SEARCH FOR THE WITCH

Abhay moved into the huge sitting room only to be welcomed by a hard bolt of electricity knocking the life out of him. He was thrown backwards onto the black sofa which somersaults along with him. Haseena finally came into her senses who was standing at the door all this while and shouted "Stop it Sophie. Stop your childish drama. You are hurting him."
Haseena came forward to help Abhay but by this time he has jumped back to his feet looking super irritated and a Spanish blonde wearing a black silver studded skinny jeans and a long sleeves cardigan wrap top standing in front of him was gazing at him sharply giving him a crooked smile. She was a 5ft4 height beautiful girl looking less than 20 years old , having sparkling grey eyes. Her beauty shines on the inside and on the out. She was cute to say the least, naturally gorgeous, picturesque.
"Hello sexy , see I never cease to surprise you"she said giving her biggest smile to Abhay. Her hands were in her pocket , she was swinging from one end to the other slightly on her feet.
Abhay become really angry by this remark. He twitches his mouth and narrows his eyes and burst out "What the hell Sophie is this how you greet your friend. Can't you find a better way"
"Nopes"she said shaking her head and came forward and hugged Abhay and whispered in his ears seductively "I missed you Mr. broody"
Abhay separated her from himself by holding her shoulder and replied "And I missed your antics" and tries to smile
"Oh god broody at least pretend to be happy seeing me"
"Hey its gr8 to see you I m honoured to have you in my house"he said in mimicking in British tone and then get back to his normal rude accent "Sorry I can't I m not good at lieing" he says looking at her furiously
Haseena thought its time to interrupt otherwise this will continue for a week "Now stop it Sophie if you are done with your teasing session can you tell me what did you got from your adventurous trip"
"Ok so you are more interested in getting that info out of me and you won't even ask about my well being" she says sulking
Abhay jump up in between "Oh your well being, I m far more worried about those snowmen who have to bear you for almost six months"
"Whoa broody you also have a sense of humour I never knew. Which kind of blood are you drinking these days" she says while sitting on the sofa nearby crossing her legs and looking up at Abhay with her best fake surprised looks
"I don't exactly remember but right now I want to feed on an irritating witch's blood. I guess you can help me in fulfilling my wish" he says looking at her deeply and finally get settled on the sofa in front of her's along with Haseena
"Oh you want to drink my blood that's gr8. Then I can have the pleasure to have your sexy mouth on my gorgeous skin" she says while pouring water from the jug in a glass placed on the table in front and raising her eyebrows and removing her hairs from her neck "Go on"
"Thanks but no thanks I'm not interested. I guess your boyfriend oops your new snowman boyfriend has enjoyed you way too much for me to take a chance"
Haseena shouted finally unable to control herself anymore "Stop it you kids. You both behave so immaturely sometimes. What about you Abhay she is a kid but you are a 200 years old vampire for god's sake"
"Sorry mom" he utters meekly
"Oh moma's boy" sophie says trying to tease him
But haseena hisses furiously "Sophie"
"Later" she says daring Abhay
Abhay nods in annoyace "For sure"
"Ok so that's what I got " Sophie said now finally becoming serious and taking out some old books from her brown bag. "See as we all know that Chand uncle has been killed by a charmed dagger on which a spell has been casted by a very powerful witch That was a very strong spell and to cast it she had to channelize all her inner power which finally result in her painful death. Now you have preserved Chand uncle's body and as long as the dagger remain inside his heart, there is still hope to get him back to life and this can be done only by one way i.e by performing a ritual at the hand of a Mambarang witch" she stops for a while to take a breath
But Abhay got irritated "Oh gr8 Sophie, that's what you have found. I m so proud of you. It's like you went there only to refresh what we already know or may be you were way too busy romancing with your snowman bf to bother about anything else" he says sarcastically
Sophie also got annoyed in return "Ok so if you don't want to know then its fine , I'll be glad to keep this secret with myself or may be I will distribute it among some penguins who I suppose will be far more interested than you"
Haseena again has to come in between their verbal war "Why you kids have to be such a pain ughh and Abhay don't you dare interfere in between now otherwise I will put a special potion inside your blood diet tomorrow and your sweet mouth will be sealed for a week then"
"Whatever" Abhay says finally giving in
Sophie chuckled and continues " So as we were knowing that these types of witches don't exist anymore because their family line ended with the death of Melinda Warren, one of the most powerful witch to have ever existed around 1,000 years ago. She was brutually killed along with her whole family. But look at this" she now shows an old rusted bundle of papers where words were written in baybayin, the ancient script of Philippines. "You know this language, right"she asks Abhay trying to confirm
"Of course I do, its one of my favourite as its confusing, ancient and beautiful at the same time" Abhay remarked proudly
Sophie sighs deeply "Ok then Mr. genius, it states clearly that Melinda had given birth to a baby girl out of wedlock. It was one of the reasons of the revolt of her tribe against her as they have spotted her with a shepherd boy. So they tricked her and killed her with her entire family as they supported her in dishonouring them" Sophie says stressing on the word dishonouring and cursing those prejudiced people under her breath.
Abhay was feeling very bad for Melinda as his own story has many similarity with Melinda. But suddenly something striked him and he ask feeling anxious "What happened to that infant I mean that baby girl"
"Well nothing specific is mentioned here but in this book" she took out a big book out of her small beaded handbag
"How the ruddy hell.."Abhay's eyes popped out seeing a giant book coming out of a small bag
"Well undetectable extension charm. Look I'm finally improving at tricky magic" Sophie says winking at him with a hint of self proudness in her voice. She continues "Here it is written that the baby girl has been frieked away by her fatherbefore anyone can see her". She stops and look at both of them to know that if they get what she want to say and suddenly Abhay shouts in excitement
"Does this mean that the witch that we have been searching for exists" he was way too excited for his own character right now
"Chill broody chill.Have you forgotten that You are 200 years old. What if ur backbone will crack down into pieces. Who will save the daddy dearest then" Sophie says humouring him
Haseena again has to jump in between "Oh god not again. Such an important discussion is going on and you two can't stop fighting for a second. So, Sophie how are we supposed to find that witch now. Remember we only know that Melinda has given birth to a girl 1000 years ago. What if the family line breaks in between. We can't be sure about the existence of this type of witch"
"Cool down haseena aunty the love of ur life will be back soon in ur lap if the fortune favours us" Haseena eyes her furiously and Abhay chuckles "Only sophie can have the guts to joke with mom at this crucial moment."He thought and Sophie continues trying to sound serious "As for the witch I'm not harry potter or hormoine granger who will chant "accio witch" and she will appear in front of us holding buque of roses for Mr.broody" she says making her hand movements to and fro like she is moving a wand and casting a spell.
"Sophie" Haseena hisses furiously
"Ok Ok there is only one way to find her i.e. using a belonging of her ancestor Melinda . I have to cast a premonition spell and if her heir/heiress is present in any part of this world, I might as well will be able to trace him/ her"
"How are we supposed to find a belonging of a witch who died 1000 years ago. I don't think she has left her shampoo on her bathroom floor before dying which is still there waiting for ur beautiful hands to pick it up" Abhay says trying to show her what a big fool she is.
"Shut up Abhay shampoo bathroom are you crazy? Between Mr. genius you should let me bother about it. In fact I have found one of her precious belonging" and she grabbed her bag and put a hand inside it trying to search for that precious thing. The bag was making sound like 1000 ton of the material has been hidden inside it and the she finally take out an old silver necklace which was although rusted but still shining
Before Abhay could ask further she thought its better to answer beforehand and not to invite another verbal war "Its her necklace. I went to her house in Philippines before coming over here and found this hidden beside a painting after searching that place for a week. By the way that house is a museum now. And gosh that watchman is so annoying I have to faint him magically before entering the place"
"How can you be so sure that it's her necklace"
"See this is their family symbol" she says pointing to a star imprinted on the diamond embedded in between the necklace "And see this hand made picture of her in this book ,she is wearing it so its hers" she says looking at Abhay to get a response
"Ok so now what r you waiting for? Do u want to wear it. Trust me it will lose its elegance once u will wear it." He says sarcastically but she didn't understand so he burst out "Cast the spell and find out the most desired one" he is getting highly impatient
But this time Sophie stays calm and composed " But sweetheart I want one more thing"
"What" Haseena and Abhay both said together feeling like she will ask for something big
"Your blood" Sophie says casually fidgeting with the necklace. Haseena and Abhay glares at her furiously thinking that she is joking again. "Oh guys give me some credit. Will you? I'm not goofing around. Look if the heir/ heiress exist then Chand uncle's soul might have already contacted him/her by invading his/her's mind. It is because the spell of that witch was not strong enough to trap his soul forever. It has on the other end should have provided him the energy to identify and contact the supposed witch/ warlock. Because these types of spells are particular to the mambarang witches. Only they can cast them perfectly and the energy of these ancient mambarang witches are stored in these spells." She looks at both of them to know that they have got her point or not and continues "And as Abhay was turned by Chand uncle i.e his blood runs in Abhay's system. So it will help me get the vision properly"
Then all of them proceed to the dark room situated behind the sitting room. Sophie enlighted all the candles around them and they were now sitting inside the three concentric circles made by paraffin candles. Sophie placed the necklace on a small stool covered with a red cloth and ask Abhay to give his blood. He cut his wrist with his fangs and let some drops of his blood fall on the necklace. Then she started chanting mantras in Sanskrit and suddenly a gust of wind surrounds them blowing all the candles off turning the room completely dark and then the candles got reignited sparkling with double intensity. Sophie suddenly opened her deep grey eyes getting startled and shouted breaking the killing silence of the room "Yes she is there I have seen her Abhay can u hear me the witch exist"
Haseena and Abhay smiled whole heartedly at this statement. Abhay finally asked in excitement "Who is she? Where is she? How does she look like? Does she has any idea about her powers? Does she know about dad's condition."
"Chill broody. Have you counted the number of words you have spoken right now in one breath. What will you do for the rest of your life. You have crossed the limit u have set for urself"
"Shut up Sophie and answer me" he says getting agitated now
"Ok look. I'm not that good in these type of magic. Only mambarang witches can perform it perfectly that too after a hell lot of practice as it includes an optimum use of mind power. I've seen a blurred vision of a girl, her face was not clearly visible and let me complete before u charge up to kill me." She continues "look I don't know who she is but as per my vision and knowledge, she might be 16 or 17 years old and this fortunately or unfortunately means that she will be unaware of her powers. This is because these witche's power come to the fore only after they turn 18 and that too after practicing some special kinds of spells."
"So how will we find her then"
"I guess I can help you in that because in my vision I have seen her entering a city and the name plate suggests that the city is.. Dehradun..."she finally uttered "Dehradun after much difficulty.
Abhay and Haseena got the shock of their lives after hearing Sophie's exclaimation. Abhay just got stunned for a moment unable to move and control his emotions. They move to the living room. Abhay has not uttered a single word till then. They sat on the sofa and Haseena handed Abhay a glass filled with blood to calm his nerves down. She sat next to him and hold his hand "Look abhay I know that this city holds a major chunk of ur painful past. And many of those dreadful memories will be refreshed if u'll go there but u have to do this son, for your father, for me , for yourself. I know my son is far more stronger than he give himself the credit of."Abhay finally gathered and himself and speak in a soft voice filled with pain and disappointment "Don't worry mom, we are going. I won't let my past affect my present. Besides I think its high time I should face my past, after all it has some beautiful memories as well ,my maithali's memories" a drop of blood unwillingly flows out of his blue eyes.
Sophie came towards him and knelt in front of him sitting on her knees and take both of hands into her's "Hey Mr. brody are you shameless? You are crying in front of the two most beautiful woman in this world. Bad manners." Abhay chuckles shaking his head. "I know you can do it"Sophie whispered and Haseena put her hand on his shoulders for reassurance.
" Dehradun get ready to welcome me" Abhay exclaimed breathing deeply
Orphanage in Mumbai
Due to the unfortunate encounter with Jonathan early in this morning, Pia recived a severe punishment even on her last day in the orphanage. She was being thrashed by sister Lily with her venomous words which are unbearable to any human being but for Pia they doesn't have any affect. She is quite familiar with all of those words. Doesn't matter to her anymore. They used to thrash and beat her when she was a child. Not only her, all the children were punished in line, slapped and hit for nothing. She was relieved that after passing the teenager phase, she was never punished physically, only tortured mentally. Today as a punishment to the severe "crime" she has committed, she was made to polish the floor of the entire orphanage and she did it patiently without raising a single protest.
Finally the time came i.e at 6:00 pm when she will leave this torturous and hideous place forever. She was ecstatic at this but doesn't know how to show her happiness. Very few persons came for her farewell. Sister Mary kissed her forehead "God bless you my child. May you get everything in your life". Two three girls who always sympathised with her came along sister Mary to bid her goodbye and she finally get sitted in the bus to reach her destination or who knows to grab her destiny. She could not get out of those memories she has been forcefully given when she was in the orphanage. Those unusual things usually happened with her has deepened her loneliness and make her feel like a girl living on a remote planet all alone. She has always witnessed strange and unexplainable things happening with her especially when she was angry or excited. Many a times things broke down to pieces just by her mere gaze when she was angry. But then again she think it's just a coincidence. She can't be psychic. How can things like these make sense. Her mind flies back to an incidence that took place 5 months ago
Everyone in the orphanage was engrossed in celebrating holi. It was 8:00 p.m. and each and everyone of the orphanage residents were having holi special dinner organised in the garden. Pia has eaten early to avoid any fake pleasantries from the others. She felt thirsty so came down from her room to fetch some water for herself. She was pouring water in her bottle from the water cooler when someone tapped on her shoulder. She got startled and bottle slipped out from her delicate hands. She turn back to see the drunk Jonathan scanning her from her head down to her toes with his hungry eyes. His hand was still on her shoulder and he was smiling wickedly. She shrugged his hand off and shouted furiously "What the hell Jonathan. Why are you here when everyone else is enjoying outside in the garden."
" How can I enjoy out there when the thing I want is standing all alone inside the orphanage" he says while running his fingers from her shoulder down to her palm. She shuddered and back off "What the hell. Don't you dare to touch me you pig" she growls and tried to move but Jonathan held her wrist tightly and pulled her in front of him in a jolt. He gazes her deeply. He was checking her out, his eyes shifting from her eyes to her lips and then down to her chest. She knew he was upto no good. She tries to push him away but he was stronger.
"Come on don't be a pest. I was craving for u from the moment I saw you. But you always keep running from me like I m some kind of a plague. Where will you go now? We are all alone here. Let's take the full advantage of it". He leans forward to kiss her but she slapped him hard across his face and glares at him angrily with a look of extreme disgust on her face.
He shouted "You bloody bitch. Now who will save u from me". He grabbed her forcefully into his arms. She was struggling to get him off her , tars were rolling down from her baby brown eyes but he was holding her firmly. As soon as his lips touched her fair neck he got thrown back by a strong invisible masculine force and crashed into the aquarium placed there breaking it completely. Water was splashed everywhere. He tried to get up but suddenly fire got ignited in the water and engulfed him burning his clothes and now moving towards his dark skin. He was screaming loudly for help. All he could see was Pia looking at him furiously without blinking her eyelashes, her baby brown eyes have turned red now due to anger but his screams brought back her senses and she looks away to call someone to help him. The fire diminished suddenly and others came inside to see Jonathan fainted on the ground in midst of water and Pia looking at him with pain, guilt and confusion in her eyes.
The voice of sudden breaks applied on the bus brought her back to the present. "Madam Dehradun aa gaya hain" the conductor shouted. She breathes deeply looking at the beautiful scenery outside and steps outside the bus. She breathes the fresh air and decides that it's a new day now, a new life. She won't let her past influence her present anymore. She still remembers how she was being locked in the dark cellar underneath the orphanage for a week without food as a punishment for trying to "kill" Jonathan. She herself didn't quite comprehend to what happened that day. She was angry and was glaring at him furiously, directing all her energy towards him and all those things occurred. That was not the first time something obnocoscious has happened with her but that was extreme. Anyways time for a new start in a new city. "I will be good with everyone, will even try to talk to them and will study as hard as possible to achieve my destiny. I deserve a better life for myself. My childhood was filled with pain and confusion but my youth will be flooded with happiness and success" she thought determined and move forward to her destination, the mount college. A song was playing on the f.m. at the nearby tea shop making her feel more confident towards her decision.
