Mugdha on her role as Sanyogita

Mugdha Chapekar who is playing young Sanyogita in Prithvi Raj Chouhan got the award for favourite Yogya Jodi along with her co-star Rajat Tokas at the Star Pariwar function

This young Padmini Kolahapure look-alike is a Mumbai girl and has graduated in English literature from Ruparel College. Ever since the shoot started Mugdha has been stationed in Baroda with her younger brother for company. This is not Mugdha's first serial. The actress had earlier done a couple of serials like Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi, Kya Mujse Dosti Karoge. She has also worked in films as a child star.
An interview:

How you got this role?

Basically I'm from Mumbai and I had gone to Baroda for the auditions. I have been acting from the age of 5. There were two girls who had come for the audition but in the end they chose me as young Sanyogita."

Do you belong to a film family?

"No I'm the first one in the family to come to films. Both my parents have regular office jobs. Since I was 5 I have been working. I have done many commercials. As a child artist I have worked with actors like Dharmendra, Prem Chopra. I have also worked with Sachin in the movie called "Aazmaiash".

Did you have to read up a lot before taking up the role of Sanyukta?

"No, but I was very happy to do this historical role which is strong and has lots of importance in history as it is connected to famous love story of Prithviraj-Sanyogit a. As my character has different shades as earlier she was very bubbly, very naughty but when she comes to know that she is in love with Prithvi that bubblyness goes and now she is mature princess.

How are your friends reacting to you as Sanyogita?

"Earlier they were very happy, but at the same time they miss me a lot as I'm shooting in Baroda for almost nine months. For certain actions they criticized me, but as an actress I'm accepting it."

Have you done any stunts in the serial?

"There are many stunts that I have done but the most memorable stunt was there last year in the month of December. In one scene I had to immerse myself in water at 4 in the morning. It was so chilling. Now I will be riding a horse for the first time and after that I will be falling in the deep valley and then Prithvi will come to save me. So the stunts are performed by me."

How many episodes are still remaining of young Sanyogita?

"I think another couple of months but I can't say exactly. It may be extended also. It depends upon the script.

How is your rapport with Rajat Tokas?

"He is very hard working, though he is 2 or 3 years younger than me, he is very professional, hungry for success. Among all the co-stars I have worked with I'm enjoying his company."

With whom are you staying in Baroda?

"My younger brother is with me, but sometimes my parents come during the weekends."

What is your plan post Sanyogita?

"After this I want to concentrate on my studies, so let's see. As I have done my graduation in English literature and my aim is to do post graduation in English literature. I like Shakespeare. "
