What's in name? Just about everything! Simply because it gives you an identity. After all, what's a business card without a name? And, not to forget the astrological and numerological value of it. While many of our stars have a common name, we puzzled those stars who have unusual names on how they got their name, its meaning and more…

Sukirti Kandpal

My name means fame. My nanaji wanted to name my elder sister Sukirti, but her nakshtra alphabet in the horoscope was Bha, so they named her Bhavana. He told my father that if they have another girl, he will name her Sukirti and that's how I was named. The name I really like is Rishabh. I have liked the name since childhood and now, it also happens to be my boyfriend's name. (Laughs)

Kishwer Merchant

It means a nation or a country. It's my mother who named me as she came across a name Kishwer Sultana, which means the queen of the world. And I remember, I would always tell my mother, 'Why did you name me Kishwer, why didn't you name me Karishma or something. Nobody can even pronounce it.' (Laughs) Since my childhood, I've always liked this name Rehaan. So if I have kids, I will finally name him Rehaan.

Vahbbiz Dorabjee

Vahbiz Dorabjee

It's a Persian name and means gifted by God. My parents always loved this name and that's why they gave me this name. I have always liked this name Zara and if I have a daughter in the future, I will name her that.
