Don't sterotype western culture yaar. Over here, sure we have more freedom but that does not mean we move out at 18 and forget our parents exist. everyone I know loves their parents dearly...and have only moved out after marriage or because of jobs/uni.

We do love our parents here; but prefer to be more independent. We dont disrespect our parents, but have the guts and atmosphere were we can have a communicative relationship with them.

And we don't DISOBEY or DISRESPECT or BE RUDE to our parents, like most would think, we have a relation where we can voice our opinions to them without feeling uncomfortable.
