There are so many plot holes now.. 
A lot of things doesn't make sense... the execution is poor for Shiv's past 
They shouldn't have revealed gauri as shiv's ex wife and kartik as shiv's kid 
Now coming to the positive's.. i really like before the revelation we can see shiv has completely moved on from gauri.. Now gauri will not be a hurdle but another reason for this marriage... Shiv will give his 100% after shiv shakti's marriage

So it is confirmed that the kid is Shiv abd Gauri's Why do they have the same story for every show? Gauri being Shiv's ex-wife makes zero sense. Shiv has never shown any indication of having a romantic past, let alone a marital relationship. They could have shown something else for Shiv's past. But they had to take the most clichéd route.
Chalo at least Shiv has moved on. He didn't even show any big pain about losing his wife. He looked more worried when Shakti was unconscious during that interview track. And since Gauri died in front of him, there's not much chance of her returning. We'll get Shiv Shakti completely.

he was even ready to get married in the initial episodes if that girl would have accepted his past.. 
looks like his only pain is that he separated a child from his mother.. May be he didn't love her
