ahh, i know mosques and masjids as well as dargah, but i never heard of mazar.. so thats more of a sufi tradition... traditionally sikhs go there? i know everyone goes everywhere now adays but wasn't sure of what it is traditionally

thanks for answering!

anytime 😊 & yep traditionally its a place for sufis. mazar might be an urdu term, and dargah a hindi, but not sure abt this one. i know in urdu mazar is the more commonly used term.

Hey dear, they mentioned it, 'peer baba ki mazaar'. I just want to tel u that religiously it is a hindus religious place nt an islamic. Islamic refer to masjids. This is just an answer to ur question. Bt i believe, today there is no diference btwen religions. Evry person visit for faith. It doesnt matter. Faith is biggest thing.

Hindus can go to dargah...I know many people who are Hindus still twice a year they do visit dargah. After all God is One...man has made religions and call that almighty by different names.

stupid question but whats a mazar? is that just another name for mosque?

literally meaning of mazaar is "a place to visit" and it usually refers to tombs of islamic saints/sufis or famous people

so mazar means tomb
mosque/masjid is the place of prayer/worship

i do not visit mazaars because visiting mazars and mannat etc is not allowed for Muslims...espcially for women visiting graveyards is not allowed..

wow thank you so so so much everyone! It feels so good to see this Unity in India. That is why I am so PROUD TO BE INDIAN! SO PROUD. I love this unity. This is how we ALL SHOULD BE EVERYWHERE. If only foreigners could see how beautiful India is inthe way everyone loves each other. There are differences, yes, but for the most part, (if it wasnt for other random people creating problems) whether you are a hindu muslim sikh christian we are all together!
