I stared around me and watched the darkness overtake everything. Though I felt comfortable here something about tonight made me fidgety as if something new was going to happen. Any way Misha would be furious if she got to know I had come back here again. Tonight i was here to find my answers...
"Pia" a voice interupted my thought. I looked sharply back to find a lady in her late twenties looking at me. Her stunning face held an ancient grief and torment. I looked away not knowing what to say. "Pia" her voice was clearer now. I looked up and a faint smile lit her face.
"Do I know you?" I asked politely trying to smile. I felt protected with her. Her smile vanished as if hurt by my comment but she looked at me sadly.
"I know you but you might not know me" her voice was hysterical. Her laugh was without humor.
"Tell me please. Who are you?" she seemed willing enough and it made me happy that tonight I was finding a part of my life... The full truth from a stranger who i apparently knew.
"I am Abhay's mother" she pressed her hand against my cheek. I didnt flinch away by the cold but my face hardened at the name. though his name made my heart speed up but his stories werent very pleasant. Her face first held shock and then realization dawned on her.
"So they did feed you with lies" she sighed.
"No one lied to me" I said weakly knowing he was probably correct. I knew she was. She smiled knowing that I had always known.
"he loved you so much. He was nothing before you came. You were his life" she said touching my face and then smiling. She seemed as if she was talking to herself... in her own world.
"Where is 'he'?" I asked she didnt look at me but she stared at the sky instead.
"You know he would always run your one call and not hear a word against you" she added absentmindedly.
"Where is he?" My voice broke.
"You are just like he wanted to be in his absence" she shook her head disappointed. The way she spoke it almost seemed that Abhay was dead.
"WHERE IS HE?" I asked. I didnt know what drove me but it hurt to even think that he didnt exist. It hurt my heart.
She snapped out of her train of thought and looked at me with confusion, her eyes furrowed as she spoke.
"He is not with us" she looked at me vulnerably and I couldnt help but ask.
"How can I help?" And at an instinct I knew I could. In someway or the other.
"All you can do he pray and remember him with all your love" she sighed and then stopped thoughtfully. "Actually... Take this and keep it" she pulled out a ring and slid it in my finger. "Take good care of it." she added.
"I know I can do more" I said earnestly. She looked at me hopefully and then sighed.
"This might seem awkward to you but I need a drop of your blood" she said half smiling. I nodded. She speculated my face and then lead the way into the forest.
he took glances at me all through the way and I smiled at her each time. At last she stopped and waited for me to come too.
"Here" she said and patted the soil. i looked at her bewildered. "Drop your blood here" she seemed worried.
I nodded and picking up the sharpest thing I could find I sliced my thumb. The blood flow was easily and i pressed more. It stopped at last and i looked at Abhay's mother to see her standing far away with her jaw clenched.
"Now Pia. It is very late and this forest is dangerous... Go back home and dont look back" She said with a deep warning. "Walk twenty steps at that direction and then take the trail. It will lead you straight to the main road" i nodded and taking one last glance at her walked away silently.
I was almost at the end of the trail when I heard a blood curdling scream. It was Abhay's mother. I turned back and ran as fast as i could to where I had come from. I reached the place at last to find it in a mess. the soil was normal now and as if a storm has been here the place was fully dug out.
I heard a rustling of noise and followed it. I didnt even hope it was Abhay's mother. As i came closer my body longed more. As if there was a reunion. I stopped when I saw a figure. Certainly not a female.
His back was turned to me, his well sculpted body made it hard to look away. He put Michelangelo to shame. "hello?" I called and the man turned.
Though it was dark it didnt take me long to adjust to it. I stared into the familiar dazing eyes. 'Armaan' my head screamed.
"Pia?" his voice was horror struck.
"Who are you?" i asked even though I knew.
"No one you might remember" he said looking at me with a disapproving look. I blushed embarrassed.
"i know you... I see those eyes whenever I am in bad luck or in trouble" I blurt out. he stared at me shocked.
"What have you dont to yourself?" he asked sadly. I stared at him bewildered. I hadnt changed much not something that should be in his notice.
"I am Pia Dobrial" I ensured.
"I knew Pia Jaiswal" he conformed. I furrowed my eyes together.
"Who are you?" I asked again.
"Who do you think I am?" he wondered more curious than he should be.
"Armaan" I said simply.
"See what you have done to her son?" As if the knots became worse. I saw Abhay's mother speak from behind me. He nodded. My heart corrected.
"Abhay"
