Sarita, Divya & Raj

Let me be upfront and state, I am not a fan of any actor and neither I am supporting any character.
I am watching a show and trying to see the characters from all angels as a nuetral viewer.

Its been 2 weeks into the show and this is what we know -
Sarita stuck in a loveless marriage for 10 years. While they haven't revealed the complete details, I think it is mainly because she loves Raj? People say love provides great strength. Is this what let her continue in a loveless marriage for 10 long year and with no hope for the next 10 or more years?
If Divya had not come back, would she have stayed in that loveless marriage forever?

Divya had to pratically hide from her lover before she went away to fulfill her dreams, which mainly was to fulfill the responsibilities of her family.
Would things have been different if she didn't really had to go to Mumbai the way she did - hiding from her lover? Instead if she explained to him how important it is for her to take care of her family by her own and made a pact that they both would wait for 10 years?

Raj was left devasted when Divya went away to Mumbai without seeing him. Raj marrying a girl, even out of compulsion, but not giving her wife's status is wrong.
Raj thinks he was wronged by Divya, but he still thinks he is right by being loyal to his lover eventhough he married someone else.

Sarita is shown to be the victim till now. While loving her husband is not a crime, being in a loveless marriage isn't sensible either.
Sarita hasn't done anything that can be categorized as 'good' and neither there is anything that can be categorized as 'bad'. Yes she did go and rant her personal issues to the very girl who she thinks is the cause for all her issues! And she would not take anything thrown at her by her husband's family.

We have seen Divya as a good person who stands by her words of promise and will fore-go her happiness for other's sake.

Would Sarita have done the same Divya is doing, if she was in Divya's place? Would Sarita have sacrificed her marriage and had gone to fix her once-upon-a-lover's wife's marriage?

What are your thoughts and Whose character appeases you more?

For someone to do what Divya is doing one needs to have empathy.

Though Sarita is shown to be the victim and may even get viewer's sympathy, what needs to be understood is that - If Sarita had that quality, she might have tried to work on her marriage differently from how she has been doing till now? Instead of expecting Raj to love her back maybe she would have befriended him and helped him with his career (that he had left after Divya left him)?

wld sarita do same if in divya's place, absolutely NOT! infact raj wldnt either! rem raj scene at divyas marriage venue, he feels betrayed by divya n that she choose to marry instead of returning to him, seems he conveniently forgot he is married, compulsion or not he is still married!

sarita has her flaws, but in life one cant go arnd blaming others for their problems.. her problem is raj, why has she never tried to get any answers directly from him? conversation can solve alot u know!

Yes, Raj feels he was betrayed not once but twice by Divya, once 10 yrs back and next when she chooses to go ahead with her marriage.

Divya was a big TV star and if Raj wanted he could have reached out to her by going to Mumbai.

Sarita did learn to give back to her in-laws when they crossed their limits, but when it came to Raj, she never tried to take the matter to her own hand and tried to rectify the situation. If not wife-and-husband, she did not even try and make friendship in the last 10 yrs!

Both Raj and Sarita did nothing in 10 yrs and kept their life at a stand still!

more then betrayal n all, i feel raj n sarita seem more pissed at divya coz she "choose" to move on, n theyr stil stagnant for 10yrs!

well reality check time, raj- u went back n got married when divya left, compulsion makes no difference, so why feel so hurt divya returns n choses to move on! yes she was a big star, had raj wanted so badly he cldve contacted her!

sarita- u hate divya coz she is who raj cant forget so rather then take responsibility for ur marriage u play blame game!

For me all the characters are greyed. Like all humans, they are flawed and not perfect...its good that they are not perfect! They took some choices in their life, may be due to whatever reasons, and are in this point because of those choices. So for now, no one appeases to me very much but may be later on when the characters are established properly.

All the three characters have struggled so far (not gaurav yet) in their own ways. However, Sarita's pains have been shown out and she has basked in sympathies. I do not disagree with that because whatever she has gone thru in life is worse than hell.

However, Divya too had her shares of struggles which were never shown properly. It wouldn't have been easy for her to leave her love for her family. But since she had no option she had to do it. But why didn't she discuss this with Raj...and if she did, why didn't Raj understand her? Was it so difficult for Raj to understand her quandary? I mean if she had no option but to raise her siblings, what could she do? She must have had her own shares of struggles in the big bad city and how she became a tv actress. It must have not happened overnight right? Why was that never shown?Now when she comes back, she finds her love to be married. Feels betrayed at first and then, accepts the reality that may be 10 yrs was too long for someone to wait for her and tries to move ahead. Its not that easy as u said. Not especially, after she came to know from Sarita that raj is still waiting for her. Things must have become so simple for her. All she had to do was to ring him up! And she would be in his arms, and sarita out of their lives. Raj's family would have accepted Divya with open arms considering she was always their ideal CB! Her life would have been smooth like cheese!! However, Divya was never the selfish kind and she knew that, she cannot proceed ahead with Raj now because for the society he has got married to sarita! Why is divya doing this for sarita...what would she benefit? Infact it poses more risk...that she may not be able to distance herself from raj. She must steel herself to not fall weak and only then can she help sarita and raj to come together.

Plus these two lovers are of same kind as well. On one hand, Divya thinks that Raj should wait for her 10 yrs and then Raj also thinks how can Divya marry someone else when she knew that i am waiting for her! On finding out that divya is gonna get married, He did say something like "socha tha Raj aur Divya prem ki nayi daastan likhenge...etc" The waiting game confuses me a lot! Did he knew that Divya will return to him within some years? Not shown yet though! But yes he is distraught that she is getting married...when he too is married! Didn't he think that what if she did find out that he is married and hence is moving forward. These two think that the other person should not move forward without each other and if they did, they get angry. Well, its obvious when u are in love.

For me Raj is a puzzle right now. Because nothing of him as been revealed properly. Not even one proper dialogue from him. I need some flashback scenes...and not their romantic ones but the ones where they must have debated on going afar! Why did he stop Divya from going and even if she goes, can't he be in touch with her? The show must have been in 2003 and telephones and internet were much in use then right? Why to get married to someone else under family pressure!! So he got married under family pressure and then all the rest of the pressure is to handled by his bride? What sort of a mentality is that? Didn't he think once abt the girl? Better to anger your family once than to spoil an innocent life right?? But he does love Divya deeply, or else who waits for his love for 10 long yrs. So will his deep love for divya, let him forget her easily and let him accept sarita? 😕

Sarita: Why this lady chose to stay on for 10 yrs? There could be many reasons. Since this is a small town, may be she didn't want people to make talks and hence thought of trying to keep the marriage alive. May be she was scared that if she goes back, she may not get married again. But then, she was ready to go now? Again i am confused. Plus, she goes to divya and tells her that raj is still waiting for her. Wouldn't some sensible woman think that this move might bring the lovers together and throw her out of the radius all together? Confused again!

Hoping that i would get answers in the coming weeks, now that RaVya are in same house. So sparks may fly, emotions would reach the peak and answers would automatically come out in open!

what makes u think she wont do that Divya got Fame and money, and her family is stable and staff so she can afford to do it. Sariata she been stuck with animals for the past 10 ys. Divya had it easy. plus I bet money this Divya deep down she has her own selfish reason for going back. When she left Raj she should have told him to wait for her But she didn't she climbed on the train and left and expected things to be Fine
