I am not referring to anything I have not read and this is something I observed way back in the FFs while the show was still running. I am not a prude n I don't have to justify that to anyone 😆 Erotica is a genre in itself which I don't deny but yes like u said its not easy to pull off. But having said that, there are few writers who can pull it off with a good characterization too. To be honest, erotic stuff doesn't excite me nor it does it make me wanna puke. I guess I am indifferent to it 😆 So how does it make me a prude or a saint? I look for substance in a story and characterization is what that matters to me the most as a reader, erotica or not.

Being a writer myself I know its not easy to build a reader base and its always slow. Also some people move on and we need to accept that. But there has been a drastic dip in the number of old readers. In case of new stories, its a new concept and both old and new readers give it a shot but what happens to stories that are ongoing already? New readers probably dont wanna give it a try coz there is too much to catch up with and old readers have disappeared. How should it motivate you? As for improvements, I can say that I always used to drop a note asking readers for honest reviews (mind you, not likes but reviews that could be amount to criticism as well) but nobody used to bother. What should that say? They were simply not bothered. There were times when I have sat up till 4am in the early morning to finish an update and I made sure I posted it right away so that readers didn have to wait longer than necessary only to get a poor response. Likes and praise were not what I looked forward to but a response. Why should I take trouble to send PMs to 200 or so to get a response from less than 10 readers? The only thing a writer does is wait to see the comments and everytime there is even a one liner it makes them happy. Is it too much to ask for? Not like all of them quit the forum but they are very much here and I do see them around. If they wanted to quit they can by all means but why not have the courtesy to express their opinion before doing so? I literally shut down all of my works n not just close it but got them deleted, thanks to this forum! I have not abandoned them but why should I write it in a place where no one is interested? I might as well write it because I want to but I don't have to share it with anyone.

P. S - About likes on erotic stuff, trust me I have been to other forums where the story has 200 or so likes just for a gutter scene even though the writing style is downright pathetic and stories which are actually good receive a lukewarm response. Please don't take it personally. Its certainly not urs I am referring to, since I have not read it I will certainly not make a statement on that. But since u mentioned generalisation, there are many such stories and one cannot pinpoint every other thing they read, so yes we tend to pass a general statement.

That's why Dishu has quit writing in this forum and now I have too. Peehu had started a story here and she discontinued it because of low response.
I have better things to do than write on a platform where I'm obviously not appreciated. If people aren't interested I can't drag them out can I? I guess in this day and age romance centric stuff sells. Simple as that. Plot centric stories have a much lesser audience - in comparison - and IF is simply an illustration of that, so now I have accepted it and made my decision. I don't intend to quit writing - I just don't intend to do it on IF anymore. I'd rather do it for myself than do it here.

@Ayushi - it's really sweet of you dear but I donno what to say. I hate disappointing you (and trust me, no one is more disappointed/sad than I am) but we are in a minority dear. And maybe you should accept that now. Love and hugs

Hey hey... Hey hey ... We all are different from each other ... I know its hard to write in a forum where response is below low... But but but ... Don't u think to have 5 loyal reader... Who comment on ur stories .. Who always look up to this forum just for urs... Yet they don't get an update ... But still after so many months if that writer come back and post a note ... (will be updating soon) ... And these readers still say that no worries ... Will be waiting ... Can't you see??? Cant u see that they're waiting... ... To have some people in life to be loyal .. Is very difficult.. But yet few are better than gold diggers ( which left reading stories in middle) .. Being a reader myself .. I know .. 16 to 20 PMs till now I have sent to many writers of this forum to comeback and complete their work.. I sent them message only after seeing them active somewhere else... And in my opinion .. Response was far better than these response now a story gets.. But still .. I didn't see any of them coming here ... Being urself a writer .. What's ur take on this ?? .. Because as a reader I'm broken hearted... Coming to this story..Bookworm-ALS-- ... Hi dear... I always wait for a story being posted by you... I don't remember the name ... But the story was on a mermaid .. And that was the story that I fall in love with ur writing skill.. I'm not a old reader... I haven't read much work here... But still whatever I had read its amazing ... Dear.. I know being a super duper writer yet you don't get the response ... Anyone would feel low.. But cant you write it for the few die hard fans .. Which are so much putting their pressure to make you and dishu to comeback and start it over ... You know ... I was going through ur thread .. And I find so many readers writers there commenting on ur work .. They're not active in this forum but they came to read ur work.. Feel proud .. Its something that a writer should feel proud ... Its his readers... Loyal one.. Please.. Come and write for those who are more than crazy for pkyek and harry potter... Please do consider this message..😳

I asked so many writers to come and continue their work... Kind off 16 to 20 writers.. I messaged... But u know ... Only one responded... And that too .. That I'll see over it.. I felt bad... There were few writers... Whom I asked so many times ... But they were far so rude to readers... That it hurts... This forum... This forum has its own charm ... No one can take it from it.. But I'm dreading ... Might be this forum will be close in future.. Which I don't ...

^I'm sorry, I can't continue a story where even the prologue gets less than a double digits response. Like if it was two or three chapters down the line, sure, I'd get people didnt like the story. But since hardly anyone seemed interested in even hearing what the story is about, well I am definitely not continuing it.

... Meaowww... But don't feel dishearten.. Please... Try to find positive reasons ... That why people didn't read it .. Maybe they're busy with .. Job.. Exams... Home.. Or having personal problems.. And main one .. Its Ramadan.. Even in quite busy with it... But I don't want it to be discontinue...

LOL firstly this FF was started weeks before ramadan. Secondly I'm very positive, I'm sure everyone had a million things to do - except I'm not exactly a free bird right now. I have n no of tasks as well as personal problems - why should I be expected to write bina matlab ka? 🤣 I have been dissatisfied with responses for ages but this hit a new low so nope definitely not writing in IF ever again. And I have no regrets over my decision.

😭 x 1000 . Okay okay i know the forum was dying i am just mourning it now.

@purplegoth - i didnt left the forum i was out of station without net so yes i didnt saw the new story when i shuld have. I dont sugarcoat my reviews , i criticize when i shuld and give honest comments. from what i gather the writers here are not looking for likes in general but constructive criticism. They want to improve as writers too. I know this is true for shreya di, disha di and mandy di .plzz think on that. and i am nothing against erotica , i am as of now a hormonal teenager too and i am so not indifferent to it. But i cant read meaningless s** scenes too(especially when written in horrible yucky bad language) . and yes i left reading some of the stories not any by these 3s but quite a few stories by other wrtrs sometimes subtly when they just dont seem my type ( although i still read their ends for a closure, every story needs an ending)and sometimes stating my displeasure as it is.

PS - i have also noticed the response ratio mandy di pointed at not just on IF but other fanfic sites even in Pjo @purplegoth apparently having percabeth getting their hands on each other sets many on fire. Since the character buildup of these two characters are already at their optimum after 2 whole series , the meaningless sex stories on them will just make u cry in Displeasure and anguish.

The authors here have nothing against on erotica i can guarantee u tht even they have wrote one or two shreya di recently has written one or two. Hell me and shreya di are big fans of nalini singh books go read them NS has written 15 novels in psy changeling series each totally based on a diff. couple (while NS also carries the series overall story in undertone beautifully) she gives and pulls off the erotica elegantly in each one.

@shreya di - i get it but i am not ready to give up so soon . i need to do this. and i am going to do it.

@doll.12 - she is saying exactly tht . she and others are giving up writng on IF. Wake Up. i dont know who are ur 16 to 20 writers but they dont strike me as ones who just love to write or maybe they are too wind up in their lives. which i am all good with. no probs.all i am saying Writers just need their readers as much as we need them.

Generally - JESUS H. CHRIST i am not having another HP/PKYEK ff left discontinued / incomplete . there was one - a writer (username maano) started. dont know her/his real name or maybe i have just forgotten.
