No, not necessarily...negativity of a character does not create an image of ugliness....indravati was not attractive at all in here...and ansuiya was also not pretty at all...in harry potter, belatrix was really bad but she was really beautiful even though she was really bad character wise...so no, character does not change view of a person's beauty...

and if as you say the princesses were not recognised by the common public, then the princesses would have been well protected and not allowed to roam about in the common markets (unless she is in disguise na) so this is definitely a blooper like the numerous others in this serial..
