part1

No maa I can't do that. Please try to understand me. Aarti repeated her resisting pleas to the extend she could. She was always against the talks of her marriage. She disliked marrying n indeed it had a strong reason.

Aarti, please there is no other way. Today at any cost u have to obey me n ur father. Shobha talked to her 25 year old daughter. Aarti is a designer cum painter. She was quite happy with her present living. But it had been a few days since Shobha iscontinuously disturbing her with the same topic.

satyendra came quite discreetly towards her and said Beti there is no other way so please agree. The Scindias are so powerful. They have messed up our life.

Now Aarti started crying; added to her anger. And shouted at her father. Bauji it's ur fault. Ur greed for money has brought this misfortune. How could u use ur own daughter as a bait for business matters. My dreams are shattering.

am I such a puppet for all of u to play with. Don't force me to do this please.

First and foremost I have no intentions of getting married. I had made it clear to u many times that i dislike men. They are all the same useless stupid fellows. I'm neither going to be a slave under a man nor going to bear their humiliations. Please leave me alone. And another thing I don't like the family of Scindia. Rich! and sooo proud.

No beti, Gayathri is a very kind woman sh e will take good care of u. She considers in-laws as her own. Do u know Vidhi their elder daughter in law. Gayathri treats her as her own daughter n vidhi considers her as her own mother.

Suraj ji is little arrogant. But I believe that his wife has changed him into a human. Her kindness and tenderness have changed him. Their three sons are well educated and well mannered

Now maa stop this. Don't try to change my mind. I can't take it more. i know this man Mr. Scindia. He is a demon in the business field. Was ready to do any dirty things for money.And I'm sure his sons won't fall below that grade.

Beti they are all fake storys. His enemies tried to trap him. Before marriage he was arrogant but he never harassed anyone physically.though he was rude on terms of money. Now he has changed. Shobha told.

Satyendra hushed Aarti. Now it's enough . You have just had ur tea after ur return. Now go n freshen ur self. And think about it with a fresh mind. Now his tone turned serious. DON'T THINK THAT WE WILL LET U UNMARRIED FOREVER. ONE DAY OR THE OTHER U HAVE TO HAVE A LIFE PARTNER. REMEMBER THIS IS A PROPOSAL THAT CAME TO OUR SIDE . A GOOD ONE.

Aarti became more agitated and she tried to raise her voice while her mother pushed her into her room.

Part 2

Today morning seemed to be pleasant. But at that time she didn't realize that she will have to face a hectic day all of a sudden. The sun rays that peeped into her room through the window had something different to say to her. now she understood what it meant. The secret was that today she is really trapped. One day, if more two ... By that time she has to give her opinion YES or NO.

A no would probably mean, end of everything, even her life. So she would have to give a positive reply.

"But...but the promise that I made would broke. How would I live under the same roof with the people whom I dislike. How could I allow someone else to interfere in my matters. I always wished to be single. No family no children. N there could be no man to control her. They consider girls as someone whom they can play pranks with. You won't get Aarti for that."

Aarti's thoughts pondered in a way uncontrollably. She felt lost. So helpless.Today she did something unusual; a short bath. Usually she takes long. She felt like her whole body melt away with that water. The instant shiver brought a pain in her heart. Thats why she made the shower a quick one.

In the hall Shobha was talking with her husband. "Ji will she be able to live this married life."

Saty: She is a matured girl Shobha. Time has come for her to become a wife.

Shob: That could be okay. but she is in denial mode. She is not interested in a married life and she doesn't like to have a relationship with a son in the Scindia mansion.

Saty: The situation is really bad Shobha. There are financial problems. We had a terrible loss in the business line. We lost many contracts n most of them directly or indirectly affected the Scindias. Almost 30 lakhs' transactions. They are not going to bear such a heavy loss.. Somehow I managed to give them a little. But that was not all that they wanted, they asked for our daughter's hand for their son. It has become more like a business deal than a family bond to handover our only child Shobha. You can't understand I'm living with a heavy heart. I had many expectations regarding her marriage. It should be a grant and proud event for us as being parents. But here I'm a coward.

Shob: It is our bad time thats why all turned up badly.

Saty: Please Shobha, make her understand. We all know him. He is a nice guy. He will take good care of Aarti. So now you please go to her room.

Aarti in her room, fully lost, was looking intently at the moon. The moon was shining brightly with the perfect shape of a disc. There were a few twinkling stars. Aarti doubted if they were making fun of her pathetic situation. It is like hell submitting to this marriage. A forced marriage. But if it won't happen then how could his father survive. How will they lead the rest of the life. They are also getting aged and at this phase of life they only want happiness. and peace. She knows that her parents want to see her happy. And they had tried a lot to fulfill her wish. But now all the things are out of hand. She wants to see her parents happy. She has some duties towards them. If she is to still stay rooted to her grounds of not having marriage. then it would mean hurting her parents.And if it is the other way then only a single person's life would be ???? Aacha a daughter to sacrifice her life for their parents.

Shobha entered Aarti's room. She was seated at the table near the window where she was switching 'on' and 'off' the table lamp. She saw her mother taking a seat beside her from the corner of her eye. She put her hands on Aarti's right palm.

Shobha panic-kingly tried to start a conversation with her already depressed daughter.

Shob: Aarti be calm. Try to understand. Marriage is not the end of the world. It is something heavenly. It is the greatest of all relationship, where a man and woman agree to share each others feelings, happiness and sadness. A relation purely made of trust, sacrifice and love.

So Aarti be practical and smart. You must change ur mind. Ur heart tells not to get married. But I know deep down in ur mind, at least due to circumstances u wish to get married- [Shobha passed a half hearted smile] -FOR UR PARENTS. No never take it that way Aarti. It is all for your own good. Afterall ur going to live with humans only, not any animals.

It will take a little time to get used to everything. Aarti let out a deep sign.

Shobha tried to smile and continued. Yash is a good person He will take good care of you. He is a person who can understand what others feel.

Aarti's head was bowed , all the while. She blinked letting a droplet of tear to fall on her mother's hand. Suddenly Shobha withdrew her hand. Aarti slowly paced towards the open balcony of her room. The mystery to be relieved soon.
