This sounds so interesting. Its a shame I don't understand Kannada. Do they have subtitles? I hope they do a remake in Malayalam too although I don't think Kerala has rules like Karnataka do about remakes.

I have watched few episodes of the Tamil version with my MIL but it is dubbed and it kind of felt weird to see Kratika and Gurmeet speaking in Tamil. 😆 But I would love love to see the Kannada one if they have the subtitles. I am so curious to see how they would adapt it culturally. I saw the promos and even in that I could see the difference. The kids did not look as antagonistic to each other as Ansh and Palak and Payal did in the Hindi promos. Also, in the promos the kannada version of Aarti looked a lot more happier than the hindi Aarti. That is when it hits you how much the actors themselves bring to these characters. It is not just about the script, the dialogues and the director but the actors are who breathes life into these characters who were conceived in the minds of the writers and jotted down on sheets of papers. The nuances, the subtleties they bring in their expressions play such a HUGE role in conveying their emotions to us.

So super happy that this show is being remade into so many languages. I know it is a huge hit in Tamil. Hopefully in Kannada too. And will wait eagerly for it show up in Malayalam. 😔

@Kirthi: You are from Kerala?? 😲 OMG...it is indeed a small world.

I would love to see it in Malayalam too...I know that better than I know Kannada! But there is no Zee Malayalam, so some other channel has to do it in colloboration!

PS: I don't know about subtitled epis...the Zee Kannada YT does not have subtitles I think!

Wow! i'm so happy to see this post. In Forum!!

I just saw huge posters in News paper prior to the launch. Since it is being directed by Shruthi Naidu i' expecting a Good product.
She is indeed a good director.

I'm yet to catch the show but i'm curious to see the characters which breathed my life fr a year in my own Mother tongue!

I think i'm not against to the anti-dub policy of Karnataka Govt. I see a strong point in it.
Being a viewer of regional serials i have seen how Telugu Serial culture has almost vanished from scene with Dubbed serials taking Telugu Television by storm. I see no prominent Actor existing tody whom we idolized from childhood. Thumbs up to karnataka Govt. Fr this policy because of it a small community of Television actors and technicians are having two time meals.

Yesterday I jys happen to view it for a moment the discussion between Surya & parimala, but the actor (had not seenhim earlier) looked too dull with a long stubble. Looked too young to play Surya but have not watched it in full. Will try to watch atleast one full episode to analyse and will comment. If Shruti is acting as Arti, then the hero is far too young but will watch it today & tomorrow to see. Also need to see who is acting as the father there

yeah kannada version of Diya aur bathi and SNS are equally good in kannada...
Yes evn i couldn't connect much with surya n aarthi in kannada may be cos GC AND ks etched the characters so deeply it becomes diff fr loyal PV viewers to adjust to the new faces.
