra.

The first time he was called Abhay after twenty years was some fifteen minutes back by Haseena only. It brought a lot of memories to him. His identity! His truth! His PAIN!

It hurt him! But no way he was going to show it to Jeh. He gripped the arm of chair but left it immediately. It would break and poor guy would get scared. Abhay smiled slowly.

"I said to vampires, feigning as one of the newest among them, that Samar is leader and he killed one of vampire" Abhay paused and looked at Jeh with amused smile, he wanted to hear his answer.

"You lied!" Jeh said gaining his smile "and here you was bragging you never lie."

"Did I really lie?" Abhay raised his eyebrow and leaned towards him

Jeh smile vanished. He realized what he was indicating. They killed a vampire a day before. He had got their secret.

"But you lied about Samar" Jeh said defiantly "he was not leader"

Abhay kept on smiling.

"Are you sure?" Abhay said leaning back "he was second leader but you used him as first leader because you wanted to be at safe side"

Jeh went pale. He realized Abhay knew lot more than he had thought. But again there was this damn question.

How?!

Someone is helping him from us, Jeh thought with finality.

"No one!" Abhay said startling and confusing Jeh "I need no one help. I'm not like you collecting the puppets."

Jeh stood up. He stared him in shock.

"How do you..." Jeh was in shock "who are you?"

Abhay shrugged making innocent face. He waived off Jeh question and continued.

"I told Haseena a convoluted story of they trapping her and persuaded her to order to kill Samar" Abhay paused "now don't say I lie. I didn't! 'They' was Abhay and Rudra not Vampire." He passed him a cheekiest smile

Abhay stood up in swift moment pushing the chair in air, his eyes glittered sharply with glory.

Jeh fell down as the chair crashed on his chest and air left his lungs making him breathless. He looked at Abhay in shock.

Abhay sat beside him on one knee. He leaned towards him.

"You shouldn't attack the opponent without knowing what he is capable of" Abhay advised in a whisper with an innocent smile

Jeh could feel his body shivering. He was numb by sudden reaction. He had just move forward to attack on Abhay, he never expected him to understand his gesture so quickly.

Abhay offered his hand for help. Jeh looked at his hand. He could taste salty liquid in his mouth. He touched his mouth and looked at his finger to see red painting them. He looked at Abhay with shock.

Abhay gave him a cute smile in response.

Jeh stood up stumbling on his feet avoiding Abhay help that instead of insulting Abhay made him chuckle. It was what he wanted after all.

Abhay stood up and looked at him. He straightened the collar of his cloak and walked around in the room.

"Ten minutes" Abhay made face "ten minutes and am already bored of you."

Jeh said nothing. He observed the cloak floating smoothly on ground. He was lost thinking about the strength Abhay manifested.

"Let's just finish it, Jeh" Abhay said stopping by the wall and leaning against it

"You can't kill me" Jeh said gaining his voice and courage "you used me to kill Haseena. You need my help to find Arjun and kill him."

Jeh thought it would get him sometime. His people hadn't reacted to his call yet. But his words earned him another laugh from Abhay.

"Seriously?" Abhay asked amused "you are still in illusion, Jeh."

"I don't need anyone help" Abhay paused "Haseena regretted helping you. She cried, you know?"

Jeh stared him. He opened his mouth to say something but closed it.

"I didn't want her to die instantly." Abhay said placing his one leg on wall and gazed at ceiling

"I wanted her to regret. I wanted her to cry for what she did and cry for helping you. I wanted her to cry for her life. I wanted her to feel the death every second before she die." Abhay said with anger on his face and his mind lost in memory lane remembering the brown eyes he never wanted to see tears in, and not even able to wipe the tears that dropped from it, right in front of him

Jeh took advantage of situation and tried to connect to his people.

Answer me, Jeh said in mind, where the hell are you all damn it.

"They are here!" Abhay said

Jeh looked at him with jerk. He still had that forlorn look in his eyes but the anger from his face had melt away.

Suddenly the door opened and werewolves barged inside.

Jeh smiled victoriously. He turned to Abhay and saw him staring at the intruders. There was no reaction.

"You shouldn't keep someone alive for so long. They become dangerous." Jeh advised with smile

Abhay stood where he was. A subtle smile came on his face.

"One shouldn't feast on the victory they didn't achieve yet." Abhay said in response

Jeh walked towards him.

"You will remain a loser, you know" Jeh said smirking at him

Abhay didn't look at Jeh. He was looking far away somewhere. Jeh was standing on his left side.

Jeh fisted his hand. He moved his hand ready to punch him.

Abhay knew it before he even planned it. He raised his left hand effortlessly holding Jeh punch. He turned his head towards him.

Jeh could see the ripple in his blue eyes. He was pushed far at the other end of the room. His people held him in second. His gaze stuck at Abhay.

"There was a wind" Abhay said still at the same state "when you threw that log. You was trying to scare her by throwing it close to her yet it went directly in her stomach."

Jeh looked at him. Surprisingly he felt no shock this time. Maybe he had realized it way before that it wasn't him who killed Haseena. It was wind.

"Time over!" Abhay said standing up straight and looking at Jeh straight "they are here, too!"

Abhay smiled at Jeh who stood clueless but then he saw. He saw the sea of black robes pouring inside the room.

"Attack him!" Jeh ordered gritting his teeth

Jeh thought it was going to be hell of war. He tried to came out of his people grip but they stood silently holding him. He got confused. Then he saw other werewolves and vampires surrounding him too. Looking directly at him.

"Do you know, Jeh, It wasn't wind!" Abhay paused

"Samar wasn't killed by vampires either"

Abhay looked at him directly in his eyes. He saw his eyes widened. He felt the fear gripping Jeh. His mask of courage was falling.

"No, Abhay" Jeh shouted

"Werewolf killed Samar!" Abhay said

Jeh was terrorised. He realized who Abhay was. The oldest story about the extreme power on every creature wasn't myth as he had considered.

He realized what was that thing around Abhay giving him strange feeling. He realized what Abhay meant when he said whatever he said. He realized how was he alive. He realized what that cloak meant!

"Abhay you can stop them... Please Abhay... I'm really sorry... Please stop them... I'll be your slave... Just stop them please... Please Abhay... I'll help you in getting to Arjun..." Jeh begged

Abhay smiled. He walked towards him. Vampires and werewolves scattered to either side, clearing his path. Two werewolf held Jeh from either side.

"I don't need you for Arjun. I don't need you for anything and you are my slave only" Abhay said

"You did everything for powers right?" Abhay said repeating his words from past

"Abhay please help me... I'm sorry... I'll do anything you say... I promise... Please Abhay..." Jeh begged

Abhay waved his hand over Jeh and an energy radiating from Jeh moved in his palm. Abhay eyes were glowing in triumph. He fisted his hand with jerk making Jeh feel suffocated.

"Your powers gone, Jeh" Abhay said straightening himself "what will you do now?"

Jeh mouth was dried. He had no power to speak or move. Werewolves left his arm on a cue from Abhay and he tumbled down gasping for breath.

Abhay looked at him trying to move his hand to call him but he showed no response. He watched him wriggling on floor. His mind remembered her, falling down on floor and looking out at him with pain etched on her face. He could feel the pain stabbing him. He could feel the energy surging through him. Energy of furry.

He watched until Jeh stopped moving. He walked towards his still body. Jeh eyes were wide opened. He didn't care to close them and took step backwards.

"Take him to the cave in Dehradoon Forest!" Abhay ordered while walking away

He didn't care to turn back to hear their answer, to see their reaction or to see if they would listen to him or not. There was no need to. He knew they would do it.

He walked away with his head high. He had punished the ones hungry for powers. He had took his revenge.

He stopped at the opening and looked up at sky. He closed his eyes.

Rain poured down forming an amalgam with the tears soaking his cheeks like a gentle lover ready for a silent support at every phase.

He won! But he was alone! There was every creature with him yet no one!

"She loved rain!" He whispered with a weight heaving his chest

He stood there in silence, with his eyes closed and his face turned towards sky, not caring for the tears and rain soaking him. He could see her in his mind playing and dancing in the rain. Laughing and giggling at him with the rain hugging her completely.

"It kiss away the pain, try sometime" her whisper echoed in his ear more than his mind like she was there telling him the stories of rain again and again

He felt the last drop of rain kissing him on cheek. He opened his eyes to look at the sky clearing from the clouds. He didn't know how much time passed. A minute? An hour or a day?

All he knew was he suddenly felt light. He felt lot better. Like the rain washed away the pain too. But he knew the pain wasn't washed away, it could be NEVER washed away. Because it was a part of him. Because it was Him!

His eyes returned to its glimmer as his face tuned void of any feelings. He had unfinished business. The fire in him was still burning for the final strike.

Arjun Raichand!

Abhay stood in front of the mansion. He gazed it for a long minute. It was in the outskirts of Dehradoon. A place which was a little town in itself and where residents of Dehradoon won't come.

Abhay looked towards gate. He frowned seeing Guards.

"Humans!" Abhay hissed

It calls for a trouble!

He could handle werewolf and vampire but not Humans. He had authority over any creature but Humans. He wasn't ready for a human guard.

"Why does he even need a human guard?" Abhay grimaced

He wondered if guard would let him go just like that? But then he didn't wish to be seen by anyone. Not in a place close to Dehradoon even if it had no relation with Dehradoon.

Abhay walked around the mansion. It was protected by wall and an electric fence over it.

A human could never trespass it. But he wasn't human. He wasn't anything Arjun might expect.

He smiled standing by the back wall. He was changing slowly. His hands were webbing. His face was changing. His size was shrinking. He could feel the change. It was painful. But it gave him another surge of power.

In a minute, he turned into a Bat with glowing blue eyes. He cocked his neck to side giving an innocent amiable look.

He flew in a second, with wings extended in dangerous angle. He flew around the mansion observing every tiny part. He observed the windows in order to see the source of any life inside it. Then he stopped by the window on back side.

There it was. A completely lit room with open window and a man standing by the wall. Even from the back he knew, he knew it was Arjun only. He could never forget those features.

He glided inside the room that he realized was a magnificent study room. He stared at Arjun. He glided closer without making any sound in order to see what he was doing.

Then he saw it. His own picture hung at the wall. Picture from the party of destruction. Picture from the moment he was gazing her with love and happiness.

Her smiling face and her sparkling eyes!

Her blood!

The life dying in her eyes and the body falling down.

He felt the pain intensifying and the fire burning brighter in him.

He stopped at a distance from Arjun. He let himself transformed back into human body. It took a minute.

He was sitting on floor with one knee and his palms resting on floor. He was looking down. It took him a moment to gain his power and bear the increase of his weight. He looked up, his eyes were flashing blue and a lone tear dropped on his cheek. He wiped the tear and stood up straight gaining his composure.

"Feasting on your victory of twenty years back?"

The voice made Arjun aware of his surrounding. He knew the voice. He looked at the picture with wide eyes.

"Abhay.." he whispered

Abhay could feel their was no surprise or fear in his voice. Instead it sounded more like relief than anything else.

"Welcome back!" Arjun said softly

Abhay narrowed his eyes. He watched as Arjun turned towards him slowly. There was weariness on his face like he was waiting for something from really long. He could see the eyes dimmed of any life. He watched patiently as Arjun observed him in silence. He wanted him to say something and he could wait for it.

For him, wait was The best strategy to understand someone before doing anything!

After a long minute of pin drop silence, Arjun broke the ice.

"You are The King!" He said neither surprised nor terrorized but with a sadness in his eyes. Abhay was the infamous King. The stories they read in vampire world and considered as the myth. The Leader having powers after death can come back to life by gaining the powers from all around. The powers that made him the King. King of the dark world where he had the power on anyone and no one can go against him even if he try to.

"You are faster than the other two" Abhay said with an amused smile

"They didn't expect you to return." Arjun said slowly gazing him, how much he waited to see that face again. Those blue eyes too but not in the state they were shading him. He didn't like it.

Abhay didn't reply. He was just staring him. He didn't need to question or say anything. He knew everything about Arjun and he realized Arjun expected everything that happened. In fact he realized Arjun was waiting for what was suppose to happen.

"I am sorry" Arjun said, he had yearned to say those words all these years. To him. He wasn't going to lose the chance even if he wasn't going to get any forgiveness. Not like he wanted either.

"Sorry for what Arjun?" Abhay asked with no emotions but he could see her in his mind with pain on her face. It was fueling his fire.

"For everything!" Arjun replied without moving from his place and without moving his eyes from him

"Don't you think its too late, Arjun?" Abhay said coldly

Arjun nodded.

"I was mad" Arjun said painfully "I shouldn't have done all that even if you killed my father"

Arjun felt a lump in his throat. He wanted to say a lot of things. Explain him all. But he knew it doesn't matter. There were no need of words. They both knew what he feel or wanted to say.

He made the mistake of understanding a pure soul and now he made him what he became. He felt awful. He felt guilty more than ever.

He observed Abhay. His eyes were glittering softly.

"What are you waiting for?" Arjun asked "you are just a step away from your revenge. Kill me, Abhay. Finish this story for once and all."

Abhay lips raised from the corner.

"I came for revenge, Arjun" Abhay said "not to fulfill your wishes."

Arjun tried to understand him. He wasn't able to get what he was planning to do. His revenge was to kill him then why suddenly he feel there was something else.

"Remember Piya, Abhay" Arjun said "I forced her to kill herself. I am her culprit. Kill me, Abhay. Kill me."

Abhay closed his eyes. Twenty years. It had been twenty years since he hear that name. The name that meant more than his life for him. It stirred the feelings in him that he didn't feel even after hearing his own name.

It brought back the flood of memories. He clenched his fist not wanting to fell weak in front of the person he hate.

Hold yourself, Abhay chided himself.

He opened his eyes. He could feel power in his every part. The fire was burning for the last stroke. A last pain it wanted to witness.

"You'll not die until I kill you" Abhay said "but Arjun I didn't come to free you either"

Abhay smiled at Arjun confusion.

"Abhay..." Arjun tried to speak but Abhay looked away

"I didn't come to hear your sorry story, Arjun " Abhay said angrily, he was pissed by the guy. He was pissed by his guilt. If he would've felt guilty before then she would've been alive damn it!

Abhay didn't let Arjun speak. He raised his hand letting the power radiate from it towards Arjun. His blue eyes danced happily.

Arjun couldn't speak as he felt suffocated. He didn't know if he was dying or not. But he felt the weight of power that made him look at Abhay with wide eyes.

Abhay closed his palm and smiled at gasping Arjun.

"Wha..." Arjun tried to speak but he was flooded by the power that suffocated him

"I got some extra power for you" Abhay smiled sweetly "it won't let you die Arjun but you won't be able to use it either."

Arjun was shocked. He stared at Abhay in disbelief.

"Why?" Arjun cracked, he wanted death not life.

Abhay smiled taking a step backward.

"I came for revenge, Arjun" Abhay said

Arjun shook his head. He held the wall for support.

"Don't please..." Arjun managed to speak "kill me instead..."

Abhay smiled. He was satisfied. Instant death was never his plan. He wanted them to die every second. The other wanted life so they got death and he wanted death so he got life.

Abhay felt the closing aura. Someone was around. Someone was coming. He could feel a very faint human smell. He turned around towards door. There was no one but someone was coming.

Abhay closed his eyes letting himself to be transformed back into Bat.

"No, Abhay..." Arjun shouted in panic, he couldn't let him go "I need to tell you something..."

Abhay could hear Arjun pleas but he concentrated on getting back to a tiny bat. He didn't wish to be seen by a human in a room where hung his photo of twenty years back. He felt a sudden disquiet in hearing Arjun voice that increased as he flew outside the window away from the approaching human.

"Abhay no..." Arjun felt helpless with stammering voice and increased power that slowed him as he failed to handle it

He wanted to tell him. He had to know it.

"What happened?"

Arjun closed his eyes hearing the voice. He lost him. He failed to tell him about her. His shoulders slumped.

Ananya waited for her father to answer but there come none. She stood in confusion seeing her father gripping his chest and leaning on the table for support. She heard some voices. As far she knew there was no one in the house not even guards and her father never used phone.

Then with whom was he talking and why he seemed so... Troubled?

She took a step forward but staggered backward as a bat passed by her. She was sure she saw the bat but she couldn't find it as she looked for it. She tried to look around but then she saw right in front of her an amorphous mass materializing into a fine guy.

She was shocked but not afraid. She felt a sense of protection instead.

She tried to look at the face as the complete figure formed on the floor. She watched the guy sitting on one knee and then turning his head towards her.

She gasped with surprise. She felt a jolt of happiness in her heart. She didn't know the reason but she felt good to see the guy.

Abhay Raichand!

He was back. It so felt like a fairy tale to Ananya as she watched the guy she tried to know once and the guy she couldn't forgive her father for.

Abhay watched the girl with increasing pain. He could feel the different emotions he never felt before.

He had flew out sometimes back but something held him back. He wanted to see who the human was with Arjun so he watched from outside the window as a girl entered. The moment he saw her, he knew it. He knew who she was. He couldn't believe his fate. He couldn't control his powers as the emotions overpowered him so he glided instead in a second and then he knew he was returning back to his original shape but he didn't care. All his heart cared was for the girl. All he could think about was her. He didn't even think how will she react seeing him changing from a bat to a human. He was just too engrossed in his own emotions to think anything else.

Now as he stood facing her in his human form he didn't care to think about the consequences. He didn't even turn to Arjun to confirm because he knew it. He could feel it already. He could feel the connection and he didn't need to confirm from some murderer.

He took slow steps with a heavy heart. He was happy but he was pained too.

Ananya watched as he walked towards her. She didn't look at her father for any answer or anything. She didn't question how was he alive because the day she heard his story, she prayed so much for him to be alive and no way she was going to question the existence she so wanted to happen.

But what confused her was the series of emotions on his face and a strong feeling in her own heart.

She watched his eyes that were blue not gray as she had saw in picture. But the blueness of his eyes was dimming.

She looked as he raised his hand towards her. She looked at his hand asking for her. She felt an increase feeling of love. The little place in her life that always felt something incomplete even with Arjun suddenly started to fill as she touched his hand that gave her the warmth and intense feeling of being home.

He was looking at her with fear and expectation. He knew she would feel him. He knew she was feeling it when there was no word exchanged but lot of things said.

He wanted to tell her everything and He wanted to know her but he stopped. He turned back to look at Arjun.

"I forgive you, Arjun" Abhay said softly "but I won't free you."

Abhay turned towards Ananya.

"Ananya" Abhay said with questioning glance

She nodded and he smiled with tears in his eyes.

"Will you.. come with me?" Abhay asked "I want to show you something"

Ananya blinked her eyes trying to believe it was real. She felt like being close to someone she was part of. She gave him a nod.

Abhay held his hand and walked forward. She followed him silently.

They walked out of the mansion and turned to the forest. Ananya didn't understand anything but she didn't question anything either. She was feeling peace even in chaos. She was feeling an urge to be with him and to listen to him. She felt like her life was going to be complete.

Abhay walked in a ruin with Ananya following her. Moonlight fall on him as he stood under the open roof with four walls. He gazed at the wall and left Ananya hand.

"Do you see her?" Abhay asked softly gazing at the wall with a longing in his eyes

Ananaya stepped from him and walked to the wall. There was something on it. She squinted her eyes to see in the dark. A girl face. With a beautiful smile. Painted on the wall.

She gazed it for a long time. Feeling the same pull once again she felt seeing him. She walked close to it and touched the face with her trembling fingers.

It was so like her but not her. Who was she? Who was she to her?

Abhay watched with love and pain blended. The face on the wall and the figure standing by her. His heart broke into million pieces. His eyes filled up. He could've a perfect family but he lost it.

He gazed as she turned to him with the face behind her. They looked so same. The two pair of brown eyes just varying in shade were gazing at him from the dark and his heart broke at the feeling.

"She is her, right?" Ananya asked softly

"She gave her life for her baby and me. She saved her baby and me." Abhay paused as tears chocked him "But I couldn't save her"

Ananya froze. She gazed at him and then turned to the wall. She watched in silence. The fog was clearing. She heard the muffled sobs and turned back to him. He was on his knees crying like a baby. She walked towards him coming out of the darkness and sat beside him under the moonlight.

"I live because of her" He muttered "she fulfilled every promise but I failed at every step. I failed every promise. I failed her."

"You are my real father" it wasn't question nor a statement but the truth that they felt on seeing each other

Abhay looked at her. Ananya could see the flecks of gray in the blueness of his eyes.

"I'm sorry..." Abhay whispered with pain, he felt guilty for not finding her before, for not feeling her before.

Her soft hands wiped his tears and he looked at her. The last touch he ever felt was of her mother. Same. Loving and soft. He realized she was so like her mother and he felt another stabbing pain remembering her. He felt suffocated. He lost her. He lost his Piya. He lost his daughter childhood. He lost the moments he would've spent with the only sign of His Piya. He lost so much in life.

"Don't cry, father" Ananya said softly with love "it wasn't your fault"

Abhay felt a surge of happiness hearing father. He so wished to hear it all those years. He never thought he would hear it after what happened. But then there was the guilt. Guilt of not finding her. Guilt of not understanding what Piya was telling her years back. Guilt of not saving her.

Abhay let out a painful sigh.

"I failed to protect you both" Abhay whispered looking at the sky where moon stood watching him

"So bring her now" Ananya said jerking Abhay to look at her in astonishment

"I can never bring her back" Abhay said painfully

"But you have powers, father" Ananya said holding his hand

Abhay shook his head.

"My powers can't bring her back" Abhay said with lump in his throat, he felt useless.

"There was a story" Ananya said after a moment "that a true love can give life. Your love can bring mother back."

Abhay smiled wistfully.

"They are stories!" Abhay said moving his hand in her hair with affection trying to make her understand the depth of the reality

"Vampires were story too" Ananya said startling Abhay

"Maybe you will be able to bring her back" Ananya said

Abhay watched his daughter in silence. He could see the same yearning in her eyes for a family that he had

"We live because of her, right?" Ananya said, her brain racing with ideas and theories gaining the gist from every fantasy she read or heard with an expectation

"Maybe she can live because of us too?" Ananya added with a hope tingling in her eyes, she had spent nights thinking about this incomplete love story and now when she realized she was the part of it, she wanted to complete it anyhow

"Mother had said I have powers to protect her. She had said we are connected. Maybe I can do something. Maybe your love and I can bring her back." Ananya insisted

Abhay gazed her open mouth. He didn't know what to say. His heart started to hope that maybe it could happen that maybe His daughter was right. He didn't understand Piya words years back and he missed so much. How much strange it was maybe it was possible whatever Ananya was saying.

He too got life after twenty years. He spent twenty years as a shadow, as a soul wandering with the air. It took him twenty years to gain the powers and gain this life. His body died twenty years back but his soul was alive that gave him this new body and new life maybe same could happen with Piya too.

Besides, Ananya would've those powers she was gifted. It would be dormant somewhere in her. And she was connected to Piya. So maybe she could bring Piya by activating her powers.

But was he ready for it? It was the game of powers. Was he ready for the powers to interfere in his life once again. The powers that caused all this chaos.

"You have to fulfill your promise, father!" Ananya said breaking his reverie "your promises, father. Don't you want to complete them?"

Ananya became confident on seeing Her father dilemma. Maybe there was chance. Maybe some fantasises had truth in them. Maybe she could live the fairy tales she always dreamed.

She could see the change in his eyes with every emotion and every thought. She realized they were changing color at every second like they were alive.

"Let's bring mother back, Father" Ananya said ever so softly and with love that it melted Abhay

He looked at her for a moment and then nodded bringing a smile on her face.

"You have her smile!" Abhay said "and her belief!"

"Maybe because I'm connected to her* Ananya said with smile

Suddenly it came in her mind.

"Do I have your powers too?" Ananya asked with enthusiasm

"Maybe!" Abhay shrugged

"Let's try it then" Ananya said with excitement "let's just go for mother"

Ananya paused. She looked around and then towards Abhay.

"But from where?" Ananya asked

Abhay eyes turned dark blue.

Ananya thought the blue shade in his eyes for the fury he was living with.

"From where it started" Abhay said grimly, he just hoped his daughter don't meet disappointment

Ananya stood up.

Abhay stood up too and Ananya held his hand with smile. Both of their heart warming with a feeling of family and yet a feeling of incompleteness pricking them.

Abhay guided Ananya as they walk cherishing the love they were suddenly feeling.

"Father" Ananya called there was a hesitation "did you forgive Him for me?"

Ananya felt a strange sensation as she questioned. She was questioning about the person she considered her father to the person she didn't know three days back but was her real father.

Abhay sighed. Arjun really did a favour on him by saving Ananya. He could see the flashes of what happened due to his powers. Piya died and became a smoke due to Abhay but Ananya was a fetus having powers who could've lived by getting a vampire blood and Arjun gave her that blood not wanting to kill an innocent soul who didn't come in world. It was later he realized he wronged Abhay but felt good to save Ananya. He named it Ananya because he had once said to Arjun in a playful talk that he loved that name.

His trust on Arjun wasn't completely deceived in that case.

At least he did something worth for forgiveness yet Abhay knew he won't feel peace because even forgiveness would kill him every second.

"I didn't kill anyone, Ananya" Abhay said thinking everything he did. He just met his daughter how would his daughter feel if he had killed them all? How would Piya have reacted to it?

"They did everything for powers so I just took their powers. They thought they were dying so instead of gathering the human strength they begged to me and killed themselves." Abhay explained recalling how in their illusion of being killed they actually killed themselves. It was dark world truth if someone lost their powers and think they are dying they would die and if they know they can stand it and fight for life they would live. But Haseena and Jeh didn't know what he was doing to them so they didn't fight for life and died. Haseena would have lived as human even after that fatal log that he stabbed her becoming a BAT but she didn't realize her powers were gone so she died too in oblivious.

Abhat looked at Ananya and saw the question in her eyes. She wanted to know about Arjun.

"I can feel the fluctuation in auras and can pick the minds easily. I realised he wanted to die. He was waiting for his salvation from the sin he committed. I gave him the powers as my revenge and forgiveness for what he did for you." Abhay said clearing the confusion

"They deserve it" Ananya said strongly, she could feel the anger bubbling in her. She was surprised of herself but maybe it wasn't surprising. They killed and scattered her family and identity.

Abhay glanced over her. He was surely not expecting that answer. But he smiled slightly. It was Serene. To walk with his daughter in the forest he roamed all alone in his life. The soft wind was soothing. There was only one pain. The last link.

Piya!

Abhay stopped. He left Ananya hand. Ananya looked at him confused.

"This is it!" Abhay said staring ahead

Ananya followed his gaze and saw the cave of Dehradoon forest. She felt something strange looking at it.

It was the place they lost each other!

They walked inside. There was silence. The cave was empty. Abhay could feel they did their job. Jeh body was dragged here and they buried him right where Haseena died and right where he lost his everything.

"What are we going to do?" Ananya questioned, she didn't think about it.

How were they going to start? Do they need to perform some ritual or do something or say something? She didn't have the idea.

Abhay didn't say anything. He watched the place with his mind recalling that gruesome night.

"I became a drifting soul so maybe she too... If only her soul can gather the power to gain the body. But she don't have powers." Abhay said thoughtfully, remembering how it took him twenty years to return and how he returned with the powers that had no boundaries.

Would she be able to do it? She was human. Abhay was feeling a dull ache in his heart. Heart! That didn't beat but feel everything.

Ananya looked at him.

"Will she have powers when she will return?" Ananya asked

"Maybe!" Abhay shrugged gazing at the place she took her last breath

"I... Lo..ve you Ab..hay..." Her last words echoed in his ears killing him every second

"Is it the place?" Ananya asked pointing at the place he was gazing, she didn't dare to explain the question it was too heartbreaking to be said in words

Abhay gulped and nodded slowly.

Ananya gazed it. She touched her chest over her heart demanding in her mind to her hear to show her the path. She always did it in confusion. Her heart always showed her the right path. She always awed the fact but now she knew somewhere it were the powers guiding her. Yes, she believe she had powers.

Show me the way, she thought with worry. She came this far she wanted results.

As if someone whispered to her heart, she knew what she had to do and she was confident it was the way.

Mother said I can take care of her, Ananya motivated herself.

Ananya held Abhay hand. He looked at her with questioning glance.

"We will bring her back" Ananya said strongly

This time Ananya walked ahead. She sat on the place, Abhay said she died, and pulled Abhay to sit beside her. He sat without any questions but with pain in his eyes.

Ananya closed her eyes touching her heart with her left hand and gripping Abhay left hand tightly by her right hand.

Abhay let the tears dropped from his eyes and fell on the place she died. All the memories rushed back to him. Her pain kept on stabbing his heart so much time that he felt suffocated and weak. His shoulders slumped like losing every bit of power.

He was the reason she died. His breath was the reason her breath stopped. His dead heart was the reason her heart became dead. He was the reason of her sufferings. He killed her.

He killed her! He killed the person he love. He killed the person who loved her to death. He killed the person who protected their sign and him. He was the reason! He was the killer!

A painful whimper escaped his mouth. He couldn't stand the searing pain in his chest. It was like losing her all over again.

"No" he shouted placing his hands on floor for support, his head fall in defeat and pain

"Please..." He whispered with the pain dripping from his voice "please.. come... back..."

Suddenly the pain seemed to be fading away somewhere. He felt the soft hand cupping his face and raising his head.

The touch!

He could never forget that touch.

"Piya..." He whispered slowly

He opened his quickly and looked at the face he longed to see all this while.

She wiped her tears, shaking her head in no and kissed his cheek where tears soaked it.

Yes, she was there. Right in front of her. Alive! He watched his daughter and saw her smiling through tears and nodding at him. His face broke into a smile.

Maybe his power and Ananya power and their togetherness got her soul the strength to return to life.

His daughter did it! The did it!

His heart started beat in a perfect rhythm.

He quickly took her in a tight hug feeling her presence in his arms.

Ananya watched with bright smile as her parents hugged each other. She felt the final hole filling up. Yes, it was her family. A complete family. She felt complete. The loneliness she always felt was faded away.

Her parents looked at her breaking the hug. They had smile on their face. Smile and love. Love for her. Love she missed and yearned all her life.

She could see the blueness fading away from her father eyes and his turned glassy great. Eyes she saw in the picture. She gave a dazzling smile.

Her father life returned with her mother. It was complete. They were complete.

They both extended their arms for her and she jumped on them hugging them tightly.

It was the feeling she always wished for.

Everything was complete. They were complete.

The place that snatched their everything from them had returned everything back to them. It was the place they lost each other and it was the place they got each other.

They were alive and together because of each other.

They live because of each other!

***THE END***

I really hope i answered every question in the chapter only.
If you guys still got the confusion then ask me in comment I'll answer you there. The chapter is complete and I had edit once already so I can't put more clearance there.

I had clear planning of while plot. Usually I read twice or thrice before updating so to make sure I wrote my whole mind but I just read it once so missed to write few things.

I'm really amnesiac and here I just got too much things to worry so mess up a little.

But I hope everything is fine now.

Though am never going to promise the day future.😆 I'M sure I won't do that ever again.

Readers and Story both are important to me and I don't want to spoil any of the two so next time I'll not promise a final day. It can be really dangerous. You will disappoint both so I'm not doing it again.

I got my lesson 😆
