Mona vs. Archana

I LOVE the fact that Mona represents the true modern woman nowadays. That when you are having problems with money you do something about it. Like starting a business to help your family. Cutting back on expenses of everyone. I also like the fact that the elders automatically objected to the business at home scheme which is typical and REAL nowadays. More importantly the story showed that Mona didn't give up and used her intelligence and talents to SURVIVE in our world today.

Unfortunately, they totally destroyed the story of the character Archana of Pavitra Rishta. They killed the story line that Archana continued her studies, graduated and became a successful career woman. After getting married, she was never allowed to use her power to contribute to the family affairs. All that is left with Archana NOW is to wait for her husband to come home, even up to 4 a.m. (Really now!!! Who works till 4 a.m.?????) Why portray women like that?

Whereas the story of Mona now is rich with possibilities!!! She could become a successful designer. There could be disagreements as to how the business should be run. She could even give her father -in-law his own store! Pretty exciting stuff.

I agree with you. I watch both shows and I still love RMj wheras I am disappointed with PR now.

In RMJ they are showing Mona using her forte and intelligence to getting successful in her business, thus helping her husband and family financially. In PR Archana's education has gone down the drain so far and at the same time showing Manav with not much of an education being successful.
