Ok, here's another episode that I should have been disappointed by, but wasn't because I did expect them to rush it in order to move onto the next track. Not just rush, but muddle things up even further. The problem with our CVs is they start off new interesting tracks, but never give them a proper conclusion before moving on to the next one. They tend to use silly and contrived ways to tie things up that just leave us frustrated.
For example:
- Vikrant being questioned at a checkpoint was to delay his arrival at the meeting place, but was there really any need to have the policeman say "is your wife about to run away"? As far as I know, cops would never say that, no matter how annoying. He could have just said something like "where's the fire?"
- I know that Raj's enlightment was supposed to be sprung upon us, but they could have shown a few flashbacks or self-thoughts of his. I know we're meant to believe he had an epiphany while he was driving, but this little point would have made it so much easier to digest
Raj and Sarita's confrontation was expected, but I think the CVs were answering a lot of questions and dropping new hints for us through this scene.
- Sarita justifying her stance was well done, and I think it made sense that she mentioned her responsibilities but not feelings. It's too early for her to talk about love because she doesn't feel that herself. I'm glad she pointed out her loyalty to Abhi and how a mother could never betray her child, because chemistry or no chemistry, Vikrant and Sarita came together because of their son. (Reminds me of something similar in the last season.)
- We were wondering how Sarita could get over Raj and be attracted to Vikrant in such a short time. Well, she answered those questions too. Yes, she had been pining for Raj's love for 10 years, but after a while she also noticed that perhaps he wasn't deserving of the pedestal she had placed him on. She loved him with her mind, because subconsciously she felt she duty-bound/conditioned to. When she started to stand up for herself, and appreciate her own worth, she realized that it was not enough to love your spouse. Respect and understanding are just as important, if not more. Slowly, her worship or Raj diminished, while she was unaware, because her mind had become conditioned to loving him and suffering in silence where he was concerned.
I was glad to see her spell out how and why she'd lost respect for Raj and why she could never really trust him to be her HUSBAND, even if Abhi weren't in the picture. All of his cheap behavior made her wonder that if he could treat his blood relations this way, then how could she trust him to be good to her? I know she said they could still be friends, but I think she just feels sorry for him. If he really wants to be a deserving friend then he has a lot to make up for.
- Raj finally tells us what's been going on in his mind over the last few years. He didn't need to tell Sarita to 'shut up' as though she were a petulant child, but his urgency made me forgive that. I think he finally realized his mistakes because it took him all this time to figure out what was wrong with HIM, not the world. Talking about his career, his frustration, his lack of conviction, his indecisiveness, and his misconception that he had to find happiness in what couldn't be his - master stroke. He realized that his love for Sarita, true as it may be, would just remain in his heart because he and Sarita have no manzil together. All ways lead back to Divya. The CVs managed to make Raj pretty much gain back all the sympathy he'd lost over the past few weeks. Many of us are going to be rooting for him and cheering him on for this new phase of his life.
- Vikrant wanted to shoot her, but why? It still seems out of character. Yes, he was angry with her because he thought she was runnning away, but now that she isn't what's the point of shooting her? I don't think he will ever plan to kill her, he doesn't seem murderer type. Besides he loves her and Abhi too much, individually and together. As he pointed the gun at Sarita's retreating back, several flashbacks were shown. I love how it mirrored what Sarita was saying about Abhi being the binding factor; both parents think about Abhi first before their own selfish wants. Then Vikrant's heart reminds him that it no longer belongs to him because Sarita's essence is completely immersed in his soul. When Vikrant puts the gun down, he realizes what he was about to do in his angry haze. It is this, more than her betrayal that is hurting him, the fact that he could go to this level for this woman. How much power must she have over him to drive him to the point of insanity and also stop him from tipping over! He loves her but hates her for being so out of control where she's concerned. Besides, I don't think he wants to become a widower again; been there, done that! (Conspiracy theorists might begin to wonder if he had something to do with Jahnvi's death - is that what the matchmaker warned us about? đ)
I remember Raj warning Vikrant before their PV that he'd better take good care of Sarita. I fully expect him to step in and help Sarita out if Vikrant is going to be mean to her now. Would this make Divya insecure again?
I know many people have talked about bloopers, but here are a few of my own:
- Vikrant grabbed the Barbed wire?! No bleeding? That was just unnecessary. I hope he gets a tetanus shot at least!
- Since when does Emirates fly out of Bhopal? Does Bhopal even have an International Airport?! Or was PV advertising tourism in Dubai from embassy to boarding passes?
- Raj's car changed from black to white during the drive; lousy paint job
- why would Sarita want to figure out where the phone's ringing? Urghh..
