Anu, yeah, they probably didn't realize they would be wrapping up so soon. I don't know how SBB/SBS segments are going to be accomplished. Honestly, I think they'll all put on brave faces. They've developed such close relationships over this past year. Argh! Just when I think I'm good with this, these tweets are killing me. I love this cast so much.

I wish the PH and channel had waited for the TRPs, I just wish they had.

So am I. I'm really, really thinking that ZeeTV must have put the Mittals in some kind of a bind that they felt they couldn't get out of without completely scarring the original premise and characterization, that's why Sumeet said more than once that they didn't want to spoil the story. If they had just waited a couple of weeks to see if this new story path was working, maybe that would have made some difference. But, now, we'll never know.

The irony of destiny. Our TRPs improved, albeit by 0.1 and we are tied at the second position with BALH. Veera's TRPs fell by a huge margin to 2.4 (from 2.9 last week). If only the makers had waited ...

If Gurmeet tweets something about this, I'm first going to favorite it, like I've been doing with Kratika's and Dishank's messages about this...And then I'm going to write him something before running away to do assignments. Hopefully I won't cry in the midst of all that. I doubt I would. But it definitely is making the void in my heart grow by just thinking about it.

I'm sure the respect and friendliness between Gurmeet-Kratika as well as between the "3 Scindia brothers" and "Aarti and her 2 brothers-in-law" off-screen will remain strong, even if they don't get chances to meet up. Some relationships are like that...Even more beautiful, I would say.

Edit: Saw your post about the TRPs. Let's just wait this out and see what happens. We've got time...But I'm thinking that if the channel was so hell-bent on seeing drastic improvements quickly, there probably was a middle ground that was reached in the end.

I really hope so Borna. I have always treasured Gurmeet and Kratika's friendship/relationship. It's so unique, one-of-a-kind type. I doubt they would get to meet up, especially since Gurmeet is married and stuff but I hope they do keep in touch with each other. The bromance and bhabhi-devar bonds would stay, I am certain about that. As always, I would just say, may god bless them all and may GK's friendship remain strong with each passing day. <3

I don't know whether Gurmeet is intentionally not updating his Twitter page or he is too numbed as well. He was so happy when he spoke to TB, when the Mittals had confirmed that the show is not going off-air ...

Jac, the channel and PH probably did have some binding/bond? I agree with Sumeet sir that it is wiser to wrap up the show then to spoil it by those cheap gimmicks. My only grouse, GK would not be together and they would be missed. If someone casts them together in some show, I think I would say that whatever happened, happened for the best. =)

EDIT -

I think it would be stupid, if the channel expected a huge rise in the ratings, in a week! But then again, it's the channel's decision at the end of the day. I do wonder how the new PV would fare though. People like us won't be watching it, I wonder how many similar viewers there are out there ...

Anu and Jac: I think you two may be right. I guess the actors got the final decision yesterday but they might've gotten hints of it before then. Hence the mirrored "Samajhdaaro ke liye ishaara kaafi hai" message from both, within 2 minutes of each other. Damn it, this is SAD!

I just tweeted to both of them...Prateek's darling Gundi Bhabhi...Everyone really is a family. I loved seeing that over the past year. I don't think those bonds will break.

Borna, I think you've helped me decipher what that tweet meant. It really does seem as if they had gotten hints before and knew something was up, but yesterday was full confirmation.

Like you and Anu are saying, I too would like to think that these friendships -- the well-wishing and respect they've developed -- will continue off-screen for years to come, even if they don't meet as often. Those TRPs! Anu, that kind of hurts right there. It's not a huge bump, but it is still a nudge upward. All they had to do now was get out of the Ishita obsession and get back to Yash-Aarti-kids. They shouldn't have made this decision during IPL season when things are uneven for all shows. Now, it seems there will be no recourse because they're on the path to closure. I'm really feeling now that ZeeTV put them in a tight spot.

IA, I think they would have had some kind of agreement. Yeah, I think we all understand Sumeet's rationale on ending it. But what you said in bold: Gurmeet and Kratika's acting partnership not being part of PV and being missed seems to be the prevailing cause of sadness. Word on that last sentence. You know I'm with you on that.

Maybe the channel had been observing PV closely ever since the February rebound was lost...they just didn't make any sort of hullabaloo about it to the public, maybe?

Anyway, such is life. Full of irony. You know, I want to say that whatever has happened so far has happened for the best...But I'm going to wait to see how the Mittals wrap up this story before I do so. Do we really have until the end of May, or do we have a little bit more time in June? Because as of now, what are they going to do about the delusional one?

One good thing about all this: I will have time to revisit my old posts and actually do a thorough retrospective review along the way! Memories are flooding back at the oddest times now!

I sent them different messages, personalized ones, but I did include "Gundi Bhabhi" in Dishank's tweet (in which I also referenced Kratika so it got sent to her also, haha). Amen to your last few sentences, darling! 🤗

I was waiting so eagerly for them to get out of the Ishita-Rut! 🥱 I was waiting so eagerly...and then we're hit with this tsunami of an ultimate decision. I'm in emotional limbo about this now. Of course I will put more emphasis on treasuring what we have gotten...But I wonder what would happen after this week's episodes, since we've had quite a few pleasant surprises and for once, Wednesday's episode had a mostly happy precap! 😲 😆

I think that's possible, Borna. The ratings fell again at the end of February into March when they began Akash-Ishita's hate relationship in earnest. I do recall viewers on the board here begging for more Yash-Aarti scenes, but the writers were wading through the fallout from the baby swap story and I'm not sure they heard our pleas.

It's a bitter pill to swallow, especially when I know ZeeTV has these kinds of management habits and I was still hoping things would be a little different for PV with them, but, as far as they're concerned this is business. This is all hindsight now, but maybe ZeeTV and the Mittals could have some kind of focus group/feedback thing on FB and Twitter in February/March to directly gauge fan reaction and implement some of the ideas instead of ZeeTV dictating ideas that very likely wouldn't have flown well with the Mittals or us as PV fans. Ah well, it is what it is. Yet, I still wish ZeeTV had waited a bit or went about finding ideas for recovery differently.

In terms of time, I don't know how long we do have. In the interview, Sumeet didn't seem to have a time pinned down. I think I remember him saying something like "whenever, a month, three weeks." So I'm guessing the end of May into June. That means they will have to wrap up the obsession arc quickly enough.

True story on the retrospective. I'm been doing mini-ones since I heard the news. 😆 So many things are reminding me of past scenes.

OK, I must, must rush off to bed. I have to be up in 4 and a half hours. Talk to you girls later.
