I don't think her name is going to be changed, that would be really weird, but I am curious to know what he meant by that. Is it for a special ritual or something? Because the segments showed Arpita's mom giving Aarti kangans as shagun and she had a surprised look on her face...😕

Yes its a ritual...that is what Gc said...
in that kangan scene... may be she would have been surprised because of the sweet heart of Arpita's mom...

She should not, for a girl to live under someone elses shadow isn't more than enough that she has to live with that name too...
Even if it has to, it shouldn't be Arpita...
I thought the hoarding was in process, and also cards have their name so hoarding has to be same. Some families change the girl's name after some rasm..

These interviews aren't that great in terms of editing...The best thing to do is wait and watch and be as excited as Gurmeet and Dishank, LOL! 😆 Gurmeet was being so funny offscreen - saying that "Yash" is so excited about getting married to Aarti that he hadn't slept all night thinking about all the rituals and events 😆 (And here we're all like..."Yeah, we know how excited you are, Yash...All stoic and worried about Aarti's impression of you. That must have caused a sleepless night, if nothing else. How sweet!")

Seriously, these segments are really butchered because of the editing, so I really hope it's just some sort of misconception on our part. But not to rain on my own parade, I just realized that in that Tellychakkar article that broke the news about the entrance of Arpita's mom, it said that there will be some major kanyadaan drama. Before this we were all wondering what kind of drama a kanyadaan can bring, because Shobha and Mr. Dubey are the only ones who should be doing it, but what if, and I really hope I am wrong here, but what if Gayatri comes up with some ritual that says that Arpita's parents will have to do Aarti's kanyadaan. I am sure no matter how nice the parents are, I don't think Aarti will agree to this at all, and neither do I think will Yash, so this might cause some friction between the two families. But my question is, is there really such importance giving to the widower's dead wife's parents in the Hindu culture in the even of his second marriage? Because rationally, this makes absolutely no sense. Yes, their daughter passed away but that doesn't mean that they have the right to claim the other girl entering in Yash's life as their own, I have never heard of anything like that!

On a lighter note, I totally agree about Gurmeet's masti in the off screen interviews! Seriously he seemed to be having the best time messing around, and going completely bipolar with his character! I kinda wish him and Kratika were giving the interview together, her expressions would be worth watching as Yash goes on and on about how excited and lucky he is that eik hi janam mein do do shaadiyan 🤣 And I just saw the IF video on the haldi and he is totally trolling all these segments, first messing up Aarti and Arpita's names and then going on about how he doesn't want Aarti to be far away from him and all that, Gurmeet has really become comfortable in giving interviews and not just that but actually being funny in them, he kept cracking up every 2 seconds on his comments! Man it was fun watching them, and I really, really hope that at a certain point we get to see this side of him on screen, maybe next holi under the effect of bhaang 😆

What? What kind of a ritual is that? This is the first time I'm hearing of something like this...Interesting. But Aarti is such a pretty name!
First from Smriti to Aarti and Siddharth to Yash...imagine if they did change Aarti to Arpita - then Gurmeet and Kratika would be in an even bigger identity crisis, LMAO! (Best offscreen moment ever!)

Geez i hope not...that's just plain out of control...i get the whole 2nd marriage thing...but seriously she has the take the name of a dead woman?? that's just unnecessary...

as others have pointed out...its already hard enuf that she has to live in the shadow of another woman not only with her husband and the kids, but with the rest of his family...plus since shes the girl she has to leave all her familiar environment and ppl and live with complete strangers...and then to have a dead woman's name??? thats just too over the top...thats begging to be tackless...

and if for whatever reason this is even attempted (no clue why, since this is the year 2012) then yash DEF needs to say SOMETHIGN (ps i'm getting really tired of him sitting around when the kids are fighting over him...all they need is reassurance FROM HIM and they will chill but that's for another time)...

ps still think its weird that the dead girls mom gets to do the haldi first (who is she?? i get if she represents yash...but aarti?? weird...)

anyways i guess we'll jsut have to wait and watch...but i hope the creatives seriously rethink this whole name change thing...if they had it planned in the first place...

Ok, I am 100% sure that they won't be permanently changing Aarti's name to Arpita! That would be the most ridiculous and illogical thing ever. I mean one, you can't expect someone whose name has been their identity for their whole life to just change it out of the blue and be okay about that. And two, Yash is supposed to move on from his old relationship with Arpita to Aarti, how is it going to help him if his new wife takes over his old wife's name? He would never be able to move on in this case, and neither will the family be able to accept Aarti for who she is! I am sure we're taking a completely different meaning of GC's words in the interview, and it's probably something that's going to be done for a certain ritual or rasm which in a sense will be moving Yash's life from Arpita to Aarti.

Also, in KSBKBT when Gautam, a widower, got married to Damini, she didn't have to change her name or anything, so I am just hoping that this is some weird misunderstanding on our part because of the way the segments are edited and what not!
