I was at my best act when abhay said that piya doubted my intentions towards him. I didn't know where the tears came from. But it did. Maybe because she found out. abhay shouted at her and dragged her to their room and closed the door. I heard the shouting and yelling for sometime though I couldn't make out the words and everything fell silent all of a sudden. I saw abhay storming out of the house full of anger. I guessed all the possibilities that would've happened. My heart rejoiced that I succeeded in creating a fight between them. I went to my room happily and stood in front of the mirror congratulating myself.
"Well done tanu. Superb. First success. You should try to make the fight long and strong and try to comfort abhay and get under his skin. Wow!!!" I said happily to my reflection. It was time for the party and I got ready in the new outfit I bought for the occasion. Though abhay would not accompany me, I got ready happily since I made them fight. I danced around the room and knocked down some things not minding it at all.
I went to their room and opened the door to see her face tear stained. I wanted to irritate her more.
"Where is abhay?" I asked her as if I didn't know.
"That's none of your business" she shouted. She then asked me why I was after abhay and wanting to irritate her to the core, I said that I loved him and will get him one day. Then I saw marks like fingers on her left cheek. Did abhay slap her? Great. Just wonderful I thought to myself overjoyed at the sight.
"Seems like you had an argument. From the marks on your face, I assume that abhay slapped you. That's what I wanted. Goodnight" I said to her and turned back happily walking to the party. I would really enjoy it today. To my fullest. I got a cab and sat in it telling the driver the place to stop. I took out my phone to call abhay. He didn't pick up. I dialed again sometime later and no reply again. Then I left him a message saying that I was sorry for whatever happened between him and his wife.
I was dancing at the party when I felt my phone vibrate. I took it out to see who was calling this late. To my surprise it was abhay. I got out of the hall to a quiet area and picked it up.
"abhay are you alright?" I asked genuinely concerned.
"No am not tanu. But that's ok. Sorry that it gotta hurt you too" he said sounding sad.
"That's ok. I didn't mind it. she's probably confused. Do you want me to come over?" I asked praying that he would say yes.
"No tanu. Am fine right now. You enjoy your party" he said
"The party is getting over. Where are you now? I saw you storming out of the house really angry. I was very much afraid that something would happen to you. I even called and left messages. But you didn't reply. I was just thinking about you the whole time at the party" I said sounding concerned.
"Really sorry about that. Am in the church right now. Saw your messages. That's why called to tell you to enjoy the party" he said.
"I really can't enjoy when you are in such trouble abhay" I said and he cut me off.
"Am just fine now tanu. No worries. I'll handle it. Goodnight" he said and hung up. Though I was happy, I felt sorry for abhay coz he was very much sad and hurt. The party got over and I decided to stop by the church to comfort abhay. But when I went there, the church was locked.
So I went home straight wanting to know what was happening. I entered slowly and was very much afraid to open his door. But summoning courage and a reason to do so, I went near his room. To my surprise the door was fully open and what I saw made me furious. After all this and after what had happened. piya was lying on his shoulder with her arms around him and he was sleeping hugging her too. What the hell is this, I cursed. I went to my room and sat on the bed angry. I soothed myself saying that it was just in sleep.
The next day when I woke up, abhay was reading the newspaper and she was nowhere to be seen. This was like the moment I always wanted. Only us in a house.
"Morning abhay" I said to him .
"Morning" he said back with a weak smile.
"At church" he said and nothing more. I wanted to put my hands on him to comfort but was unable. I stood there staring at his wedding ring and there was a knock on the door. abhay answered it and it was obviously her. He was playing with her lightly and she pushed him storming in and stared hard at me. I smiled at her and went to my room to take a shower.
The breakfast wasn't made and I saw her staring outside the window sitting on the love seat.
"You need something abhay?" I asked looking at him from the kitchen. He stared at piya for a moment without saying a word. "You really need to eat abhay" I said again
"Am not hungry" he said and went to his room picking up his phone.
I scolded piya for behaving like this and she said that it was none of my business. I shrugged and made a toast for myself and ate it. The door bell rang door sometime and as I was about to get it, I saw piya getting flowers from a guy. Probably it was from abhay. I didn't like the idea. I stayed home the whole day not wanting to miss the drama.
I smelt dinner being cooked late evening. Maybe she became hungry. I laughed to myself.
"Dinner is ready" I heard her and since it was from near the kitchen, she was probably calling abhay. I knew she would never call me. There was a long silence and I went to the kitchen because I felt so hungry. I decided to call abhay myself this time and opened his door silently without making a sound. I was shocked to see then hugging tightly and then they kissed. Didn't they even look at me standing in their doorway. They were so lost in each other and that was enough to make me crazy. I stormed back to my room and I heard chairs being pulled by them to eat. I was fuming in anger and wanted to slap them both left and right for doing this to me.

"Let's go eat abhay. You haven't eaten from last night. Come" I said pulling him from the bed. I didn't want to call tanu and was afraid that abhay would mention her. But thank god, he didn't. It was just us and the dinner felt good in the stomach. We sat there in total silence just smiling at each other occasionally watching all the roses. I washed the dishes and went to bed happily. abhay was waiting for me wide awake.
"Aren't you feeling sleepy?" I asked him going under the covers.
"Nope" he said propping up on his elbow and I smiled at him. He leaned in for a kiss and it grew hotter.
"I missed you" I said after we broke up to breathe.
"I badly wanted to kiss you when I came back last night" he said and kissed me again.
The events flashed before my eyes and tears came out without my orders. to be honest, I didn't want to cry or talk about it.
"Hey... why are you crying baby?" he asked wiping it with his thumb.
"I don't know. it just came out" I said wiping them myself. "Am sorry too abhay. For whatever happened. I had a big part in it too".
"That's ok. Just let it behind. I can't bear seeing you cry" he said kissing my forehead. "Did it hurt hard?" he asked caressing the my left cheek which he slapped.
"Yes. It hurt not because you slapped me. Because you are not ready to believe what I am saying. Till now" I said slowly looking at him afraid that he would get angry again. But he didn't say a word. "can I ask you something?" I asked
"Yeah" he nodded still caressing my cheek.
"Will you give me a chance to prove myself abhay?" I asked him.
"Not again piya. please" he sighed.
"Just one chance abhay. I beg you" I said pleading him while the tears flowed down my sides. he was silent for a minute. "please" I said again.
"Ok. One chance. For you" he said smiling down and I couldn't be happier. I hugged him tight saying thank you and he kissed my temple.
"Nowadays we are fighting a lot" he said wiping my tears smiling at me. "And I don't want that any more" he said again kissing me lightly on the lips.
"Being happy always is boring abhay" I said into his shoulder. "see, this is thrilling, exiting and bring us even closer than before" I said looking into his eyes and he laughed lightly.
"Your cheek is turning red, cherry" he said kissing it.
"That's my gift to you" I said pulling him for a kiss. "I love you" I said after we parted.
"Not against it. I love you too" he said leaning in for another kiss. But I did not know that we would end up making love as happy as we were before but now with more love.

The last thing I wanted to see on this earth was abhay and piya kissing and hugging. I was angry, mad and wanted to throw her somewhere abhay would never find her. I didn't sleep that night and kept on pacing inside the house. I was planning another way to separate them but couldn't get any. So I decided at least I could keep them engaged so that they won't have time for each other. The next morning I dressed for work and went to the dining table and abhay was eating his breakfast as fast as he could.
"Do you have a minute for me abhay?" I asked him and piya just looked at me.
"Sorry tanu. Am in a hurry" he said and piya ran to their room to get something. She then put a tie around his shirt collar as he was drinking his morning juice. He then leaned in closer smiling mischievously at her and she punched him on his shoulder. He then set his juice on the counter and pulled her closer by her waist. They both stood there romancing, smiling and laughing while I got mad at them here.
"Am sorry to disturbed you in your romance time abhay" I said with hands on my hips and piya turned to give me a scowl.
"Am really running late tanu. We'll talk in the evening, right?" he asked and I nodded. He grabbed his bag and kissed her before leaving. I too went out of the house as soon as I could.
That evening abhay was really late and apologized since he was not in for a talk with me. I acted like a good girl and didn't say anything. The week passed by and I found the right time to talk to him.
"abhay" I called him since he was watching football game.
"Yeah. Sorry tanu. This week was really hectic. You said you wanted to talk to me about something, right?" he said and I nodded sitting on the couch near him.
"abhay I thought I would visit your family before going back. Can you take me tomorrow?" I asked hesitantly but a bit afraid what he would say. He was silent thinking about it.
"Do you mind going by yourself?" he asked then.
"Why? Don't you want to see your family too?" I asked really confused.
"piya's having some work party this week and I need to go with her. A true husband's work" he said smiling at me.
"Can't you try coming?" I asked again and he shrugged tipping his head to one side. "Then it's fine. I'll be going tomorrow morning" I said and went to my room.
The next day there was a loud conversation going on outside the room. abhay was shouting at piya and I felt happy since the fight was on its own. I got dressed happily and headed out to see the drama. abhay looked as if he was going somewhere.
"Morning tanu" abhay said smiling at me and I wished back. "You in for a good news now?" he asked raising his eyebrows.
"Yeah" I replied happily wanting to know what that would be.
"Am coming home with you" he said grinning at me and I couldn't say how happy I was. She would be here all alone and I would be enjoying with my abhay. That was exactly perfect.
"Good. I'll wait near the car. Come fast" I said and went down taking my bag for the weekend.
I stood there all happy and was thinking about the happy moments that were to come. I adjusted my jeans and shirt to give a good look. abhay came down smiling happily and packed our bags in the car and we got in. I sat with him in the front so that it would be easier for me. He stopped the car as soon as we were out of the parking lot.
"Forgot something abhay?" I asked looking at him confused.
"Nope" he said smiling at me and then I saw her running towards the car. I looked at abhay and he was still smiling.
"Is she coming too?" I asked him
"Yeah, of course" he said and piya stood knocking the window and I opened the door.
"That's my seat" she said and I got out to sit behind.

I was at work taking care of the arrangements for the work party when abhay called. It was the fifteenth time he was calling.
"abhay" I said a bit louder picking up the phone.
"What are you still doing there? It's almost eight. am hungry" he said sounding upset.
"Has the kitchen gone somewhere or have you become blind?" I asked him laughing lightly.
"I've become lazy" he said and I could imagine his smiling face.
"Then it's time for the bones to work abhay" I said
"Come home soon cherry. Please. Am dying" he begged.
"Am almost done here abhay. Will be there soon" I said and we hung up. The arrangements were completely done and sir called me to his room as I was checking if everything was perfect.
, my boss, looked upset and every one from the office were there. I stood near misha and asked her what the matter was and she shrugged rubbing her plump belly.
"I have a bad news" boss said and we all looked at each other. "I appreciate everybody's work to arrange for the party, but it's not gonna happen now. Mr. Towens met with an accident. So this is postponed to... well who knows when. cancel everything" he said and walked out of the room. We all sighed and some people got upset too.
"Thank god, it got canceled. Am having a lot of contractions lately" misha said rubbing her huge belly.
"Go home misha. You'll feel alright. want me to call sid?" I asked
"He's already here" she said looking behind me and I turned around. we three talked for a while and then headed our way.
"Am home abhay" I said opening the door and then saw him staring at me with a frown and I went and sat on his lap throwing my bag on a nearby couch.
"Get off me" he said mocking anger and I circled my arms around his neck and he closed his eyes while his lips twitched up a little. I laughed at him and he opened his eyes laughing too and kissed me. "I've got something for you" he said and carried me into the kitchen. I sat on the kitchen counter and he handed me a plate.
"Pancakes!" I said "What! You made it?"
"Yeah. For my sweet cherry whose late from work" he said sitting up with me.
"Oh God. Am so exhausted" I said in bed after I freshened up.
"You don't look like it though" abhay said kissing me
"Please abhay. Let me sleep. See my eyes are drooping" I said turning to my side and he pulled me closer to him turning me. "
"So how are the party arrangements?" he asked stroking my hair.
"Oh abhay! It's all a waste. It's postponed to who knows when coz Mr. Towens met with an accident" I said snuggling closer.
"Then, do you wanna go over and see my family tomorrow? tanu asked me if I would come with her" he asked
"That would be nice" I said kissing him.
The next morning abhay was shouting at me to get ready soon. We were running here and there picking up stuffs and packing our bag.
"I'll be down there. Come fast" he said and left taking the bags with him. I took all my things in a separate bag and locked all the doors before going out. I ran to the car and saw tanu sitting in front with abhay. I knocked the window and she opened the door.
"This is my place" I told her and she got out to sit behind. She was silently staring at me the whole way. We reached there and abhay's dad opened the door. We exchanged pleasantries and shared some funny stories. There was full of laughter in the living room. Then I went into the kitchen to help with the lunch.
"I'll cut it mom" I said to abhay's mom and took the knife from her. tanu came in and I saw Kiran staring at her. tanu averted her gaze from her stare and sat opposite to me.
"When are you getting laid tanu?" Kiran asked her and she stared at me, then Kiran.
"I always thought it would be you and abhay" abhay's mom said to tanu and we all looked at her. "You both made a cute pair" she said smiling and tanu looked at me proudly. "But am very much glad that you came along" she said placing her hand on my right cheek and smiled. "I would say that you are the best thing that happened to abhay so far" she said and I smiled back at her. Kiran winced at me and tanu was clenching her teeth.
That night I was sitting on the stairs unable to sleep. I was thinking about a way to prove tanu wrong. I didn't know what to do and prayed god to help me.
"Still up?" someone said and I turned to see Kiran.
"Hey. Just couldn't sleep" I said and she sat beside me on the stairs.
"I know the reason piya" she said and I looked confused at her
"No. Am sure you don't" I said looking at her
"Well, I know Sweety. It's about tanushree, right?" she asked and I looked at her really surprised. Kiran was always a good friend to me. She was gentle, wise and very much caring.
"How did you know?" I asked her
"I knew" she said stroking my hair and tears showed up on my eyes.
"I just couldn't understand why she's doing this Kiran" I said wiping my tears.
"You know, she always had a crush on him. From when we were all friends. She never allowed any girl to pair up with abhay while we played. It was always her" she said laughing lightly.
"It was back then. Now I am his wife. You know how much abhay believes her? I told him everything Kiran, but still he doesn't believe me" I said as the tears started flowing again.
"Then you've got to show him this" she said getting up and I looked at her puzzled. "Wait here. will be back in a sec" she said and went towards her room. I sat there not knowing what was Kiran up to. and she came and sat beside me again. "Here" she handed something and I took it.
"It's our wedding invitation" I said puzzled again
"Then have a look inside" she said gesturing me to open it. I did as she said and was shocked to see that my name was stricken and her name was written in it. I looked at Kiran. "I caught her doing this and she didn't see me. Thank god she left this behind by mistake" she smiled at me and tears flowed down my cheeks again.
"Kiran" I said unable to speak more
"Oh piya. That's ok" she said hugging me.
"She's really this mad at me, huh?" I said crying on her shoulders.
"Don't cry piya. She's really crazy, ok. abhay is yours. he loves you. not her. She really needs to give her nasty thoughts a rest. Show this abhay tomorrow. now go sleep. Goodnight" she said and kissed my cheek before leaving. I sat there staring at the invitation and decided to end everything tomorrow.

We were at my house for the weekend. Nothing would become so perfect. Juli said she would come on Sunday since josh had some work on Saturday. The day went great and piya was really at ease after a really long time. We couldn't find time for each other in the crowd.
"O, come here" I whispered to her when she was busy in the kitchen.
"What abhay?" piya asked coming into our room.
"I want a kiss" I said pulling her closer.
"No" she said struggling with me.
"Then you are not getting out of my arms" I said pinning her to the wall.
"abhay! Wats gotten into you?" she asked placing her arms around my neck playing with the hair in my nape.
"I love you" I said leaning in to kiss her. The kiss grew passionate and she moaned.
"Sorry, I didn't see anything" Kev said closing his eyes.
"You spoiled everything mate" I said punching his arm and he shouted and piya was all red being caught.
I saw piya staring at tanu constantly during dinner and it really made me uncomfortable.
"You really aren't that comfortable with her being here, right?" I asked when she came to bed and she just smiled lying near me.
"Do you think this bed is enough for us?" she asked changing the subject. I pulled her closer and kissed her cheek.
"Now it's enough" I said resting my head on the pillow. I understood that she was not ready to talk about tanu now. "Goodnight" I said kissing her and closed my eyes. I opened my eyes in the middle of the night disturbed by something and circled my arms around piya, but she wasn't there. I opened my wide and looked here and there for her. The door opened then and I saw piya walking in silently through the moonlight from the window.
"Hey, where did you go?" I asked softly
"You are up?" she asked with a crack in her voice and I turned on the lights sensing she had been crying. She hid her eyes from the light immediately.
"Have you been crying?" I asked sitting on the bed and she shook her head no. "I know you too well piya. Don't lie to me" I said and saw she was holding something and frowned. "What's that?"
"It's just our wedding invitation abhay" she said sitting on the bed.
"Why are you crying looking at that? something wrong?" I asked pulling her closer.
"I wanted to show you this in the morning abhay, but since you asked look inside" she said giving the invitation to me and I opened it looking at piya. When I bent down I was shocked to see piya's name stricken and tanu's name with mine. It was written in pen and I recognized tanu's handwriting. I looked at piya and she had tears in her eyes.
"What's this?" I asked her not able to believe my eyes
"I told you" she said and a tear dropped. "Kiran gave it to me" she said wiping her tears. "She knew this from the beginning. Maybe even before me" she said looking at me and I was not able to look into her eyes. "abhay, you ok?" she asked placing her hand on my shoulder.
"Yeah" I said and fell back on the bed keeping the invitation under the pillow. piya kissed my forehead and hugged me.
"Am sorry all this had to happen abhay" she said and I was unable to answer her. I didn't sleep the whole night and piya was awake too just trying to soothe me. She kept saying that everything would be ok.
The next morning I went to the kitchen for breakfast and saw tanu there.
"Morning abhay" she said smiling at me and I just stared at her. I wanted to ask everything but didn't want to make a scene in front of everyone. I looked at Kiran and she was frowning at tanu wiping a pan. I was waiting for the right time and called piya and Kiran to come with me.
"What's happening here?" Kev asked us.
"Nothing Kev" I said to him and turned to climb the stairs.
"I showed him Kiran" piya said
"What you showed him?" Kev asked.
"I said it's nothing" I shouted at him turning towards them.
"Kev knows it abhay" Kiran told me and turned to her husband. "The invitation I showed you" she said and climbed the stairs behind me.
I knocked tanu's door with the invitation in my hand.
"Ya. Come in" she said and we all went in. "Oh! I thought it was only one coming in" she said smiling at us and I kept staring at her. "Something wrong?" she asked looking at me. I threw the invitation on the bed and she frowned at it. "It's your wedding invitation abhay" she said taking it in her hand.
"Look inside to know what you've done to it" Kiran said from behind and tanu suddenly looked scared. She opened it and her eyes went wide and I could see her clearly afraid. She didn't look at any of us.
"Why did you do this?" I asked softly
"I didn't abhay" she said looking at me.
"How dare you lie? I saw you doing that on the eve of the wedding" Kiran shouted at her.
"I didn't abhay. She is lying" she said looking into my eyes.
"Do you think am such a fool? I know your handwriting very well. I didn't believe my wife when she told me damn it. I believed you. And all you do to me is this. I thought so high of you and in real you've stooped so low?" I shouted at her.
"abhay please believe me. They all are wrong" she said as tears were flowing down her cheeks.
"Shut up" I shouted at her.
"Well then I will. Did you know how I felt about you from the beginning? And suddenly this bitch comes and says she was your girlfriend. You both kissed and romanced in front of me and you had no idea how I felt. YES. I did all I could to separate you. I wanted you to hate her. I created the fight and you will never know how happy I was when I heard you slapped her" she said smiling lightly.
"What!" both Kev and Kiran said at the same time.
"That doesn't matter now, does it?" tanu said again. "I love you abhay" she said softly.
"Shut up!" I shouted at her as my anger boosted up. I was so angry that I wanted to hit something really hard. "I don't want to hear any of your nonsense anymore. You are good actor tanushree. Very good indeed. Pack your bags and get the hell out of this house. Now" I shouted and turned to back to my room. I banged the door hard and sat on the bed after knocking off the night lamp.
"Can I come in?" piya asked from the door way after some time and I nodded. "Am sorry abhay" she said hugging me. Tears started to collect in my eyes as I remembered slapping her.
"Am the one who has to be sorry here. I hurt you really bad, right. Am sorry sweetheart. Am sorry" I said crying on her shoulders.
"It's over abhay. Don't cry" she said and I was surprised that she wasn't crying now.
"I don't know what to say other than sorry piya" I said wiping my tears.
"You don't have to say anything abhay. Everything will be alright" she said kissing the top of my head. "All I need to you to know is that I love you. I don't want any other woman to look at you the way I do" she said wiping my tears.
"I love you too piya. Am sorry all this happened to us. I didn't even have a guess" I said and she shushed me with a kiss before I could talk further.
