Sam, I am sorry but I did not see Maansi as trying to normalise the situation for Aarti but only making it worse. If she really was her friend she would have seen how uncomfortable Aarti is when she highlights the physical aspect of this marriage. She already knows that Aarti has agreed for this re-marriage only for her son. It is ok for her to tell her to also be prepared to be more than a mother to Yash's children for men in general expect more from a marriage than that. Having said that she should have backed off but making crass comments about the man whom her friend ( a mature woman at that) was going to marry somehow did not sit well with me. I did not warm up to her character and as you pointed out, the pace of the episode only made it worse. I really hope she leaves soon and we do not have to endure her presence after the marriage is done. I would rather see the children indirectly play cupid to their parents without realising so.
You know I have thought up this scene for their SR which I am sure is not going to play out (going by the promos) but I couldn't dislodge it from my mind.
Yash's daughters are told to sleep with their grandparents and after a little fuss about wanting to sleep with their papa, they finally give in and reluctantly go with their grand parents. Ansh who is exhausted by the whole wedding, falls asleep in his grandmother's arms who takes him with her to their room (Aarti's new in-laws would have suggested that Ansh's grandparents stay behind for a few days till the boy gets used to the new surroundings).
Aarti awaits Yash apprehensively in their bedroom, petrified about being pounced upon by her hubby. Yash walks in wondering how he is going to tell her that he is not interested to have a physical relationship with her. After some awkward moments on sitting together on the bed, Yash finally works up the courage to say something but just then they hear the door being banged upon and Ansh bawling loudly that he will sleep with his mommy and no one else. They look startled and Aarti rushes to the door to find his grandmom trying to pacify the boy and begging him to come sleep with her. She looks at Yash in embarrassment and tries to carry away Ansh, who is kicking and screaming by now. Aarti looks up at Yash in confusion. Yash tells Shobha that it is OK for Ansh to sleep with them and despite her protests, he reassures that everything will be alright. Aarti is amazed at Yash's attitude towards her son. She makes Ansh lie in one corner of the bed and lies next to him, pushing both of them as far from Yash as possible. Seeing her discomfort, Yash asks her to put Ansh between them and make herself comfortable for the bed is large enough for the three of them. Reluctantly she does so and Ansh hugs her tightly and begs her to tell him a story. She narrates a fairytale and Ansh goes off to sleep in the middle of it. Yash silently observes the mother and son. Seeing that Aarti is uncomfortable under his gaze, he turns over and tries to go to sleep. Soon all three of them are fast asleep. Ansh rolls in his sleep and lands a plump leg on Yash's hip, which wakes Yash up but he doesn't move his step son's leg away. Soon he feels something hot on his back and realises that Ansh has wet him. He gets up and taking a fresh bedsheet, he rolls up the wet side and spreads the bedsheet under the boy. He also removes Ansh's wet pyjamas and looking around his wardrobe, gets hold of one of the girls' pyjamas and pulls it over Ansh's legs, making sure he does not wake up the sleeping boy. Changing his own clothes, he goes back to sleep.
In the morning Aarti wakes up to see Ansh in a flowery pyjama and wonders about it. Looking around the bed she realises what had happened the night before. Just then Yash wakes up and Aarti hurriedly tries to apologise to him saying that Ansh normally does not wet the bed and only does so when he is over excited or tensed. Yash shushs her and says that he understands for he is a father too. He reassures her that she needn't feel bad about the bed wetting. He tells her that it is only natural for the little boy to be worked up about the wedding. He then gets up to go to the bathroom leaving Aarti really touched by Yash's tolerance and sensitivity.
