Abhay-Piya-Alina OS : Who are you?
Piya was glaring at Abhay as she tapped her fingers furiously on the desk , waiting for his answer or at least something that he would say and she gets the chance to pounce on him and fight with him. Abhay continued reading the book that he was busy with and refused to look up at Piya. He was disturbed already because of Alina, Jeh and rest of the Khuranas – right now, was just not the right time to play question-answer round with Piya. Abhay just closed his eyes , shook his head and turned the page over.
Piya ( her temper rising )- Abhay , am talking to you!
Abhay ( raising his eyes to her face )- But I am not talking to you, Piya. If you can't see , then, let me help you. I am sitting in this empty classroom so that I can escape your stalking and read in peace. And will you please get off this desk? It seems like you will fall into my lap next and Jeh will accuse me of molesting you.
Piya gets even more irritated and snatches away the book from Abhay's hand . He rolls his eyes and quietly gets up from the bench, crossing his arms across his chest and looking at a fuming Piya.
Piya ( furiously )- Stop trying to be funny, Abhay Raichand, First , answer me. What are you trying to do with Alina?
Abhay ( calmly leaning over the bench )- I play scrabble with her everyday and we play snakes and ladders in the night. That answers your question. Happy? Can I go now, Piya?
Piya ( stepping ahead to block his way)- Am serious, Abhay. I am looking out for Alina and you are not the right guy for her.
Abhay ( looks at her from top to bottom in a pseudo-confused manner )- Are you like, the new bodyguard of all women in Dehradun? You want to protect all women from me? Misha, Pancchi and now , Alina? Who else is on the list? T? Tracker? ….( grins )…. Or yourself?
Piya ( gritting her teeth and pointing a finger at him )- Don't drag me in between. Its about you and Alina!
Abhay calmly puts his hand on Piya's pointed finger and looking into her eyes, he slowly brings her hand down , coming a little closer.
Abhay( staring into her eyes )- Nobody points a finger at me – definitely not when am not even at fault….( a little calmly )…..so, what were you saying, hmm? ….( leaving her hand )…
Piya ( fumbling and intoxicated by that glare of his oceanic eyes )- Drag… I mean…. Don't drag me in between… in between….
Abhay ( smirks )- Forgot what you were saying, Piya? ….You answered the question yourself. Its between me and Alina. Jeh can come and thrash me for that. Not you. So, stay the hell out of this business. You have accused me of a murder and a murder attempt – interestingly on you – last week. And here you are rounding me up in this lonely classroom? Guts and how!
Piya (looking into his eyes )- I am not scared of you.
Abhay ( big fake smile )- Too bad. Looking at my history , my character , my reputation, YOU SHOULD BE. …( pushes her aside but gently )…. See you later.
Piya grabs Abhay's hand and he stops in his tracks. Why was this happening to him? Piya just had to catch him when she shouldn't. The harder he pushes her away , the faster and closer she comes to him. Abhay cursed himself for having broken Piya's heart the other day by brushing off the precious 'I love you' he had told her. It had left Piya wounded , bitter and so much more aggressive that Abhay was sure that Piya could claw his eyes out if she could so that she can punish him for daring to look at another woman other than her.
Abhay ( not turning back )- Leave my hand.
Piya ( facing him )- Not until you tell me what is your plan with Alina? You are going to do the same thing to her that you did to me! Make her fall in love with you and then, break her heart or confuse the hell out of her. You are taking Jeh's revenge from her , aren't you?
Abhay ( a small smile )- Wow. Such a genius. You know everything. Good for you. Firstly, I don't make people fall in love with me… ( looks at her a tad pensively )….. they just fall in love with me….( recovering in less than a flash )….and if am that dangerous , go and warn Alina, okay?
Piya ( hurt and angry )- Listen Abhay! If you think you can get away with anything and everything , you are wrong! If you even think of hurting Alina ….
Abhay ( tired of accusations )- Think about handling your own hurt, Piya! Am not answerable to you. You are NOTHING! Who are you to talk to me like that!
Piya gets so stung that tears spring to her eyes and she raises her hand to slap Abhay across the face but a gentle , delicate but firm hand stops her arm midway , clutching her wrist. Abhay is stunned and Piya shocked to see who the peace mediator is. Piya turns back and looks at Alina – her usually calm innocent face flared up in temper.
Piya ( shocked )- Alina?
Abhay ( taken aback by her temper)- Alina…..
Alina ( jerking away Piya's hand shocking both of them )- ENOUGH. Do you hear me , Piya? ENOUGH. There is a limit to everything. Since the day I have come to Dehradun, I have only seen you accusing , abusing and hating Abhay…..( standing with Abhay )….what's your problem? Why can't you just let him live in peace? Its almost like that your day starts with devious plans that oh, how can I hurt Abhay!
Piya ( hurt and shocked )- Alina, you don't know how Abhay is….
Alina ( raising her voice )- AND YOU KNOW HOW ABHAY IS? Answer me , Piya . Do you REALLY know how Abhay is?
Abhay ( intervening )- Alina, Alina, calm down, okay? She…
Alina ( shooting Abhay a glare that unsettles him )- Don't interrupt , Abhay. Am not done with her yet…( looks back at Piya whose eyes fill up with tears )… Its okay if you hate Abhay, Piya. Its fine. But what is not fine is your constant urge to hurt and harm Abhay – so much so that you are obsessed with the thought of causing him harm. And why? Because you are hurting inside , you want to hurt him! You want him to feel the same pain that you do! ……( looking into Piya's eyes)… you have forgotten an entire lifetime, Piya. You don't have a single memory of what and how Abhay was with you. So, stop punishing Abhay for things that you don't remember!
Piya ( looking like a hurt little lamb )- I am not punishing Abhay…..( looks at him)…. He is punishing me , whether you believe it or not. I am just trying to protect you.
Alina ( tauntingly )- Oh , please, Piya! You are not trying to protect me. You were never trying to protect Misha, Pancchi , Jeh , me or anyone! We all are your reasons to talk to Abhay! ….ADMIT IT! And stop judging Abhay, will you? If you can't be good to him, just stay away from him. …..( looking into Piya's eyes deeply )…. You have to decide, Piya. You love him or hate him.
Abhay is looking at Alina with a deep seated shock and a feeling that is making his body light and his head dizzy. Piya looks at Abhay and gulps her tears – his book clutched in her left hand.
Piya ( her eyes on Abhay who keeps quiet but his eyes speak volumes )- Now, I know why its so easy for you, Abhay. To break hearts and just move on without even looking back to see of the person is dead or alive….( looks at Alina )….there is always somebody waiting to fall in love with you. You are lucky. Because you don't know how it is to have a broken heart and that feeling of being unloved……
Abhay ( lowering his eyes )- You are not unloved, Piya….
Alina ( calmer )- Abhay doesn't love me, Piya. He never did and he never will. He loves just one woman and if he doesn't say it, its for you to find out.
Piya looks at Alina and Abhay doesn't have the heart to look at Piya.
Piya ( her voice quivering )- I found out.
Piya wipes her tears and turns to leave. She walks a few steps to the door and then, thinking something , she comes running back, kisses Abhay's cheek and then, giving Abhay a long intense look, she leaves the classroom. Alina doesn't have the heart to say anything to Abhay at this moment and moves to leave the room . But Abhay's voice stops her.
Abhay ( strongly )- Alina, stop.
Alina ( calmly )- Piya needed to hear that , Abhay. She is going insane and you are not helping matters. And I don't want to discuss this any further .
Abhay ( confronting her )- I need to hear something as well , Alina.
Alina ( getting uncomfortable )- What?
Abhay ( scanning her )- Who are you?
Alina ( pushing up her spectacles timidly )- You know who I am.
Abhay ( shaking his head )- I don't. I am beginning to feel it, Alina. I have been feeling this for a long time now. I don't know you at all. You are nice to me. You stand up for me everywhere . We have suddenly become best friends. You choose me over your brother and your family. You talk to Piya about me as though you have always known me…. ( sounds threatening )….we both are supernaturals, Alina. Lets not fool ourselves or rather you stop fooling me. How can you know me so well ? How can you vouch for my love to Piya when I never told you anything! HOW?
Alina ( removing her glasses and looking at him deeply )- Find out…….IF . YOU. CAN.
