Aarthi is the only one in that house (aside from Radha I guess) who has lost her real child and knows how painful it is. When she saw Pari, she knew how she must be feeling inside to have lost a child and not be able to have her own (obviously she could still adopt another one). It made sense for her to give Aayu to her in that situation. It would have been better if they had showed Aarthi and Yash discussing it before she decided it on her own though. It seemed to hasty. They should have shown Pari feeling remorseful of how she kept Aarthi from playing with "her" child earlier.
