Thank you! At times, it isn't the ones we love who create our misery, but rather our own insufficiency and helplessness.

Well written and very intriguing. There's a Raymond Chandler, "Film Noir" quality to the writing that makes me think Maltese Falcon and I LIKE it. Looking forward to reading more.

Kadeen...This is brilliant writing. The intrigue factor is just right. One is looking forward to knowing more about how Yash messed up...He did, didn't he?

All the best lil one! May not be able to reply to all updates...but I am going to be right there joining the queue for them.

Now I am going to have to Google Raymond Chandler. Knowledge is key after all.😆 Thank you for being pulled into the story and enjoying it. For now, I like it too. Knowing me though, a year from now, I'll look at it and begin a major re-write🤔

Thank you, Didi. Thank you so much😳

Lol! Fishing there, are we? Perhaps he did. When I first had this idea, it wasn't necessarily him. It was the circumstances and the positioning. The novel I'm currently reading ("The Jungle" by Upton Sinclair), has unconsciously cemented that concept for me today, and then again in Psychology class. The circumstances and a man's response to it decide his life, but sometimes even with his best efforts...life simply does him in. Some fight against it, and others give up when it becomes too much to bear.

I'm grateful for the good wishes, and I do hope I live up to all the expectations that everyone seems to be having. As for the updates, well, another one should be up in another few minutes or so.😆 The rest however, will most definitely be at my usual (almost non-existent) pace.

Removed.

Author's Note: Yes, another short chapter. I really had not expected to write more for the night, but I couldn't help myself. This story has been on hold in my head for at least a month or so now, and while the premise is there, it is being born before my eyes. Sometimes you cannot delay labour, you must endure it and hope for the best. Hopefully, this is my last baby for the night until I can think on it more and gather my research.

Please note that I am not against the police force or other members of authority or the political front. I'm simply writing the little things I've only seen and heard a little of, and furnishing it with my own cognition, reasoning and perspective. I hope I do not offend anyone out there as I go further along.
