Restarting Education: It's never too late to learn

Be it Gopi, Sandhya, Pratigya or Komal, our STAR Plus bahus have surpassed all boundaries of fear, to take a step further in education. We often hear excuses like "I don't have time", "It's too late" and "What will people say?" when it comes to restarting education. But as these ladies show us it's only too late if you never re-invent yourself at all.

Gopi: "It's never too late to learn"

Innocent and soft spoken Gopi from Saath Nibhana Saathiya was one of the first who dared to break all rules and go to school. Like Gopi there are many girls in the country who are denied even basic education and are forced to do household chores. Gopi says, "There have been many instances after marriage which compelled me to take education seriously. For example once I washed Ahemji's laptop which was embarrassing. I also made Mani ben take expired tablets, which could have been fatal. This incident in particular was an eye-opener and it forced me to go to school".

Pratigya: "You need to have a supportive family"

It was Pratigya's dream to study law, but the burden of marriage never allowed her to do it. With more responsibility, for her married life was never easy. Pratigya says, "You need the support of your family and more importantly of your husband to study post marriage. Initially, I suffered a lot as there were lots of disagreements between Krishna's family and me. But now, due to God's grace everything is fine and my family is encouraging me to pursue my dreams."

"You do it for the happiness of your loved ones", says Komal

Komal
was born in a family where education was never considered important. She realised early on that you can buy a degree with money but not knowledge. Komal from Mann Kee Awaaz Pratigya, decided to study to make Adarsh feel proud of her. Having attended tuition classes secretly, she says, "I wanted to write something good for Adarsh and surprise him on his birthday. I think education is the most important thing in a person's life as it gives him/her a new identity."

"Education is a pillar of success", says Sandhya

For Sandhya, education is religion and is an important pillar of success. She has always made her parents proud of her achievements. Being one of the brightest student in the STAR Plus fraternity, Sandhya's only dream is to make her maa-papa proud by becoming an IPS officer. "I wish there is some miracle and I fulfill Papa's dream," says Sandhya.

Many a times, our dreams take a back seat in the hustle and bustle of daily life. But it's never too late to restart education. What do you think? You can share your stories with us too.

welcome
Never thought marriage to be a burden.😕

When P was first married the Thakurs would never have allowed her to continue her education or even work they should have said because of the orthodoxed views of the thakurs P was unable to continue her education would have been better than using the word responsibility.

I would love them to show a K education but don't know when we will get it
