Shobha smiled at her little daughter...after Gayatri she is fulfilling the role of a mother to Yash.. he has become very quiet and kept to himself! Shobha being the best friend of Gayatri agreed to this...Yash is her son also! She cupped Aarti's face!

"Yash akela hain na beta...tujhe to sab pata hai!"(Yash is lonely and you know everything)

"umm...Yash ki mumma god ke paas gayi hain?" she said it cutely!

"umm...isiliye he keeps quiet!!! Aisa to acha nahi hai na...you have to be with him sweety"

She listened her mother intently!!!.

Aarti nodded. she hardly understood what Shobha's words meant...but she had it in her mind "use kabhi akela mat chodna..."

Yash and Aarti came running and hid under the table!!! He was 10 and she was 9 now! Aarti was the only friend he had...the only person with whom he can open up! As for Aarti madame...she loved bossing over him everytime..and he gave is easily..actually listened to her every command..every order!!!!

Shobha came shouting.

"AARTI...BAHAR NIKAL TU... AARTI...GET OUT ON THE COUNT OF 3 OR ELSE...3...2...1.."

Both of them slowly came out looking down!!!!

"AARTI... What is this? Teri shararat har din badhti jaa rhai hain?(Your naughtyness is increasing day by day) Why did you do that?"

She gave a cheeky smile "mumma...meine ball phenka..it hit the vase and broke!"

"enough..this is the 10^{th thing you have broken in this whole week...seriously I need to send you to a boarding school!"}

After Shobha was gone, Yash poked her shoulder!

It was always this way...though Aarti was very naughty, she always took his faults on her head...she just didn't want him to feel low..thats it! And it so happened that Shobha was fed up with Aarti's naughtiness!!! She hit students in her school..princi called up Shobha. she never listened to anyone. it was tough for Shobha to handle house and the two kids simultaneously and finally when Aarti was in 6th std...12 yrs old..she was sent to a boarding school in shimla!

Yash pleaded but he also feared Shobha as a mother! He was a kid too...he couldn't have done much. He cried the day she left. But she didn't!!!! she had a confidence on her face!!!

Shobha knew the way she bosses over Yash...and keeps on defending him all the time..he won't be able to flourish! Its time Yash and Aarti needed to flourish on their own!!!! And this was the best way!!!!

"use kabhi akela mat chodna Aarti...he need us..he needs you!!!!"

NEXT DAY IN SHIMLA

Pari opened her eyes yawning. It was 7am and she was a late riser! But somehow managed to wake up early today! After all, they'd be going back home today!

She started packing her stuffs when she got her call!

Pratik: hey Pari yaar am so excited. Can you believe it we made it to the Xavier OMG all three of us"

Pari bit back, "yeah right..tu padhne thode jaa raha hai..tu tho un stupid girls ko check out karne jaa raha hai!! (Yeah right you are not going there to study but to check out girls)

Pratik: ahh jealous han Maan bhi jaa Pari that you like me in fact you had a crush on me since std 7th!

Pari: ha ha itna sada hua PJ tha! By the way tu itni subah kaise uth gaya aaj? (How did you wake up so early today)

Pratik: ohh teri bhool gaya Aarti uthi ke nahi? She has all my certificates and forms I need them!

Pari: saale aaj tak apni cheezein khud nahi rakh sakta? Hold kar 2 minI need to wake her up! (Idiot you cannot keep you things with you till today wait I need to wake her up)

She put the phone little away from her and shouted, "AARTI.uth jaaaj waapis nahi jaana kya (do you want to go back)? Yash bechara would be waiting for you.."

She hard roops shouting, trying to wake her up. She covered her head with the duvet and screamed out, "dilli abhi dur hai bhaiyya sone do mujhe!"

Pari rolled her eyes!

Pari: Pratik..tu phone rakh, am going to wake her up. Waise flight kitne baje ki hain? (Pratik you keep the phone I will wake her up. When is the flight)

Pratik: its at 3 pm. You guys meet me at the airport okay and yeah tell Aarti to get my things okay!

Pari went to wake up our gundi. She pulled off the duvet and tried waking her up. She twisted and rolled to the other side of the bed and slept off. Finally getting no success, Pari emptied the entire glass of water on her. she sat up screaming, "kaminiii..couldn't you haven woken me up an hour later? Its so early!"

Pari: serves you right Aarti! Aaj ghar jaana hai..yaad nahi? Tada kal orientation ceremony bhi hai.. (Do you remeber we are going back and tomorrow is the orientation)

Aarti seemd least interested. She could still manage to yawn in that condition. And then it struck Pari.

Pari (naughtily): umm..teri marzi bhai. Waise bhi Yash won't be waiting for you I guess!

That worked. Aarti jumped off the bed and ran to the washroom screaming, " pehle kyun nahi bataya mujhe han (Why didnt you wake me before)? Oh god if he won't be waiting na phir to uski khar nahi!"

Pari couldn't stop smiling. True, she had never ever seen Yash, but she knew him pretty well, all thanks to Aarti. And this Aarti she is one crazy girl. Take Yash's name and she'd be right on her feet, ready to fight the whole world.

Pari had met Aarti in std 6th in hostel and they shared the same room. They had become very close friends close indeed! Pratik joined then in std 7th and he stayed in the boys hostel. The three were the "pakke friends" "jigri dost" types and the three worked real hard to get into Xavier and luckily, all the three got into Xavier Delhi. And look at the conspiracy of nature Yash was already there!

Damn! He couldn't meet her. she reached around 7pm and now its 11! His cell beeped and a smile adored his face.

Arpita: Yash, Arthi aa chuki hain kya? Aap unse mile? (Did Arthi arrive? Have you meet her?)

Yash: kahan yaar madam apne darshan de tab na! (Not yet, would be able to see her only if she appears) she went to mumma's place and I couldn't see her.

Arpita: phir you could have gone to Shobha auntie's place no?

Yash hit his head with his other hand!

Yash: why the hell I didn't think of it before?

Arpita laughed, Yash, aap bhi na..kya karte rehte ho?" (you... What you keep doing)

Yash: ohh god, how can I be so stupid? It had completely slipped out of mind.

Arpita: khair chodiye, you can meet her tomorrow. Orientation ceremony hai na! ab aap soo jaiyehum phone rakhte hain..maa bula rahi hain! (leave it you can meet her tomorrow in college, lets sleep its to let and lets disconnect the call mom is calling)

Yash: acha suno.. (ok listen)

Arpita: ji..

Yash: kal shaam free ho? Hum coffee ke liye chalet hain! (Are you free tomorrow should we go out for coffee)

Oh god she was feeling so conscious now. He actually asked her for a date!

Arpita: wo..kal..shaam..

Yash: koi problem hain?

Arpita: umm pata nahi I'l confirm tomorrow..

Yash (sad): umm okay..

She could feel the disappointment in his voice!

Arpita: please Yash.. . naraz mat ho.. acha hum rakhte hain..maa kab se bula rahi hain..bye! (please dont be disappointed, ok will keep the phone, mom is calling from a long time)

COLLEGE

The whole campus flocked with people. New students arriving, seniors leaving no chance to rag them..there was a carnival out there! Arthi, Pari and Pratik stepped into the gates together. Pratik had stayed in the college hostel while Pari with her family in Delhi. There was so much thrill, so much excitement. Some seniors gave them evil looks. Pratik gulped hard!

Pratik: yaar aaj bure phanse.. (today we are in trouble)

Pari: seriously, mujhe to inke iraade theek nahi lagte (I am not getting good vibes)

Pratik: Pari, chal waapis chalet hain (lets go back) god knows what will they make us do!

Arthi heard them and rolled her eyes. She had a very different thought all together! She walked ahead and turned to them.

"tum logon ko ho kya gaya hai? (what has happened to you guys) Why the hell are you so scared? Pari, I know Pratik is a bheegi billi, par tujhe kya hua hai aaj?" (what has happened to you)

Pratik: Arthi yaar insult mat kar tu meri (dont insult me)

Arthi: to kya teri aarthi utaru? Seriously guys..life mein sirf ek baar rag hone ka chance milta hai..knock knock SIRF EK BAAR to enjoy being ragged na! why are you getting scared?

Some 2nd years were passing by and they heard Arthi say so and quietly stood behind her, listening intently. Pari and Pratik gulped hard seeing them. Pari gestured her to turn back with her eyes.

Arthi: kya hain? (what happened)

Pratik: te..tere peechey.. (look back)

Arthi: mere peechey kya hain? (what is behind me)

She turned to see some guys standing with a smirk. They hovered around her.

Guy1: so..you're not scared?

Arthi directly looked into his eyes, "of what?"

wow..this girl has guts!

Guy2: are you ready?

She understood they have heard her!

Arthi: try me!

Guy1: okay done! The dean will be arriving anytime soon. Here take this bucket of water and make sure he is wet from the tip of his hair to the tip of his toe! Consequences at your own risk baby!

They put the bucket full of water in front of her. she didn't reply for a while!

Guy 1: afraid?

Arthi: my foot!

Woah the guys were flat right there! She picked up the bucket and stood near the parking lot. Pari and Pratik stood quietly watching her.

Pratik nudged Pari, " aaj to ye gayi! 1st day is going to be her last day!"

Pari: shut up and go to hell! She'll pull it off!

The dean parked his car and slowly walked towards his office. Arthi stood beside a car, all set to execute her plan with 100% efficiency. The dean got a call and he stood a few feet away from Arthi, talking. He hadn't notice her while Arthi madam was all set. She closed her eyes, took a deep breath in, "on you marks..get set go"

SPLASH!!!!

She slowly opened her eyes hey where was the dean? She found someone standing in front of her drenched from the tip of his hair to the tip of his toe! The 2nd years ran away seeing a 3rd year being the scapegoat. They hid behind the cars in the parking lot to see the consequence.

Yash was startled at the sudden cold shower he received! He glared at the girl who dared to do that to him. And his eyes met hers! He was so amazed he could recognize her anytime and anywhere possible! But then the great Yash Sindhiya drenched she was sooo dead!

He gritted his teeth, "Arthi."

She looked at him in surprise and then a wide smile followed!

Arthi (naughtily): oops galti se mistake ho gayi!

Yash: galti se mistake han..ruk..abhi batata hoon..

She showed him her tongue and ran away. He followed.

Yash: aaj tujhe chodunga nahi.. (wont leave you today)

She laughed and ran all around the college, dashing with people around. He ran after her..fast. ohh god..they couldn't stop laughing. He finally managed to hold her and pull her back by her waist and hugged her tight, lifting her off her feet. She hugged him back giggling. Finally..she met him!!! She felt she was finally back home!!!

He twirled her around and placed her on her feet and cupped her face, "I missed you sooo much!"

"same here!"

He took a step back and looked at her carefully!

"tu kitni badi ho gayi hain" (you have grown up)

She smiled naughtily, "kya karun..aur koi option bhi to nahi tha naa!" (what to do didnt had any other option)

"nautanki.."

She hugged him tight again, with a beautiful smile adoring her lips!!!
