Color Symbolism in Today's Episode

The primary colors that stood out in today's episode are red, black, and white. The red balloons in the shape of hearts paving the floor of the dinner scene symbolize the foundation of love between Arati and Yash. The balloons flew out at Arati as she moved, but not at Yash, indicating that Arati has already declared her love, but for Yash, it is still latent and awaiting expression. The black and white outfits of Arati and Yash is a perfect irony of the current situation --that things are never as ideal or as black and white as they appear. In different ways, both Yash and Arati are "black and white" type of characters. We see this clearly in Yash's hatred of lies, and in his "all or nothing" attitude where issues of trust are concerned. In Arati, we see this in her negation her past, and her refusal to see its influence on her present.
In Arati and Yash's relationship, there are many shades of grey in between the two contrasts that need to be reckoned, embraced, processed, and integrated, for them to grow individually, and also as a couple. Yash is wearing white, which indicates that he has emerged from the shadows of his past, while Arati draped in black suggests the mystery, concealment, and possibly, the lurking shadows of bereavement that might need to be faced. The heavy metallic border on Aarati's stark black saree is the silver lining that suggests that all will go well in the end, after facing the challenges of the past.
