chapter 1-
mumbai hospital-
the ward boys is moving a strecher towards the O.T...
madhu and arnab r on the both side of stretcher,calling for doctor,
madhu holding his hand,wiping his blood from forehead,crying
madhu(crying)-"abhay!!..abhay..please open ur eyes..arnab ,please
do something for him."
arnab-"madhu,relax..he will be fine..doctors r here."
suddenly a doctor comes and examine abhay.
docter-"mr.doberial..who is he??how it happen to him??oh god..poor boy!!!"
arnab-"mr.joshi...his name is abhay riachand..we found him on highway..please treat him first..he is very critical!!"
mr.joshi-"but arnab,its police case and moreover u r not his relative or family.
i can't treat him before police comes.."
arnab(angrily)-"pankaj,i know its police case and i have called them,they r on the way till than u treat him..please?(now pleading)"
mr.pankaj joshi-"fine,arnab.u complete the formality and deposit fees now.he
needs operation..(to ward boy)take him O.T. and prepare for operation.."
arnab-"thank u so much.."
ward boy took abhay but was stopped and when turned back to look what stop them ,they were left amazed...same with pankaj,arnab and madhu..
abhay had hold madhu's sari pallu tight in his fist.madhu became emotional,crying with smile on her face.she came forward and kissed abhay's forehead..
madhu-"i m there for u...my son!!!"
and freed her pallu and then wardboy took him..
madhu look back at arnab,whose eyes too were teary..
madhu-'arnab..."
arnab(hugged madhu)-"madhu!!!its okk..he will be fine.."
madhu-"he hold..."
arnab-'i know..i know..u relax..now he has wonderful mother,he won't leave u.just pray to god..till then i will complete the formality.."
madhu nodded and sat on chair,silently praying for his new found son..
meanwhile arnab completed the formality and given his statement to police about how they found him and then police left doing their enquiry..
after 5-6 hours,doctor came out,arnab and madhu rushes to him..
arnab-"how is he?"
mr.joshi-"he is very critical..can't say anything.he will kept for 48 hrs under
observation and he should wake up till than otherwise he would be coma.."
madhu-"doctor,please don't say like this..he will fine..i know.."
mr.joshi-"hope u r right,mrs.doberial..now its upto god only.and mr.doberial please come to my cabin"
arnab nodded and leaves from there
madhu-"arnab,..please do something..i don't want to lose him.we don't have
any child and now when we have...please.we..we can take him abroad for his
treatment."
arnab-"i know..how important he has became to us ..to u in just few hours..and promise i will do everything for him but first we have find out about him,his family.they must be worried for him..okk.."
madhu nodded and arnab left..
madhu went to the door and looked at conscious abhay, surrounded by machine,many drips,tubes attached
to his bady..he looked pale,weak...
madhu(crying)-"u will be fine.."
in docter cabin-
arnab entered and saw pankaj was looking at reports
arnab-"pankaj...'
pankaj-'arnab!!,come have a seat"
arnab-"is everything fine?i mean abhay will be fine.."
pankaj-"we have tried out best, but the state in which he was brought here
was very critical.he had a fracture in left leg and right arm ,some hair line
facture in back,his fingers r also broken of right hand,some injuries on forehead and lower abdomen and a bullet shot in his left leg due to which,a huge amount of blood loss.(arnab was shocked,pankaj notices)arnab,listen to me.this case is very sensitive.he had been captivated and torchure physically and mentally.and looking at his injuries,he has been captivated for last two days...may some underworldpeople r behind this.i as ur friend suggest u not to involve any more in this case,please..."
arnab(shocked)-"what??what r u saying.u want us to leave him alone here.there is no one to look after him.i tied to search his family and even police is also doing the same but no result.we couldn't get anything about him to know about his family, friends,relatives,his past..anything but in vain.and u want us to leave him.. u only said he is very critical and needs care than also.."
pankaj-"yes,than also..beacouse he may be wrong guy.he had been captivated means either he is rich,which he is not!!! as u can't find anything so it leaves only one case i.e. he may belong to underworld,thier enemy..."
arnab(angrily)-"how can u be so sure...i don't believe u..may be he has no one, he..he is orpan..!!!(with hope)"
pankaj signs and looks at his friend.he knows arnab and madhu didn't have child in their marriage of 25 years.they yarns for child.20 years ago in accident,they have lost their 4 years old son with madhu not being able to be mother again.that accident has shattered arnab and madhu completely...
pankaj-"look!!arnab..i know u..especially madhu bhabhi feels special for him.u two take him as ur son..but he is not!!!...try to understand he may be dangereous.."
arnab-"dangerous???he??..no i don't believe u..i know he is not my real son
but he is.. and that too from know..u will treat him and we will look after him..
and thats it..i don't want to here anymore..and if u can't treat and i will take
him somewhere else but will not him!!! and no more arguments,decision urs!!"
pankaj(signs)-"okk fine arnab,i will treat him..but i have already warn u..."
arnab nodded and left...
after 48 hrs-
docter came out after checking abhay,...
pankaj-"congratulations arnab,he is out of danger..."
arnab breathe a relief and madhu started crying with happiness..
madhu-"can i meet him..??"
pankaj(smiles)-"no..not now bhabhi..he is still conscious but is responding to
our medicines..u can go after nurse come out...but don't disturb ,only watch..okk"
madhu nodded,her eyes twinkling with happiness,joy,excited to see,to meet
her new found son.
arnab-"thanks"
pankaj nod and left...
after sometime ,they both went inside and both had mixed feeling for the sight in front
of them.they felt miserable for abhay ,looking at his condition covered with bandages, plasters,machines,drips but happy for him,he was alive ,with them.
madhu(wiping her tears,whispering to arnab)-"he looks so innocent.how can someone harm him so much..he is just a boy!!...oh god!!!my son"
arnab hold her and went near him and places his hand on his forehead..
arnab-"yes,my son..(madhu look at him)our son!!abhay riachand doberial!!!!..."
madhu hugs him and he hug her back..
and then both look at abhay with tears in eyes and smile on lips..
after two days,
when arnab-madhu came to visit abhay were surprise to see docters inside abhay;s room..
arnab(worried)-"doctor!!!!"
doctor-"arnab!!!come ,we were waiting for u only"
reading the worried faces of madhu and arnab...doctor smiles
docter-"nothing to worry..abhay had gain conscious this morning..its just a routine checkup..."
arnab-"ohhh..so its done!!"
docter-"not yet??"
the three looks at abhay,who lie on bed was just staring at ceiling...
docter-"abhay!!!..."
abhay looks at him
docter-"abhay,hi i m ur doctor,mr.pankaj joshi..u r in hospital..4-5 days back
,u had an accident and they r mr and mrs doberial, who brought u here and saved ur life"
arnab and madhu smile at abhay..
abhay looks at them
abhay(plainly)-"why??"
and the smile fades away from arnab and madhu face and looked shocked..
docter(changing topic)-"okk!!abhay..how r u feeling now??tell us something about u??about ur family??"
abhay(plainly)-"family??"
docter-"yes ur family??tell us?"
abhay doesn't response and looks at ceiling
similarly, they asked many questions but abhay didn't respond ,just kept staring at ceiling...
doctors signs and left from there...arnab also leave and madhu went and sit beside abhay and caress his hair lovingly with smile..
but abhay doesn't look at her and this disappointed madhu and tried to stop her tears..
outside the room-
arnab-"what was that??why didn't he answer??u said he is now fine..only plaster and some deep wounds r left,no major problem...??"
pankaj-"look arnab..he if fine...physically..he is responding to our medicines
and he spoke also.that means he know his surrounding,know about us...but he is mentally weak..i mean to say that he is in shock.something must have happened which cause him shocked??may be while he was captivated...for now i can only say let him rest,have proper medicine,food,care,talk to him even if he doesn't than also, encourage him,motivate him,take him out of his emotional trauma,give him some time. i hope he will be fine .just keep patience and don't lose hope."
arnab nodded and looked at abhay and madhu through window...
days passes like this..abhay would do everything except talking,interecting with anyone,just sit at place and stare in space...arnab and madhu were worried for him but didn't lose hope..slowly with time and days pass,abhay too recover physically,now he has started walking slowly with support...and in this process more than 40 days has passed.. after good 40 days, abhay could walk but slowly,move his hand ,his wounds were healed ,arnab and madhu were happy as they can took him with them as till now no
one had came to claim abhay and thus dcided that after discharge abhay would live with them as their son-ABHAY RIACHAND DOBERIAL!!
and soon their wish would come true as next day abhay was to be given discharge...
on night before the day of discharge-
in abhay room-
at midnight-
abhay woke up suddenly and went out of his room.
as it was night,everyone was sleeping and the corridor was vecant so he went to reception,no one was present there..
he made a call and silently went back to his room...
next morning-
after completing all formalities,arnab and madhu went to abhay room,to take him with them...but as they enter were shocked... both look at each other and that at EMPTY bed!!!..arnab rushes to check washroom
but know one there..
madhu sat on chair sobbing
madhu-"he left us..!!!he left us.!!my son again left me!!!"
arnab(consoling her)-"madhu relax!!,may be he went for walk or..or for check up please do't cry..let me see..u wait here..okkk"
but madhu continues to sob repeating same thing...
arnab enter after 15min all sad,dishearten..
madhu rushes to him expecting him to say something..
madhu-"arnab,where is abhay??he didn;t came with u?abhay??"(rushes to door)
arnab-"he left..."
madhu(disbelieved)-"what???"
arnab(turns to her,hold her from shoulder)-"he left..the nurse said his mother
came early morning and he went with her..he left us"(trying best not to cry)
madhu-"no..its not true..he can't leave me..i m his mother..that woman must be someone else.may be..may be arnab,she is with those captivators...till now no one came and suddenly his mother...(angrily)now tell me from where does that so called mother came..she doesn't came before and now!!!.."(still not able to believe)
arnab hugs her and console her
arnab-"shhh..stop crying..may be they didn't know and abhay himself informed his family about him...the staff told me abhay went with her...no body force him.. u should be happy madhu,that now he is with his mother,his family..!!"
madhu nodding her head in no..
madhu(sobbing)-"what about me,i m also his mother..we r also his family..what about us..in these 40 days,doesn't he felt anything for me ,for u..we took him as our own son..why???why arnab??"
arnab-"madhu...madhu..please calm down..lets..lets go back..he is not here.."
and both went out of hospital...
