We have seen similar scenes in kkb where he is caught unawares of Pragya's presence. That was funny, so is this... but still, Radha's presence around him is something I am not able to digest. It may not be cringe but its definitely not a welcome sight. And moving into the 16th episode we have her getting hints of something going on in her about him!!!
Hopefully that realisation may make her keep a low profile... else😲
Fine that they didnt and dont want to 'waste' any time and effort on any backstory, but can they at least go a bit slow on this angle? From what I see most viewers haven't been able to accept her presence yet and to go on with it seems like forcing things down our throats.
Better 'eat the elephant one bite at a time', else this angle is likely to go the way her attempt to have Mohan take G to school, with the audience giving the thumbs down.
In KKB both Abhi & Pragya as individual characters were strong with odd traits, backgrounds, responsibilities, love for their families, good at heart, self made in career based on their skills, talents and hard work by overcoming childhood challenges. And they were shown traditionally and legally married publicly with an arranged marriage which is normal in Indian society. So creating such funny or crazy scenes, fighting scenes or falling over lifting scenes was accepted by audience. Even bgm for their meets and eye locks were so loved. 👍🏼
My take. Here in RM such scenes between a brooding lonely widower man with kid already engaged to another lady from his age group look forcibly pushing on viewers when a mere acquaintance young dumb single lady whom he didn't remember for 14 years is forever stalking him in his own house, despite his warnings to stay away and maintain distance from him. And that devotional Radhe Radhe..Radhamohan bgm that editors force into their scenes makes it much more cringe worthy to absorb those scenes.👎🏼
Shabir does not use the social media often and would not know about the feedbacks and TRPs of RM, would he have realized by now that RM has not been an instant hit?
As I said earlier too Shabir's family, friends, relatives, staff may be watching RM show's episodes and some are also active on social media. I hope he is not hidden from ground reality and feed backs, as people on sets may discuss about TRPs as well. Anyhow he was never much into TRPs even for KKB he believed in just doing his bit before camera as an actor and if he is enjoying his work or not.
He was NOT in his usual elements even during pre-launch Lucknow press meets and later during the evening event. His body language indicated nervousness, disinterest, discomfort and worry. Though during May 2nd launch episode screening in Mumbai and media interaction along with producer on sets he tried to be little at ease, but he said lets see audience response, they are going to decide how long show will run.

Even kkb was not instant hit, started to grow after months, when Abhigya were already married&accepted as couple. No show gets instant attention from both on&offline. Results come after team efforts to make everything watchable, from story to cast fitting the characters. Here started not so well but can make changes and will work. Compared with other shows story is a lot cleaner and actors have potential to grow, create a nice bond-that would help them feel&look comfortable on screen.
And Shabir is least interested in trp, never was. What he said during that interview for the audiobook in december is for real, will be in a show as long as he's needed-has something to offer there. Numbers should only matter for ph&channels, coming from reliable sources. In fact should be released exclusively for them, not for public, else we know how shows are tagged as hit&flop by people who have no idea what's behind those numbers and that not always quantity=quality.
Even 6-7 years back TV channels used to understand, be more receptive and give 3-4 months for new daily soaps to establish initial viewership, develop characters, build connect with audiences, set story base.😊May be also because along with producers GECs used to plan, budget, cast and opt for long running daily soaps. There wasn't much online viewership to their daily soaps on OTT platforms as well earlier, and also not too much active social and web media discussions around TV shows by fans then.
Now with attention spans coming down and TV audiences having more choices both offline and online; within first 3-4 months itself most GECs send notices to producers, either time slot change / complete story track or characters change / shut down.
Even though he doesnt use social media he will get news and feedback... he keeps a tab on that.
Absolutely... no show takes off immediately... the story needs to settle and WOM happens and more people watch. Also, TRPS are not the most reliable source of watching anymore...
And numbers should never matter to an actor... The show has potential if they correct some flaws... cause its one of the better stories that one can watch other than the cringe drama that is currently going on.
Was just thinking seeing a clip posted by Zee.
If not for quick Gungun promos and couple episodes driven around that kiddo and her killer father within initial two weeks of show launch which was named and hyped as pyar ka pehla naam, and if not for court case and public humiliation scenes, just imagine Shabir as lonely Mohan in 10-12 episodes might have got confined by director to speaking and/or crying before dead wife photo frame on his wall in present times.😳
Thankfully they cast better actors with screen presence for Gungun and Tulsi mom's characters, though they severely messed screen tests of Radha and Damini characters while casting👎🏼and may be even for Mohan's father role.
