Chapter 22

As the days turned into weeks, weeks turned into months the friend ships grew stronger and stronger between the kids, Yash's teenage love for his Aarti grew. Aarti's bond with her mother grew they spoke or chatted via the net or emailed every day {People this is the late nineties no skype or texting as Yet} They spoke about everything Aarti felt more comfortable speaking to her about the teenage problems while she loved the Sharmas ladies she still felt embarrassed to discuss some things with them but with Aaripta she felt so comfortable it was like discussing it with her best friend.

Mansi on the other hand was a complete sister to her teasing her at every opportunity she got. The mothers loved their daughters a lot and they encouraged then to explore their love for different things Mansi loved fashion she wanted to be a designer/ stylist she loved jewellery, all accessories and make up she is a girly girl, Mansi did anything to avoid going outside to get sun burn, and damaged skin while Aarti is and outdoor girl she loved sports, nature, sketching, painting, and writing in her journal stories, and poems which she shared with Yash he also shared these same hobbies they had lots of fun just being together silently observing a sunset, or a moonlight night. Horseback riding, they both loved writing, sketching small gifts for each other. Their birthdays came Aarti now a fourteen year old beauty, Yash a handsome seventeen year old boy.

They celebrated the new year together it was both a happy and sad time for them Yash in a few months would be leaving for London for University they would only meet during the summer brakes until it was time next three years for Aarti to join him there. Aarya decided that they will make as much memories during these innocent teenage years. Aman is also enrolled at the same university his leaving for London cause the girls and Prateek some sadness. Prateek "My Bhayias are leaving me with these naughty girls who will save me from their pranks? Mansi didi wiil force me to be her model not to mention Aarti didi she will chase me around with her hockey stick if I don't agree with her." He pretended to cry. "Yes and you forgot we are going to make you our own personal slave you have to go shopping with us a carry our bags " said Mansi continuing laughing" and give Aarti didi massages on her arms, and feet after a hockey game." "You see bhayias I am doomed! " said the twelve year old Prateek making a sad funny face going down on his knees begging for mercy from all. "don't leave me with this she devils I might end up as a fashion model or Bollywood actor if Mansi didi have her way, or a sports doctor and physio therapist if Aarti didi have her way" now all the kids were laughing even Prateek he loved his didi but being the youngest they loved using him as their own personal toy their possession to do what they want. Prateek loved all the attention and he willingly and gladly did everything asked of him.

The month before the Yash and Aman left for university the families agreed for the kids to spend it at the ancestral home of the Scindhias in Indore, this was Aarti happiest moments to return to the orphanage visit with Shoba ma and Dubey papa, she even carried her doggie donut with her for the holidays. The kids had fun exploring the area and the surrounding villages getting back to roots as SP and his father termed it. Yash used this time to find out Aarti's feelings about him leaving for university aboard.

They were sitting close to the river bank watching the village ladies washing their clothes "Aarti life here is so uncomplicated the parents work to ensure the happiness of their family two meals per day and a safe place to live, they educate their children to the best of their abilities. I have to leave home go so far away from my family and love ones in order to complete my education just like Pankaj bhayia before I can work in my families business. These people they learn everything here and they work close to their home they are truly the lucky ones" sad Yash with a hint of sadness in his voice " Yash these people are simple people their life are simple farmers, labours, craftsmen those who leave for the sake of education some leave and never return some return as teachers. You are the son of a wealthy businessman with factories throughout the world, it is expected that you join the family business with your brothers, and become a business leader, you have to go Yash it is your responsibility to carry on your family's legacy as leaders." Aarti replied "it is your responsibility also Aarti to carry out Akash uncle ji legacy too.' Was Yash instance reply "But I am a girl there is a difference you are a son of an influential family people depend on your families decisions to maintain their lifestyle. No one knows that I am my parents child and besides people looks up to the men more than women in this society the men are valued more." Was her simple answer "things are changing Aarti and we must be prepared for the change" Yash replied "I will join you in London for my education Yash in just three years we both have this opportunity to learn so much acquire new experiences that we will use to help people here. I will miss you terrible but we can email and web chat then would be the summer holidays that we will spend together. You will see my Yashu how quickly the time apart will pass." Aarti said leaning her head on his shoulder "Yash do you think we will grow apart that you might get yourself a girlfriend there and forget about your best friend "asked Aarti who sat up looking at him in the eyes "I mean you are becoming a young man now your feelings might change for me when you meet all those beautiful girls from different parts of the world" My dear Aarti I am going over there to study not to party or for girlfriends, besides my family only allows arranged marriages chosen by my elders was his quick answer. "So that leaves me out because I choose you as my future husband, and this is a love relationship" Aarti laughed hitting him playfully on his shoulders "Aarti you may be surprised we might just end up together for ever with our very own little Yashu, and Aaru " he laughed hoping she takes this as a light hearted joke and don't see the seriousness in his eyes or she might get scared of this very adult feelings he has for her.

It was decided that they will celebrate Aarya's birthday before Yash leaves so a grand bash was planned double celebration their early birthday celebration and farewell party for Yash, and Aman. Yash is now an eighteen year old young man, and Aarti fifteen years girl all their relatives and friends were invited. The birthday cake was cut Aarya shared the first piece as they always do dancing and socialising Yash never went far away from his Aarti. This was an adult celebration with Yash and Aman having their first taste of alcohol to the amusement of Aarti, Mansi Prateek. Aman wanted to dance and talk nonstop while Yash just sat there and stared at Aarti then he started to cry because he was leaving her behind and begging her not to forget him. "Wow! They only had one drink a taste at that and this is how they behave. I am never drinking anything alcoholic in my life" said an amused Aarti holding her Yashu up Prateek came to her assistance "Didi lets carry him to his room and I will stay with him" Pankaj noticed them struggling with Yash and he came to their rescue "My poor bhai that was too much for him let him sleep it off". When they entered his room Pankaj helped him get ready for bed and the thirteen year old Prateek stayed with his dear older brother as there will be no more opportunities in the future for them to share a room so he wanted to be close to his brother like when they were kids. Aman was given a guest room the girls were also given a room for the night. The kids wanted to spend every possible minute together before their year long separation. Two days after the boys left for England it was a day filled of mixed emotions for AarYa they would miss being in each others presence but the both realised that they needed this space for them to grow and explore there changing lives.

Yash, and Aman settled into their hostel and routine of collage life, the life here was different from back home there were servants and their family here they had to do everything for themselves. These were very handsome and had sexy bodies soon there were girls throwing themselves at them who just would not take no for an answer. While Aman learned to enjoy all the attention and flirted away with many girls as possible, Yash was a challenge he was not interested and that was that. These same girl started spreading rumours that maybe he is gay this did not bother him one bit but it opened for another problem the gay men started their moves on him to which Yash politely stopped them in their tracks. Aman also came to his bhayia's defence stating to all he is not interested so kindly move the hell on to your next target.

Yash was very focused study get his degrees and return home to his Aarti, every day they would web chat and email each other sharing the events of their days, and once per week they would call and talk for a hour.

Prateek pestered his family into visiting his buaji in Trinidad for the spring break/ Easter holidays [I don't Know how the school holidays are in India but I am using our here}.his dada ji and dadi ji accompanied him while his Parents visited Yash in England along with Aman's parents. Mansi, and Aarti visited Deli at Aarti parent's home.

In Trinidad

The family had lots of fun Maya was a changed woman she made new friends and even started experimenting in wearing western clothes. The girls were close to her she turned out to be a good mother and friend to them, Prashant also developed a relationship with her Maya taught him some manners where it came to interacting with girls, his relationship with his father changed because now his father was happy with Maya his first love.

Prashant asked when they were alone "Prateek how is Aarti has she gotten more beautiful?" Prateek said "Bhayia why are you so interested in her there are many pretty girls here who's their parents are also from India" "Because she is a one of a kind not only is she beautiful but I can see the kindness and love she has in her eyes>" Prashant asked "So why did you attack her last time you visited us that he beat you up bhayia?" asked an innocent Prateek "Because I was foolish and I wanted her to be my girlfriend you are a teenager now don't you like girls and dream what it would be like to kiss them on their lips, to hold a girl in your arm?" asked Prashant "Bhayia I am still a kid I am not ready for that mushy stuff, and we are suppose too respect girls not attack them by trying to kiss them." Was Prateek innocent answer he continued "When you visit us next year for dadaji's and dadiji anniversary don't try anything with my didi I will be bigger and I am going to protect her by giving you some of my karate moves " and he demonstrated a move for Prashant, much to the amusement of Prashant's sisters who loved the easy going, fun loving Prateek.

In London

The Sharmas and the Scindhias shared an apartment the boys moved in for the holidays, the mothers were only too happy to cook for their sons whom they claimed were to thin and looked weak from lack of home food. The boys had fun with their parents catching up on all the details that they missed; they were introduced to the different business acquaintances of both the Sharmas, and Scindhias and it seems all the families always have a daughter they wanted married to one of the boys.

They went shopping and Yash choose some gifts for the girls, western outfits with accessories because he knows Mansi loves it and she will convince Aarti to wear them, he asked his mother and auntie to send pictures of Aarti in her western clothes for him. Yash missed Aarti a lot it was visible in his speech, and general body language. Yash's parents noticed the small changes in him he had become a bit more mature in his thinking but his love for Aarti did not change in fact it grew, he told about all the different girls throwing themselves at both him and Aman, how they started a rumour about him being gay when he showed no interest in them.

Prateek and their grandparents returned to England and they all spent two day together before leaving to India.

At Aarti Parents home

The girls spent two wonderful weeks with Aarti's parents shopping to Mansi's delight and Aarti's disgust but her mama loved to shop so she went along. They visited parks, historical sites Aarti loved spending time with her family they also spent time with Akash's chacha, chichi and their family. Neda loved showing off her things to the girls and speaking of her travels aboard, she was a good friend to them but a bit stuck up because of her dadiji influence.

Akash's relative started their planning to attack Akash once again this time using Aarti who they suspected was their child but they did not realize that this was the opportunity that Akash was waiting for to catch them red handed on have them punished for all their crimes and the list was very long, there were evidence stacked up against them .

"Akash beta why don't you speak to the Sharmas and ask for these two lovely young ladies to become the bahus of our family" asked his chachiji one day "I Know they are still young but we can arrange for their marriage in a few year time they will be a welcomed addition to our family, and you and Aripta bahu already love them as your daughters." Continued the cunning old lady.

"Chachi what are you saying they are children yet who need to complete their education, they want to work and enjoy life before marriage you know they are modern girl." Said Aripta "Modern girl have to marry some day and I am certain their family have taught them about following traditions they will be good for our family's future" continued chichi ji "We will think about it chachi ma and discuss it with their parents but nothing is certain so I suggest you all keep looking for suitable bahus " said an amused Akash with a slight smile he knew that his chichi was baiting him for a response to confirm that Aarti is his daughter.

When everyone returned to Bhopal there was so much to share especially about the boys and their new life in London.
