Part 2

Dobriyal house

Piya jerked up and opened her eyes while her heart was beating fast. Her beautiful face was full of fear. It was a nightmare again.

Her room was dimly lit, which made her uneasy so she quickly got up and turned all the lights on. After drinking a glass of water, she tied her long curls in a ponytail and went to the bathroom to wash her face. When she lay back on her bed, she tried to remember what she saw. She closed her eyes and saw blurred images of herself running in the jungle and something was in her hand but she could not remember what it was.

"Stop it Piya," she thought to herself. "It was just a dream. Now go to sleep."

She felt a little suffocated and wanted to go out in the fresh air but knew if her family woke up they would get worried. She had stopped telling them about her dreams many years back because she didn't want them to worry and thought it was stupid to complain about dreams after all they were just dreams. She closed her eyes and soon drifted off to sleep. Little did she know that she was getting signs of what was written in her destiny.

Next morning, Piya got up very late. After taking a shower, she dressed into a pair of jeans and top and went downstairs where she found Madhu clearing the dining table.

"Good morning mom," she said as she sat down at the table.

"Good morning beta," Madhu smiled at her.

"Dad and Misha left for office?" Piya asked.

"Yeah," Madhu answered. "You woke up very late today?"

"I didn't sleep well."

Madhu got worried and sat next to her, "You don't get those dreams again, do you?"

"No mom, I just couldn't get to sleep, that's it," she assured her mother. "I'm fine."

"Ok then finish your breakfast, we're going shopping. Misha's engagement is coming near and there is so much shopping to do."

Piya's face lit up because she loved shopping, "That's great but Misha's gone office."

"She will meet us at the mall."

"Cool."

...

Raichand Mansion

Abhay was seated in the hall with Chand and Haseena.

"Abhay, I'm so happy you came back," Haseena said. "Our family is complete now."

Abhay didn't say anything, he just had a smirk on his face.

"Why did you decide this all of a sudden?" Chand questioned him in curiosity.

Abhay looked into Chand's eyes and said in a very mocking style, "because I missed you so much mom dad."

"You're still the same," Chand said understanding his disrespect.

"Just leave it Chand," Haseena said. "What's important is that he's back. I'm sure you found out Alina's truth.

"Yeah, I realised she only wants power to openly attack humans," Abhay agreed now serious.

"So have you given up on those disastrous plans?" Chand asked.

"Of course I have," Abhay lied.

"Are you sure?" Chand asked again. "Don't forget I'm your creator, you cannot lie to me."

"Believe me, just like you and mom, I have returned to the right side," Abhay answered him.

Chand knew what Abhay was hinting at but he was somewhat convinced and turned to Haseena, "Haseena, how are the party preparations going?"

"Almost done, I have sent out the invites."

Abhay got up and went to his room.

Dobriyal House

In the evening, Madhu, Misha and Piya returned home with lots of shopping bags after shopping the whole day. As soon as they entered Dobriyal house, they found Arnab sitting in the lounge working on a file. They came over and sat with him.

"You're back," Arnab said and then looked at all the bags. "Is this all you bought?"

Madhu, who was too tired to notice the sarcasm replied, "The rest of the bags are in the car."

"Oh, there are more," Arnab said while Misha and Piya exchanged smiles.

"The dress I have selected for you is perfect for the engagement," Piya told Misha, proudly and then whispered in her ear, "Bablu will be floored when he sees you in it."

"Excuse me," Misha said aloud, "He has a name, don't call him Bablu."

"Of course he has a beautiful name," Arnab said and after a pause added, "Bablu."

"Dad you too," Misha complained. "I'm not talking to you both."

"Arnab Piya, stop irritating her," Madhu warned them.

Arnab and Piya laughed while a servant came over and handed Arnab an envelope. He opened it and took a card out.

"What is it dad?" Piya asked him.

"Piya, you know the Raichands who moved here last month? Their son has returned from London. They have sent us the invitation for his welcome party tomorrow."

"Party?" Madhu asked. "At such a short notice?"

"Yeah, but we all must go," Arnab said. "After all they've invited us."

Soon the others disappeared and Piya was sitting alone in the hall. The invitation card on the coffee table caught her attention. She picked it up and opened it to have a look.

"Abhay Raichand," she read out aloud and smiled. "I like this name."
