Piya is standing nervously in the huge hall of Raichand Mansion, twitching the ends of her colouful stole between her fingers. Chaand is quietly sitting by the fireplace , smoking his pipe and signing some documents. He looks at Piya gently but with a scanning eye.

Chaand ( turning pages)- You can sit and wait, Piya. But it is no use . He will not see you.

Piya ( looks agitated)- But I want to see him….i have apologized, uncle and I can say that over and over that I am sorry.

Chaand closes the files and stands up. He puts his smoking pipe down and walk upto Piya.

Chaand (smiles sinisterly)- I understand and accept your sorry but it is not about us. Me and Haseena understand that you were just trying to help your friend…but Abhay does not. He is unreasonable , rigid, stubborn, cold and…. (almost glows his eyes into her )….very very unforgiving.

Piya looks a little scared and steps back and at that moment, Haseena and Anushka come out of the study.

Haseena ( curtly)- Chaand is right, Piya. I told Abhay that you are here to see him but he has refused to even look at your face. I suggest you go back home. He will not meet you.

Piya goes to the two women and Anushka still looks visibly upset with Piya.

Piya ( almost angry)- Will not meet me? But why? I want to sort out things and I am sorry. I have tried calling him but he is incessantly cutting my calls. He should give me a chance to explain.

Anushka ( butts in)- Did you give him a chance to explain?

Piya ( shoots back)- I did! And your darling brother said that he was the father of Maya's baby. He lied to me and forced me to do the things that I would never do to him otherwise!

Anushka ( softens at this)- Never?

Piya ( strongly)- Never. I would never want to hurt Abhay! And if he is being such a mule and doesn't want to see me , well, I can go and see him.

With this Piya starts to go into the study but Haseena stops her.

Haseena ( trying to be nice)- I understand your state Piya but it is not wise to stir up Abhay when he is not willing to listen.

Piya is about to open her mouth to argue when Anushka gently puts Haseena's hand down and looks at Piya. Both Haseena and Chaand are taken aback at Anushka'a gesture.

Anushka ( calmly)- Go. He is in.

Piya looks surprised for a few seconds and then, brushing past Haseena, she goes inside the study. Chaand and Haseena glare at Anushka.

Chaand ( hisses)- Are you crazy? Here we all are trying to keep Piya away from Abhay and you are piling her on him?

Haseena ( looking angrily at the study door)- I hope he bites her neck off!

Anushka (shakes her head in irritation)- What is the point? Didn't you all see the look on her face? She is going to confront Abhay sooner or later , so why not now? Besides , Abhay needs to FACE Piya and understand the difference between her and Maithli.

With this Anushka goes up the staircase leaving Chaand and Haseena frustrated.

Inside the study…

Abhay is leaning over the mantelpiece and staring into fire when he hears the door close softly behind him and a timid but determined Piya comes in. Abhay's face hardens but he doesn't turn around.

Abhay ( calmly)- You have a problem with languages , Piya? Didn't go to a good school?

Piya ( taken aback)- Of course, I did. Why do you ask that?

Abhay ( still looking into the fire)- I ask you that because you have been explained in all possible languages and expressions and ways that I do not want to see you. Yet, you had the audacity to show up at my house.

Piya ( irritated but controls her temper)- Okay, I am not here to fight with you, Abhay.So, I am not even going to react to your acidic insults. I am here to apologize and that is what am going to do…. ( takes a deep breath)…. I am sorry. I am sorry that I misunderstood you and sent you to jail.

Abhay doesn't turn around and just shrugs his shoulders.

Abhay ( quietly )- Okay. I got your sorry. Go now.

Piya is taken aback and in irritation , she goes and grabs Abhay's arm and turns him around.

Piya ( angrily)- Look at me when am talking to you.

Abhay ( rolls his eyes)- When I look at you , you stop talking.

Piya looks caught at this remark from Abhay and blushes a little which shows even in the dim glowing fire of the study.

Abhay ( smirks ) – See.

Piya ( clears her throat )- So, you forgive me?

Abhay ( flatly)- No. Not today. Not tomorrow. Not ever.

Piya ( shocked )- But… but I said I was sorry! And it is not even my mistake , Abhay. You and Maya misled me. Yet , I am apologizing.

Abhay ( looks at her )- It is not needed. It is not important. I told you what the deal was. You send me to prison and i walk out of your life. All this is useless now…. You please go and invest all your creative and emotional energy in Kabir. He is your boyfriend. It is not good to be obsessed with another man.

Piya's cheeks flame up and she gets all bright eyed. She quickly moves away from Abhay and he smiles.

Abhay ( in his signature attitude)- Go home, Jaiswal. Go to Kabir. I have nothing to give except agony …..i am not going to forgive you. EVER.

Piya ( confronts him)- You will have to! It was not my mistake.

Abhay ( breathing into her face)-You cannot force me!

Piya ( equally aggressive)- I can. I will. I am not scared of you!

At this Abhay locks her arms behind her back and pulls her closer by her waist . Their faces barely inches apart.

Abhay ( forcing her to look into his eyes)- You should be!

Piya ( ensnared by his scent)- I am not!

Abhay leaves her with a jerk and Piya has to catch her breath . She looks at Abhay who in turn doesn't look angry. Just passionate.

Abhay ( looking away)- I am done with you . Say sorry , stalk, do whatever you like, Piya but am not giving in…

Piya ( definitively )- We will see!

Wow!! Awesome update! I'm glad Pia had the guts to tell everyone that its NOT her fault! And Abhay! Oh God, I totally forgot about that deal

Haseena ( looking angrily at the study door)- I hope he bites her neck off! 🤣
