Chapter Five
The Same Evening
'bahia pass me the daal please' Araina asked on the dining table. It was a tradition that the Das family always ear dinner together, no matter how busy anyone was.
'sure, here you gudia' smiled Millind and passed the daal over to her.
'accha, Prateeksha, tum kal se Subhash sir ke office jaana, to work on that project, and Aziz, college tomorrow?' Millind informed and asked.
'yes Bahia, just one more week then I'm finished from college and can join the office full time' replied aziz.
'Fantastic, wait toh Gudia tumhari chuti kab hai?' millind contiued.
'bahia I finsh college for the holidays in exactly month, Aziz Bahia is in the last year so finshes early' Araina replied.
'Ok, so when everyones finshed, and me and Prateeksha have some time off work, we will all go out for a little family trip. How does that sound?' Millind asked.
'GREAT' came simultanuously from the rest of the siblings. Millind gave a light laugh, and dinner continued on that light note.
'Ronak yaar what are you staring at? It's been an hour with you staring at your phone, what is so special on it that your continuosly staring at it, ehh?' Shashank asked Ronak. He was bored out of his mind as ronak would not reply to any of his questions.
'Baas nothing,' turning his phone off and sliding it under his pillow. 'Bataa, what do you wanna do?' he asked.
'Nothing know you duffer, it's too late, and I have to start that new project tommorrow so can't be late, chal mein chalta hoon, bye you idiot.' Shashank said and left with giving a light hit on Ronaks head.
'Ronak man, ek din mein itna asar. Calm yourself down, yeh ladke ke mamle mein toh Shashank agyee tha. Ronak tu bhi na. Chal ronak go to sleep and get rid of Arainas thoughts from your head.'
'Mr Manhortra, budhaa hogyaa. Prateeksha teri bhi kya kismaat hai, uncle ke saath kaam karna. Chal ek baat to sahi hai, 'woh flirt toh nahin karegaa.' smililing to herself Prateeksha laughed at her thoughts and went to sleep wondering what the next day had in store for her.
'Miss Das, chal atleast miss toh hai, flirt karke bored toh nahin hongaa. Magar woh budhee bhi hosakte hai juske shaadi nahin hoye. Chal Shashank inta maat Soch kaal ke kaal dekhna, go to sleep know man.' Shashank ended and went to sleep.
'Pata nahin kyun yaar toh baht aree hain. Araina too uske mamle mein maat par, baad college ke akree exams par concentrate kar. Chal subhaa early pochna, get some rest Araina' concluded Araina.
That night was an uncomfortable night for many, Ronak and Araina were in each other memories whilst Shashank and Prateeksha couldn't decide if their partner was old young or even annoying in the case of Prateeksha.
Next Morning
It was the next morning and Suhani had cone round early morning to take Araina to college today. They were both eating their breakfast ready to leave soon. Aziz had left for college in his own car, and Millind had also left early morning for some office work. Fifteen minutes later Prateeksha came down and saw the house empty. Concluding everyone had left she also grabed a peice of bread and ran to her car to leave for the Manhortra office. Sitting in it, she turned the key to start the enjine, but had no response. A futher few times proved to be no such luck either. Leaving the car she walked out onto the main road deciding to take an auto instead. Walking on the main road, she looked around for an auto but saw none, instead she saw the same man following her. She got scared and picked up her speed. Turning her head once in a while to see if he had gone, went into vain she started to run lightly. she was not looking where she was going and hit directly into a car. Falling to the floor, she shut her eyes.
'Are you ok?' asked a huskybvoice which she recognised. Opening her eyes slowly she saw the same guy from the party who saved her from the guy who was just following her.
'Tum' she said in areliefed voice and leapt forward and hugged him. Confused at what was happening, but also caught up in the moment he returned the hug with the same passion.
'Your my saviour, thankyou.' Prateeksha said, releasing the hug.
A smiling Shashank helped her up, and led her to his car.
'Come I'll drop you, and no refusing' he said.
Prateeksha smiled and agreed. 'Thank you once again for saving me, pata nahin yeh koon hain jo mera pecha kara hai.'
'No problem, magar yeh kyun pecha kara hai? Any reason?' Shashank asked. Receiving a negative nod he didn't say anything else.
'By the way we met so many times but haven't told each other our names. Shashank...'
'Prateeksha'
the drive contiued with light talking,
'By the way wher do you want to go?' Shashank asked.
'Woh shit it was my first day forthis new contract, I'm late as well, urm just stop here the building is just round the corner, thankyou so much again, and let's see if destiny has written for us to meet again.' Prateeksha said before leaving the car.
'i'm not sure about destiny but I definatly want to see you again' said Shashank and left to park his car.
Prateeksha ran inside the office, asking for directions to the Mr Manhortras cabin and walked in expecting for someone to be there and shout at her for being late. But seeing no one shocked her, and she sat on the chair waiting for someone to arrive.
Ten minutes later someone walked in.
'Sorry for being late something came up, so I'm Mr Manhortra, but you can call me Shashank,, and you?' he asked whilst looking down at the paperwork on his desk.
'Looks like destiny wanted us to meet, once again, Prateeksha, a pleasure to meet you;)' she said.
Shashank looked up suprised and smiled,
'I guess Miss Das is not a budhi after all, this is going to be and intereting project working with Prateeksha.'
'Yeh Mr Manhortra toh young nikle, chalo atleast he is nice guy.'
'Looks like it after all, come let's get straight to work' Shashank said, with Prateeksha agreeying and both jumping in straight to work.
'Suhaani, oi, wait yaar what's your hurry?' Araina asked.
'Araina mom and dad rang, dadi's not feeling so good, I need to get to straight away' Suhaani replied.
'Really? Chal I'll come as well.' replied Araina and both leavin for the Rai Mansion.
Fifteen minutes later, both girls reached the Rain mansion and found dadi in her room.
'Dadi what happened you alright?' both asked concerned.
'Yes beta fine just mild asthma attack, I'm fine'
Suhaani sat with her dadi and parents. Not wanting to intrude Araina left the room. Walking to the front door to leave for home, she ran straight into someone. Putting her hands on his chest to steady herself, she didn't realise the guy looking at her.
Realising what happened she looked up to see who it was.
'Ronak tum? Idhaar' she asked.
'Haan, came to see dadi,' he replied.
Bothe continued talking not realising Ronak still had his hands around Araina and Araina with her arms on his chest.
'Yeh kya horra hai idhaar?'
