Hey all
I couldn't update as I was very busy for the past few days

Since today was the last episode of PV so I had to make one final post on this forum !

So first things first :

A GOOD SHOW !

As a show PV was a really good show ! Well written characters, a tight script, grand sets, great costumes, high quality VFX and an ensemble comprising of brilliant actors!

FOCUS ON ALL IMPORTANT CHARACTERS AND NOT JUST THE LEADS

I often roll my eyes when I watch shows that revolve only around leads and they end up becoming very dull as rest of the cast stands behind like statues

Thankfully PV was different...characters like Tailap , Kalari , Jhakkala , Sulochana etc. Had really good screen space and were utilised well

American shows often untilze their ensembles well and here also same thing happened and I am so happy that makers utilized such good actors well rather than wasting their talents

I thoroughly enjoyed parallel tracks ! They were very entertaining! I loved them sometimes even more than the main tracks ! Complete credit goes to makers and actors!

ATTEMPT TO MAKE SOMETHING DIFFERENT !

Kudos to makers for trying to showcase something different...Rigth from the character sketch of leads to the story...everything was different

LEADS

We saw a lead girl who was not even a single bit similar to female leads of today...She was fierce , she was flawed , she was tough, she was grey ! Sonalrika was really good !

We saw a male lead who was soft, caring , an artist , a music lover , compassionate , even he had flaws..he was 'almost' perfect and this almost is what made him human and believable

Ashish did such a fab job !

GREY AND COMPLICATED PARALLEL CHARACTERS !

I always prefer complicated characters...characters who are right as well as wrong...whom we find difficult to place in a certain category of white , black or even grey

I love it when writing is this good...when characters are so believably flawed and human

I loved Tailap - He was such a conflicted and complicated character...He was a loving brother , He had compassion but he was someone who got easily manipulated..who had the habit of putting the blame of his own decisions on others...He was not a bad human being but a flawed one...I loved his character as he was so complex...He was neither white nor grey...He was simply a flawed human being
I loved how his character was written...I had seen some of his work before but here he really impressed me

And special kudos to Jitin Gulati who played the character to perfection
It is always difficult to portray a character like Tailap...such characters often don't earn people's sympathies and Jitin did such a phenomenal job...in my opinion Tailap was one of the most complicated characters of the show and Jitin nailed every emotion !

Jhakkala portrayed by Piyali again was complex...it was such a complex character and Piyali was brilliant...She played Jhakkala's pain ...anger...angst so well.

Kosha played by DIGYANGANA - She was again a grey character...someone who could have been easily misunderstood by many...kudos to Divyangana for taking up such a challenging role

SINDHURAJ PLAYED BY SUNIL - we saw a grey character get a redemption which was a nice change...Sunil was really good especially during Sindhu's breakdown

Other characters like Kalari , Sulochana , Bhoj , Vilas , Vasda , Rasnidhi, Singhdant , Guru Vinayaditya were really strong supporting characters played by strong actors

Negative characters like Satyashray and Vikrmjeet also held their ground..Ankit Arora did a good job and yunus was also improving...Kiran Kumar as subukdin was powerful!

Now when I have expressed my views about the actors , leads, parallel leads, story and positive aspects of the show so let me put across a few points which disappointed me

CHANNEL RUINED THE PROSPECTS OF THE SHOW ! PLUS OTHER DRAWBACKS !

PV really could have done wonders but channel politics ruined the show !

I always wanted this show to be a daily and not weekend show...slot was a huge drawback !

There were no proper promos

The ending was so abrupt and that is so disappointing !

Nothing really resolved apart from PriNal wedding which again was so damn rushed

Satyashray track...Bhoj-Vilas love story...Tailap-Kosha-Jhakkala triangle...Jhakkala's sudden redemption...there were so many loose ends and ending was not satisfying

The much awaited Afghan track ended being a phuski bomb

Towards the end VFX and overall quality was very avg

And the entire blame goes to Sony!

Sony literally ruined their own show !

PriNal love story I believe would have flourished and explored well if there was a season 2...all the other tracks would have continued if there was a season 2 and sadly there isn't a season 2 and hence the rushed ending without proper closure

I also feel makers could have explored PriNal...Tailap-Mrinal's bond more rather than making Jhakkala do repetitive stuff...even Tailap and Kosha did a lot of repetitive stuff and so did Mrinal and other characters which could have been avoided

I always wanted to see Mrinal being stuck between Tailap and Prithvi...I wanted the makers to explore Tailap and Mrinal's bond which never really happened

Mrjnal was always about hatred and anger...Tailap and Jhakkala's convos were repetitive...most of the characters did get monotonous which could have been avoided by exploring different dynamics.

I was also expecting a major battle sequence between Malwa and Manyakhet which again never really happened.

As a viewer m disappointed with the ending as it was rushed and so many tracks were left incomplete and the blame goes to the channel !

But over all PV was a good show ! It did try to break barriers and attempt something new ! It was indeed a GOOD ATTEMPT !

SO WELL DONE TEAM PV

People I really had fun warching this show and giving updates and analysis here on the forum..it was the first time I analysed and gave updates and I enjoyed it !

It was fun interacting with you all !

It was a good journey ! Quite interesting !

Farewell for now until we meet again in some other forum

😃

Hiya.. Was missing your posts and updates on the episodes.. Every time I come to the forum looking for your updates.. Without that I completely lost connect with the show and what's happening in it.. Glad to see your farewell post...
Yes, you said it.. It was a good attempt in the TV world.. But yeah definitely gone wrong in many ways. How I wish the characters were given enough depth and layers exploring multiple dynamics instead of being resigned to monotony.. How I wish things were done differently in the show.. let bygones be bygones..

Hoping the makers or new ones take inspiration from here to explore more of other historical characters and come up with more fictional depiction of some hidden and lost characters that have strength and values to spread some strong messages from Indian culture which still holds good for humanity in the modern world.. 😳

Hey
I tried to watch the episode and update but got really occupied hence didn't get time
Ya no point crying over the spilt milk now.
I really feel channel was very cruel with PV makers and the show got ruined partly coz of that
Totally agree...I hope makers will take inspiration and come up with such interesting historical characters.
Anirudh Pathak said that viewers connect with historical characters that they are aware about and hence PV was a risky subject as very few knew about him and hence from now on he will try to make shows on known historical characters
This is something I don't agree with...I for instance watched PV coz the characters and over all show intrigued me...I wanted to know about PV and other characters...this was a story I was unaware about and wanted to watch
I don't think audience only want to watch known historical characters...if this was the case then Anirudh Pathak's other show Chandrsdhekhar should have worked well but it didn't despite being a good show
I think audience would love to watch any historical show be it about known or unknown character if the show is made well and is interesting

I really don't want Anirudh to stop exploring about such seldom known interesting historical characters.
Over all as I said PV was a good attempt and it could have been so much better if the channel supported it
Anyway now what's done is done !

Loved reading your feedback ! Hopefully will meet in another forum

😊

Agree with you.. I too was more interested in knowing more about the characters Prithvi, Mrinal, Tailap, Singhdhat, Sindhuraj.. As rulers and what made them, the rulers that they were..Each one could've been an entity on their own, giving scope for their character build up, giving some variants and depth to instill the characterization in the audience mind and heart.. I so liked the first episode where Mrinal entry was so captivating and I definitely wanted to more about her.. And how contrast Prithvi was and what made Prithvi, Prithvi the peace lover and Mrinal the revenge lover.. Just one flashback for Mrinal wasn't enough.. The storyline could've jumped bwtween past and present for both the characters giving the depth to their layers.. What could've been a strong equals against each other in their own theories.. I will sure miss the show for what it could've been, in developing some wonderful characters alive from the past, amongg the audience..

The show started well, but then lost its way most likely due to channel's interference rather than any lack of control on the part of the director. In the end everything was hurried.

We had shows on Shivaji and Maharana Pratap which were cut short because of TRPs and these are well known characters, so its probably the content and its presentation that brings in the viewers. I was OK with the weekend slot mainly for the reason that TRP pressure would be less, that too for a show starting at 21:00. It's was a good attempt and I wished we would have got 6 more episodes for all the loose ends to be tied up.

I also liked the actor who played Mahakaai (don't know his name). Again not completely black, but very dark grey!!!

Yup more epis were needed to to wrap up the loose ends for sure

Ya forgot to put Mahakai - He was played by Ravi Khanvilkar and he did an amazing job...in a short span he left his mark.

TRP pressure was always supposed to be there coz PV was an expensive show

When many kept saying that since this is a finite show hence TRPs won't matter, I knew from the start that unless the show garners good TRPs it might get pulled off...PV was one of the very expensive shows hence it garnering good TRPs was essential for the channel

I am not at all happy with the way the show ended...the show, it's team and us viewers deserved so much better

Anyway it was a good effort nonetheless

😊

Hey Ashvi missed you so much 😊
Your updates every time had justified each episode ... Thou series ended unusually with many loose end's but I loved this series as it was a try to make something different

Actors played layered and complex characters like Jatin piyali ... Specific in this series was that they had kept it flawed not perfect ... That is the beauty of the show

I will miss this series but let's keep the forum alive and be in touch and keep meeting again 😊
