Hey everyone! Hope you all are doing well!
A rather circuitous route across the internet took me to some clips from PV that I hadn't seen in quite a while. I am watching the Dec 6th 2012 Ishq Wala Love sequence and as usual, I can't stop smiling because Yash and Aarti are too, too cute, even if this is Yash's imagination.

- Aarti with the sweater: Yash is so happy, my goodness! The way he's looking down at Aarti while she's holding the sweater up to his chest, oblivious to his adoring gaze - gah, I love the look on his face. And then he sort of quirks his mouth into something like a knowing, amused smirk...and he blinks...If Aarti had glanced up at him then...I'm sure I wouldn't have been able to handle the overload of adorableness. And I am, for the millionth time, extremely glad that I got to know Gurmeet as an actor through this show. He was absolutely perfect as Yash. Aarti's split-second expression of confusion makes me laugh every time I watch this sequence, as does the manner in which Yash literally goes in circles trying to find out where Aarti disappeared off to. When he presumably hears the children in the living room...That shot of Gurmeet is one of my favorites. I always end up thinking, "Ah, I really like this shot! He looks so good."

- Ah, Yash. All he can see is Aarti. Tunnel vision at its finest. No, actually, I think certain other "brooding heroes" would beat Yash easily when it comes to "heroine tunnel vision." But Yash's tunnel vision moments are super sweet because he's generally - inherently - a very nice man, thank god. The cinematography is wonderful during this part, with camera tilts to show us what Yash is focusing on as he looks down at Aarti, sees the smudge of paint on her cheek, and bends over to wipe it off...Love the shots of Kratika here. She has such a sweet expression on her face during this part with the kids - her smile is like sunshine. Even the smallest smile brightens up everything. I suppose that's what Aarti is to Yash by now - she is the sunshine in his life, bringing brightness, color, and warmth with her...

- Seriously, how adorable can these two get?! Perfection personified when they are together onscreen. Yash's "There's no one here. Of course there's no one here. I'm being silly. Silly me!" expressions and incredibly endearing, almost shyly embarrassed smiles. Aarti's silent laughter, knowing smiles, and expressive eyes twinkling with mischief. When Aarti held out her hand and Yash slowly took it into his own...when they began to sway together...As usual, my heart swelled with nostalgic fondness for these two characters and the actors who played them with such finesse. The silent banter between Yash and Aarti, Gurmeet and Kratika, in this part of the song, is the reason why I love this sequence so much. Their eyes speak to each other, in a language that they understand, both in reality and in dreams...There's a sense of playfulness and tension, a push and pull between the two vibes...It's subtle, sweet and seductive at the same time in a way that, for me at least, characterizes Yash-Aarti's relationship.

- We've spoken so many times about how beautifully Gurmeet and Kratika convey emotions with their eyes...and it's those silent Yash-Aarti moments that constantly remind me why I was powerless to resist this particular offscreen/onscreen partnership. I'm constantly drawn to pairings that have a lot of things that are verbally left unsaid but tend to express themselves nonverbally quite a lot, even if they don't consciously realize they're doing so...Yash-Aarti are one of those pairings. Beautifully written and beautifully enacted.

Borna I missed your analytical posts so much 😭
Thank you so much for doing one on AarYa's Ishqwala love. 🤗

OMG, these two are really something. I won't be able to write it down the way you do, but they always left me speechless and craving for more, 👏

And this was all because of Kratika and Gurmeet's amazing acting. It never felt as if they were acting. They always looked so natural and so much at ease ⭐️ ⭐️

Borna can you do it on one more scene? Every time I watch that scene and I think of you. The way you write on their nuances is ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️.
If you've got time, I'll PM you the link of that scene. 😊

Borna 🤗! Long time no see!
I loved the write-up of that scene! It was such a sweet scene and while I have a tendency to call such scenes cheesy (because for the most part, in other shows, they totally are), this one in PV was just so cute and wonderful. Aarti lights up his life like nobody else. And so do the little kiddos, don't want to take credit away from them.

Heya Nikki! 😃
No need to thank me, my friend! I just impulsively felt an urge to jot down a few thoughts and reactions, as I often do while watching scenes I have enjoyed in the past...and it ended up being much longer than I thought it would. Oops! 🤔 😆

I love reading others' thoughts as well! Word about Gurmeet-Kratika's natural, easy-flowing chemistry! Those are the actors and acting partnerships I adore most - the ones who blur the lines between "acting" and "living" when they're in front of the camera. The transformations into different characters are such a joy to watch. As for PV, I wish I could systematically watch the show again, but that's proving to be a bit of a difficult task at the moment, what with real life demands and such. My love for GK, YA, and this show won't ever diminish, though. Of that I am absolutely sure, given the rush of emotions I experience every time I see their scenes or gifs or pictures!

As for your request, that is so sweet, yaar, Nikki! I am wondering which scene that could possibly be! Curiosity is piqued! Feel free to PM me anytime, and I'll do a commentary as soon as I find some time to! There are some shows I always love going back to...Obviously PV-ZMD is one of them! Always will be ❤️

Ninaaa! 🤗
I haven't spoken to you in forever, and I apologize because that is my fault entirely! So sorry about that!

Oh, don't we know about the excess of cheesy, OTT scenes out there? 😳 *cough cough* Somehow, the Mittals' treatment of those conventional scenarios that we find in every soap made them seem much less jarring, less out of place, less melodramatically OTT...At least that is how it seems to me, even now. I think a lot of that effect has to do with the director's ability to envision a scene that could potentially end up being an "😳 " situation for viewers...And of course, the actors have an extremely large role to play as well, since they're the ones who could make or break the scene and its ability to be poignant, even if the scene is written and directed wonderfully.

I totally agree! I love watching Gurmeet, Kratika, Palak, and Divyam in the scene because in spite of the sequence being an imaginary one (which could have easily gone into OTT territory in terms of writing and execution but DIDN'T) there are all these aspects to it that stem from Yash's truest feelings about family and love. Very sweetly shown, too. I always find myself laughing at Aarti's paintbrush antics with the kiddos - Kratika and the children are so precious! And the smiles she gives them! Aww! - and then when I see the camera focus on Gurmeet, who is only focused on Kratika, as Yash apparently is only focused on Aarti and that offending paint on her cheek, I end up laughing even more. Oh, Yash. The children make both him and Aarti happy, and she is such a wonderful mother...and it seems at this point, the roles of the mother and the wife start to merge even more in Yash's mind. They can be a truly happy family now...Because he loves his children so much...and he also loves the mother of his children...his wife.

Abie, I'm glad to have brought back some happy memories! 😃 Yep, adorableness overload, seriously!

Ah! Shout out to MJ! Thank you so much, dear, for the birthday wishes! 🤗

no words for the beauty of the literary description !

EDIT: exactly why i can't find myself to steadily watch another hindi show, because of GK's not only beautiful pairing but the outstanding portrayal of a husband and wife who went on and became lovers before our very eyes!
