You have described it so beautifully how Arati don't know what is that she feels for Yash. She wants Yash and Payal to be happy but can't see them happy with someone else. Somewhere she wants to a part in that incomplete family and make it complete but couldn't think of it as she considers herself as a curse. Also she is still not aware that what she feel for Yahs is love and that was why she felt hurt when Yash told that he has some one in his heart.
Arati accepted so fast that Naina could be that girl in Yash's life and the reason could be some where she wants to run away from those emotions and feelings Yash evoke in her just by one look. But I am really glad that unknowingly even Naina became the reason for the burning of the drawing book which gave not only Arati a chance to let out her pain but will make her understand slowly that none other than her could be the mother of Payal and if she wants to see Yash and Payal happy, she will have to let go of her insecurities and pain and embrace the life for all 3 of them.
