TUBE TALK 'Debina and I aren't experts'

Gurmeet and Debina will be competing with other star couples on Season 6 of Nach Baliye

Gurmeet Choudhary and wife Debina Bonnerjee will set the dance floor afire this season on Nach Baliye. As we catch up with the couple, they admit the rehearsals have them on their toes all the time but it's worthwhile since they get to spend so much time together.

Debina says, "If I was dancing with anybody else, I would have been more alert and conscious all the time. With my husband, I can afford to be more relaxed. He is very protective and gets more scared than me if I have to do a difficult lift. I have to ask him to relax. The best part is that we understand each other's needs."

Gurmeet adds, "It's for the first time that we are dancing together so much. We have cute little fights about the steps and our choreographers Pratik and Rishi play peacemakers, but it's all good fun. We will be shooting for our first act in the next two days, so, we are excited." Gurmeet has previously been the winner of another dance reality show. Ask them if this would be an advantage over other couples and Debina says she isn't too sure: "It could be an advantage but then it also puts pressure on us as the audience has high expectations."

Gurmeet agrees and says, "That show had a different format. I was dancing with my choreographer. Even if I forgot some steps I had a trained dancer with me who could handle the situation.
Here Debina and I aren't experts, but have to be in sync."

Ask this couple what is the best compliment that they've paid each other for their dance performances and Gurmeet fondly narrates an incident. "Much before Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, I had performed a classical act where I danced on a huge tabla. After the performance, I saw her crying backstage.
She then told me that she is proud of me. That according to me has been the best compliment. I, on the other hand, am not too expressive when it comes to appreciation. But Debina knows I love her."

Debina rues that Gurmeet does not give her too many compliments. "He is a tough task master who is never satisfied and feels I can do better. Even if I get compliments from everyone, he won't say anything but I know that he appreciates my performances," says the actress.
