@ Bold: Jyoti I am muslim and have never heard of the name changing rewaz in fact I have never seen it done. I have seen the rewaz of a husband's brother marrying his sister in law and such but not this. Could it be that it has more to do with regional customs and traditions and not religion?

And by that I mean that only GC can appear resplendently almost-naked before my eyes for a fourth of the episode and imperceptibly make me focus more on his his eyes and his expressions instead of his poke-worthy abs.

Extremely interesting discussion - i've been riveted for the past half an hour, catching up with the different POV's. I'm going ahead and jumping right in the middle of things!

Over the past few episodes and now especially after today, I have been asking myself just one question - What is wrong with the Dubey's? I understand that the want to see Aarti settled and all and that Yash is a great guy - but haven't they seen how the rest of the Scindia's more importantly - how unforgivably nasty Gayatri is? Why are they so hell bent on getting their daughter married into the family ? To an extent that they even lied for it.. Maybe I'm beating a dead horse, but this I feel is the root cause of all the problems, misunderstanding. They are so desperate to get this done with that they have made themselves so very gullible and susceptible that now, they themselves have been delegated to the sidelines. Had they been a little more firm in their stance/stand, they could have voiced an objection to the 'Aarti is Arpitha resurrected' ideology.. I find it very difficult to accept submissiveness to this extent on their part.

Arpita's parents could have taken a step back themselves and instead of claiming Aarti as Arpita, could have told something more palpable like Aarti is like their daughter from now on.. But changing her name - yikes!!

I read a comparison about this to Rebecca, and I must say - it will be a super interesting twist if it does turn out like Rebecca - with the way Arpita died I mean.. which could explain the Scindia's over the top worshiping of Arpita's parents. Their guilt over her death can make them act like this. But it more likely than not is a case of them trying to fit Aarti into the wrapper called Arpita - to show Aarti the image which they think she can never live upto.. Maybe in their own twisted way, to make it easier for Arpita's children to accept Aarti as their mother, or to an extent, even for Yash..
