Chapter 2

Yash kept the wet towel on Aarthi's forehead. It was soon dried due to fever. He got worried. He stopped his work and wet the towel and kept and this continued for some time till her fever went down.

After some time Aarthi opened her eyes with great difficulty.

She wondered where she is. She then became familiar with her surroundings. She is in Yash's room. She tried to get up.

" You better lie down. You are not well. You had high fever."

"I'm ok now. Thank you. I need to go to my room."

"You can stay in my room."

"No need and thank you for the offer." Aarthi replied back.

She tried to get up and found herself weak and sat down on the bed.

"I told you that you can stay here."

"I too said no need."

"Tell me what the reason you have to work so much is?"

Aarthi looked at him.

"Doctor said you got fever due to your tiredness. He said that you have worked without rest. You have everything here, you can just sit and enjoy."

"It's none of your business. This is my life and I can do whatever I like with my life."

"I just gave you a solution. No need to be rude. Wo ..I need to say something. I'm sorry for shouting at you last night and thank you for the dinner. My friends enjoyed it. Drink this medicine. You will feel better." He said while handing over the medicines.

" Doctor asked you to rest for a week. So you better inform your office that you are not coming for one week."

" Thank you for your concern. I'll pay the amount you spend on the doctor. Now I need to go to my room."

"Ok let me help you."

"No I can walk." She stood up holding the bed and slowly walked towards her room. She felt so weak and was about to fall when Yash caught her. He carried her and took her to her room in spite of her protesting.

"Now stay here. I'll bring you some food. You are so weak."

"No I can make on my own."

"Dare you leave the bed?" Said Yash glaring at her.

Aarthi stopped herself as she too felt that she's too weak to fight back.

Yash worked from home for three days and meanwhile he took care of Aarthi too.

After three days as Aarthi was feeling much better Yash thought to go to the office.

"Aarthi today I'm going to office. You better stay in my room. Nakul will bring your food on time and you take your medicines on time."

"I'll stay in my room and will go down for food when I need to."

"You better go to my room otherwise I'll carry you and go."

Aarthi just got up walked slowly to Yash's bed.

"Thank you for taking care of me now I can manage."

Yash nodded and went to his office.

"He took care of me when I was sick. At least that is good. My parents didn't do that when I was sick and I had to take care of me alone. How I wish I got my parents love. What to do? Papa was busy with his work and mama just loved my two sisters and not me. How I craved for her love when they kept their heads on her lap, how I craved for her love when she fed me and not me. How I wish my mother took care of me when I was sick like the way she did to my sisters. Ha! What will I gain thinking about it when I'm not destined to be loved? When Yash took care of me in these days I got some hope but I'm scared to hope as whenever happiness reaches me something come like a shadow and snatch it."

She was deeply engrossed with her thoughts when her phone rang. She picked it up. It's from her office and they asked her whether she can come to office today as there were some urgent matter rise up and they need her at office. Being her workaholic and honest in work she couldn't deny. Though she felt weak she called a cab and got ready and went to office.

Yash came home as he had forgotten to take a file to office to see Aarthi is not in her bedroom. He rushed down and asked Nakul.

"Nakul, where is Aarthi?"

"Sir, Aarthi ma'am said she has some urgent work in the office and went."

"Damn, what does she think about herself? Is she a superwoman? When doctor asked her to rest for one week she went to the office." Thought Yash, leaving from the kitchen.

"I must call her and see but...I don't know her number or where she works. I only know her name not anything other than that. Now what to do? Rather stay till she comes back."

Aarthi came late in the evening and found Yash in his room.

She just ignored his presence and started to go to her room.

"Where were you? Don't you know that you are sick?"

"Yash please. I'm having a terrible headache and I can't argue now. If you want to know why I went to office ok listen. There was some urgent matter which they needed my advice. So went there."

Yash sighed in anger.

"Couldn't you inform me?"

"Why should I? You are no one to me and I am no one to you."

"Great. I was worried about you and your health."

"Why do you worried about me when I'm nothing to you."

"Aarthi, humanity. If Nakul was in your place I would do the same."

"Ok then don't worry about me now. I'm better and please let me rest."

Aarthi left to her room.

After sometime she went to bed. Soon she fell asleep due to headache and tiredness."

Yash came in and saw her. He touched her forehead to check whether she's fine. He found that she's again having fever and took her to his room and called the doctor. Doctor checked her.

"I think I advised her to take rest and why does she look tired? Now see she's having fever again. If this goes like this I will admit her to the hospital. I will give her some medicine. Let her rest completely for one week."

After doctor left Yash kept the wet towel on her forehead. He did till the fever is reduced.

Aarthi opened her eyes after some time and saw Yash sitting beside her. She looked at him.

"How are you now?" Asked Yash.

Aarthi wondered whether she's dreaming.

He asked again.

"How are you now?" She was about to sit up.

"Lie down Aarthi. Now you will stay here for one week and dare you leave the bed. This is what happens when you disobey."

Aarthi was weak to fight back so she just laid down.

Yash fed her soup and medicine and took care of her. During the night Yash slept in the couch and Aarthi on Yash's bed. Though Yash insisted Aarthi didn't like the idea of staying in Yash's room as she wanted to stay alone in her room. She tried hard to convince her to let her go to her room. Coz that way no one will see her tears which she hid from the world and let go in the night. She broke down in night but she showed a strong face in front of the whole world. So for the world she's a strong girl but only she knows how much she shed tears. As Yash did not let her go to her room for a week she had to stay in his room. She felt suffocated to stay there. Where her hopes shattered down for the last time. She cannot cry as she feared Yash will see them. She doesn't want to be weak in front of Yash.

A week later Aarthi was ok and got ready to leave for her job.

"Are you ok now Aarthi?"

"Yes, thank you for what you did for me."

"It's ok. Shall drop you on my way?"

"No thank you. I can go in a cab."

"Ok. Can I have your phone number?"

"For what?" Asked Aarthi.

"Don't get wrong ideas. I just wanted it in case I need to contact you."

"You don't have to repeat that Yash. I know what this marriage is. Ok give me your number I'll give a ring cut so you can save the number."

After that they parted away.

Aarthi came to office and was greeted by her best friends Meera and Mansi.

"Oh Aarthi, how are you now?" Asked Meera.

"Meera she's fine. She got one week leave to be with her hubby. Am I right Aarthi? Who can leave such a handsome husband?"

"Mansi if your teasing session is over I need to go for my work." Aarthi went saying this.

"Seems like there is some problem. She was against this marriage from the beginning and.."

"I too feel like that. Let's ask her during the lunch break."

"Yup let's"

During the lunch break two friends confronted Aarthi but they couldn't get anything from her. Aarthi too had to hide as they (Aarya) both promised each other not to disclose anything about their marriage to anyone. Aarthi knew how Mansi is like. If she sees something against her friend she will create a storm. So she just said she's still feeling weak.

After that she got busy with the work whole day. She was the marketing manager and she faced all the challenges she got as the marketing manager to bring the company to its position. She's hard worker and the best employ in the company. She didn't let her troubles destroy her career but made sure her troubles become her strength for her career. Truly she worked hard to forget her troubles so she doesn't have time to worry about them.

It was tiring day for Aarthi but as soon as she came home she had a wash and went to kitchen to prepare dinner. While she was preparing dinner Yash too entered the house and saw that she's cooking.

Yash went there.

"What the hell are you doing here? Do you want to show the servants that I'm a bad husband and take work from you when you just get well?"

"Yash, I had no intention for that and I loved cooking."

"We have a cook."

Just then Nakul came and heard the last part of their conversation.

"Sorry sir, but ma'am is the one who cooked dinner every day."

Yash got shocked and looked at Aarthi.

"You don't need to cook till you are completely ok."Yash said and went away.

Aarthi also was too stubborn she too cooked and went to her room.

"I think I asked you not to cook till you are completely ok."

"I'm completely ok now and you don't have to bother about me."

"I'm not bothered about you and I can't take leave all the time."

"Who asked you to take leave? I said I can take care of me alone. I'm used to it."

"yh I saw how you took care of you and ended up in sick bed."

"So why you bother? When I'm no one to you? Don't say that you love me."

Yash looked at her.

"I'm not scared of your looks. I'm not your employ or..."

"Enough Aarthi. Whatever I did is out of humanity. I explained to you earlier I would do the same if it was nakul in your place."

"Then remember I cook not only for you Nakul and for others too as I think they also in family. They have something what you don't have."

"What is that?" Yash smiked.
