Part 2

He couldn't believe he was standing here. He had initially refused to go but he couldn't stay away. She had to choose Amaan of all people as her future husband. One of his best friends. But it figured, just as the Scindiya's the Khanna's were rich and influential. He remembered that Amaan did show an interest in her before she left, bit he subtly reminded him that the bro-code frowned upon dating each other's siblings. He had not even been aware that the Khanna's had sent a proposal. Now they were talking outside and he was waiting inside with the parents. He was burning to go out there and drag her away.

"I couldn't believe you agreed to this. I didn't even know that you wanted to get married. But I always liked Yash's little sister."

She flinched at the reference of her as his sister again.

"Look Amaan, I was not interested in marriage. But Ma and Bauji insist so I agreed. And I chose you because I like you. You were always nice to me since I came to SM. But before either of us agree on anything, let me be honest with you. I am in love with someone else. I have loved him for a long time and we ... we were intimate. But there is no future for us. In fact for him it was only physical so he is not a threat. So now you know everything, please feel free to decline the proposal."

"Thanks for being honest my darling. I also can't claim to be innocent so who am I to judge you. And as I said I like you but I am not in love with you, and as long as your ex is not a factor then I can be happy to friends."

"Are you sure?"

"Sure."

"Thank you so much. From now on you will be my bff." And they hugged.

"Aarti! They are waiting for you inside" yash was livid. She was obviously moved on easily.

She started to walk but before she could pass him he said:

"Amaan, be careful with your choice here. All these people care about is money and status. Like mother like daughter."

He walked away.

She looked at Amaan to see if he believed what Yash had said.

"Don't worry bff. I don't know what Yash's problem is but I have known Rhadha-ma since she married his father and I know she is a good woman and she loves your step-dad and his sons. But Yash had a very close relationship with his mother. In fact they were so close that he didn't have much of a relationship with his father. She doted on him and she favoured him over Prateek. Yash has always thought his mother was perfect. And because he felt this loyalty to her, he felt that his father must do the same. Hopefully he will see the value of his whole family one day."

"Thank you, Amaan."

They went back inside and announced that they accepted each other. He was gone.

A week later he was in his father's office again.

"You can tell Arpita's parents that I agree to the marriage." he walked out after his announcement.

He had made that decision the previous night. It had been difficult for him with her in the house. And especially now that she was practically engaged. They had not been together since the night of Pari;s engagement party. They tried to avoid each other as much as possible. But that night he had been on the balcony and saw her going with Amaan. He had plans too but he cancelled them. He was no longer in the mood to go anywhere.

He heard a car pull up and went back to the balcony. Amaan got out of the car and opened the door for her. He said something to her and she burst out laughing. They walked to the door arm in arm and he kissed her on the cheek before she went inside.

She was smiling as she opened the door to her room. But that smile faded as she saw him standing there.

"What are you doing here? Get out of my bedroom."

"You are just a guest here. Along with your mother and sister."

"I have every bit as much right as you. I was given that right by your own father."

"I will never accept that. Both you and your mother are money hungry, status hungry women that would sell yourselves. So you couldn't have me, you went after my friend. Tell me have you had sex with him yet?"

"That is none of your business."

"So it's a yes."

"Yash, leave. I am tired. I want to get to bed."

"Fine let's get to bed. He yanked her and threw her on the bed. He lay down on top of her and started kissing her. She tried to fight back but he was too strong. She stopped fighting and he continued his onslaught. She just lay there and allowed him to remove her top and ravage her breasts.

Somewhere deep inside, as much as he hated her right then and as much as he wanted to punish her, her silent tears broke through his need to inflict pain. He stopped. He was disgusted with himself at what he was about to do. He looked at her, just lying on the bed, tears streaming down her face and looking away from him.

He left the room without saying anything. He had to get her out of his mind. The only way he could think of doing this was by getting married himself. He had been seeing Arpita on occasion and he knew that both her and her parents were keen for him to marry her. He had nothing to lose. He had lost everything dear to him already. His mother and his heart to a worthless woman.

Aarti had lain there for a while after he had left. She was astounded at the level to which their relationship had deteriorated. She had loved him so much once that she had given him everything thinking that the feeling is mutual. But at 18 she was young, nave and hopelessly in love.

As he said he made it special and they ensured that it would be safe. Their family had left to go to a wedding in Lahore and she had stayed behind on the pretext that she has an assignment to complete with Mansi. Mansi knew that she had plans but not with who. She took a cab to just outside of town where he waited for her in his car. He didn't have to make excuses or not going to the wedding as he did as he pleased even then. She got out of the cab and ran into his arms and he kissed her. They then took her luggage and drove further to a secluded farmhouse. It was beautiful and refreshing. The kitchen was well stocked and place was spotless.

He led her to the bedroom and kissed her. She was totally lost.

"I know you are hungry love. But first time for another kind of sustenance. Let's go to the kitchen."

"Did you bring me here to cook then?"

"No. You we already cooking before you came here. But for your information my love, I am an outstanding cook. My mother taught me very well."

They went to the kitchen. She wanted to help but he would not allow her. She sat and watched him with love-struck eyes while he was cooking. He was talking to her as if he was hosting a cooking show, explaining exactly how he was preparing the meal. Having her in stitches. She set the table for them and they had a lovely meal, hardly speaking but relishing each other's company more than the food.

"Excellent, Mr. Scindiya. Why do you never cook at home?"

He sobered a bit.

"There is no need."

"I see" she said not wanting the atmosphere to change.

"Can I please go shower now. I want to change into something more comfortable she said seductively."

"You do that ma'Am." he said as she stood up and kissed her hand.

She showered and changed into a white negligee. He was sitting on the bed when she came out of the bathroom.

He didn't have to say anything, his look said it all.

"You like?" she asked.

"I love." he said as he walked to her. He scooped her up and walked with her to her to the bed.

"I was planning on taking it slow, but you are making me lose my mind."

"Good, Mission accomplished."

"Shameless girl"

"Yes, and before I leave this place, I will be a shameless woman."

He looked at her intensely.

"Are you sure about this babe? I mean 100% sure. This is a very big thing and once done can't be undone."

"That is what I am counting on. And I have never been more sure of anything in my life."

He started to kiss her gently.

"I will be as gentle as possible baby, but there will still be pain."

"I know. I am ready."

He kissed her again and he lay her down and kissed her thoroughly and passionately. He moved down to her neck and breasts causing her to moan in pleasure. She didn't want pleasure to even. stop. He lifted the negligee over her head as his lips moved down to cause further havoc with her senses. She was still coming down from the high that he had taken her to, her body still convulsing and throbbing when he kissed her on the mouth. Tasting her on his mouth made it ever more erotic.

He had come prepared with lubricant and protection for her first time. He used them before he entered her slowly. She trusted him completely and her body was relaxed as he entered her, making the pain bearable and their first time was a sensuous and beautiful experience.

She cried in his arms afterwards.

"Aarti, are you ok?"

"Much better than ok."

"But you are crying."

"These are tears of joy, my love"

They managed to spend the whole weekend together. Going for walks, cooking together, going into the village to explore. And mostly made love. In every room of the house, on the table, on the couch, in the shower and bath, even outside on the lawn. It was like heaven. But clearly it didn't last. Now he hated her and all he wanted to do was hurt her. She didn't know how much more of this she could take.

She thought that she couldn't feel any more pain, but finding out he was getting married crushed her. She was depressed. She wished she wasn't at home. If she were not here, she would have been able to withdraw into herself and just stay in bed. But now she had to pretend that all was ok. She didn't even have a job to concentrate on anymore. She didn't even want to spend time with Amaan. She couldn't wait to be out of this house. And soon it would be the official engagement. And to make matters worse, her mother had the crazy idea that their engagements should be combined. The worst thing that could even happened to her. And she had no one to talk to.

He was making the right decision. Arpita was the right one for him. She was beautiful, sophisticated and her family was affluent. She had no need of his money or status. And he would be faithful to her forever. Not like his farther that substituted his mother for that woman. And even had proclaimed to love him but soon he realised that her love was conditional. And also transferrable it seems. Whenever he saw her with Amaan, she looked happy. As happy as she looked in those initial days when they were together. He envied Amaan and felt sorry for him at the same time. He had made sure that he was out of town for most of the time. He couldn't wait for the weddings to take place. She needed to get out of his house and he needed to get her out of his mind. He was sure once he made love to Arpita he would forget her. The only thing of concern was that his body did not react to Arpita like it did to her. None the less he was ready now, and he was on his way to get engaged.

She looked absolutely beautiful. He struggled to keep his eyes off her. She kept her head down. She didn't look at anyone. Finally he glanced at Arptita. She looked happy. She looked beautiful too but not as beautiful as Aarti and never as alluring. He felt haunted. He was angry with her and himself. But he had to get over himself and get on with things. This was his life now.

She couldn't look at anyone. She held her head down. Her heart was in pieces. As much as she had grown to love Amaan and their friendship had grown, he was not the man she wanted to be sitting next to her right now. And if she looked at anyone, they would see the agony on her face. And she couldn't do that to her dearest bff. He didn't deserve it. And he didn't deserve what she was going to give him.

They were standing outside in a secluded spot and she clung to him as she sobbed. He held her tightly, feeling her pain as intensely as she did.

"Don't worry baby. It will all work out. You know they say true love will find a way. I will be with you through this. I won't leave you now, we can face this together."

Suddenly she was pulled away from him.

"Yash, what are doing demanded Amaan." looking at the angry Yash.

He looked at her with so much disgust.

"You couldn't even wait. You had to do this right here. S**t"

"Yash, have you gone mad. How dare you speak to her like that?'

"How dare I? I know exactly what she is."

He looked at her and demanded,

"Does he know? Have you told him that you are not a virgin? Have you told him that? Have you told him how you used to sneak into my bedroom at night? Have you told him that we slept together as recently as couple of weeks ago?"

She stepped forward and slapped him.

"He knows everything. And so does everyone else now, thanks to you."

He turned around and saw his family as well as Amaan and Arpita;s behind them.

He was shocked.

"Take me away from here, Amaan please."

He took her hand and walked past their families and they got into his car and drove off.

They had both ignored their parents calling them as they walked. And she knew they would be hell to pay, but for now she needed to just get away.

A real thriller this is turning out to be B. I hope that after they recover from Yash's outburst, all families will agree to maintain status quo and have the weddings proceed as planned. Yash made Aarti look really cheap, she used to sneak to his bedroom but forgot he recently almost raped her?

Wishful thinking on my part. Poor Aarti she's going to face some backslash when she returns.
