I think that the mechanic did not do a good job with the car - and that is why it failed again the next day. And did you not see Yash paid the mechanic again! The mechanic got paid to do the same job twice!
Now it may be the mechanic is also employed by that detective. Perhaps he keeps tabs on people the detective is investigating and drops in hints to the detective's clients. Smart guy makes a lot of money!! Absolutely the right guy for BUA DEAR!
Oh and the actor who played the mechanic was too good!! He played his part to the 'T'. The demeanor, the speech delivery, and the peep into Yash's phone - great job!!!
