excellent post!
The worst lies are the lies we tell ourselves..we live in denial of what we do, even what we think..we do this because we're afraid..we fear we will not find love..& when we find it we fear we'll lose it...we fear that if we do not have love we will be unhappy..may be aarti's prov in PV..😕
the most common lie is that which one lies to himself, trying to others is relatively an exception..
there is no lie that a man will not believe..& there is no man who does not believe many lies..& there is no man who believes only lies..& sometimes lies may be benefited like we can't tell a person directly about his uglyness we have to lie as good looking..😕

I am personally of the opinion that its alright to lie if it isn't too huge to break the other person's trust or to hamper with the peace in your life...

Lie as big as the lie revolving around Aarti's life which sure is gonna bring a storm in her life isn't acceptable in my eyes...
One gets enough time to analyze the person in front of you and know if you can trust him/her and let your secret out thus, not loosing the trust... and that I feel is a victory...

confessing the lie you spoke and moving out of that guilt of deceiving some one i feel comes in one of the biggest victories in this world...

A very beautiful discussion topic -

How far is it fair to lie?

This varies from person to person and situation to situation...
However when it comes to this serial - it started off as a fair lie as Yash's folks were not for a divorcee as their new daughter-in-law for Yash. They wanted only a widow for reasons I could not fathom! But since Aarti was perfect in all other aspects, it was alright to keep this under wraps to go on with the wedding.
But under the current scenario, it is not fair to Yash as this relationship has already reached a level of comfort, maturity and understanding and to continue to keep quiet for any longer about the truth of Prashant would only mean a breach of trust. Yash should have been told about it as soon as Aarti knew about their being friends.

Does a lie have a dimension?

Yes - it has to be within a limit or else can mar any relationship!

Is a lie in every sense an iniquity?

It is unfair when the other trusts you completely and is taken by surprise especially in major aspects of life...marriage for instance!

Can a lie really embellish somebody's life?

No - for when revealed it takes away with it whatever beauty was enjoyed in the past...

All my answers are with respect to the serial - and where the story stands now...

A lie is a lie no matter what.

But then, I won't lie when I will say that I myself have recourse to White lies some times, like you said, sweet lies, to keep one's heart or more to escape from Mom's scoldings *Yea Mom, I did sleep early or of course I have been revising only and did not touch my mac at all*😆

But here, what Aarti is doing is a completely different thing.
She is hiding things concerning HIS child to Yash and the whole family.
The lie about her wedding was something she herself didn't want and wanted to tell it all to Yash. But here, she is giving in to the demands of the Dubeys as if the lies won't ever come out.

I truly am of view that Yash SHOULD have been made aware of all. I don;t believe that Yash is someone who would have preferred letting Prashanth die rather than given his consent for the BMT.

She is getting herself entangled into a vicious circle of lies day by day. Earlier I had hope that Yash would have forgiven her. But now it's getting worst. Like they say, Jhoot pe jhoot, till when will this go on. Does she not trust Yash enough to share her problems and dilemma.

Yash gonna be hurt big time on knowing it all, especially if he will know it from a third party and this time am not gonna blame him if he turns into HULK once again 😆

I'm not in favor of lying, but in Aarti's case it's not like she lies with intention of hurting anyone, its more because of circumstances, but she really shouldn't keep building on the lies she had already told, cos she's the one whose going to get hurt the worst when all of it comes out, she must just sit her hubby down and tell him everything, from the fact that she's a divorcee, not a window to the whole donor situation now.

Nice topic Shubhi, lie is integral part of not just PV but out life, all of us..
We all lie, sometimes just to make other happy. Lie is a lie eventually, its consequences is what determines whether its big or small. And when we are lying, we do understand THE effect..
In PV, Dubeys very well knew the effect of it but relied of God's blessing to justify it. Aarti went along with their lie because she was in their debt but she knew consequences but was left with no choice I feel, also she didn;t care if marriage fail or succeed so didn;t care about them...
Now after making places in their heart, and still lying is not right.
She is gonna hurt Yash and kids the most. She says loves him with her life, but does not trust him enough to support in her cause of not letting Prashant die, now that is where story telling falters, as she keep saying how much she trust him and know him, but does she really😕..
As for me the lie is stretched way too far to make sense of any reason...
