As a detached observer I have noticed that the rankings on the IF, Chaska Meter et al has nothing to do with the ground level popularity of the shows. The top ranking shows of India do not score very high on the IF merit list and vice versa. However shows that have a lot of romantic content are the ones which enjoy the most popularity on the net. Why is it so? Is it when we watch TV with our families we are more influenced by family matters, festivities, saas bahu sazish while when we are on the net, we are living out our romantic fantasies. Or is it because the differences in the TV watching habits of people living abroad( ones most virtually active) and those living in the heartlands of India where watching a show is more of a family time to bond together as compared to an individual activity as it is in the west.

As a person who straddles both the world, I find that the likes and preferences of people who influence the TRPs and those who are on the net, at times, do not confluence. The reason I am raising this issue is to see whether there is some kind of disconnect that actually exists and whether this forum can be made more homogenous wherein members could include feedback from their friends and relative and can make this forum's contents more exhaustive and inclusive.

Mlli on IF only dose shows gets high ratings which r full of romantic tracks, Have noticed on many forums where members just wanna discuss about romance bw/n d jodi, even if cv's of dat show r showing a greddy husband whoz only interested in his wifes money but still members want to see romantic scenes bw/n them...😕🤢

Coming to actors, acting is not the basis on which actors on IF are rated but their looks and hotness is d basis on which actors who r not doing fair job in terms of dere character are rated high.

It is really sad Pragati that at times there is so much to say but you cannot because no one would like to hurt somebody deliberately. Kriya is a great couple but people are also interested in family affairs and over all positive atmosphere like a celebration etc. In MKAP, the family dynamics has not changed even a wee bit right from the inception of the show. Except for P and K, none of the characters have moved a nano inch in fact they have regressed. Unlike members, TV viewers are very fickle when it come to loyalty.

Hi sharmila seeing u after a long time here. welcome back.Ya there is a stark contrast btw the rankings of serials in IF and the general popularity of the show. I think usually when we sit down 2 watch TV we take note of the content of the serial ,potrayal of characters by the actors etc whereas in IF its more of the romantic content discussed btw the members in most of the forums.

Sarcozee there is no relationship between IF rankings and general popularity of the shows and their TRPs. IF is a private web portal and each section or forum's activity is determined by how active and creative its members are, their ages and interests.

And yes online forums tends to represent more individualized and interest focused feedback's, that only represents a small segment of the viewers, that could be totally different from the views and likings of the versatile group of TV viewers spanning the entire out reach of the channels, hence the discrepancy!

You know as Indians we have this thing regarding our family relationships and that is one arena the CVs need to work on if they are looking for higher TRPs. Portraying Amma as a witch in kimono may bring kriya together but such a presentation of a maternal figure may offend many mothers in law who are watching the show with their family in tow. Show me one ideal bhai behen ka rishta in MKAP. I am pointing out these things not to nit pick but be of some help in this endeavour to help MKAP retain its lost glory. Show evil but also show their transformation or their comeuppance but don't let characters like Shakti and Komal still be what they were when the show began. Otherwise the characters and the show starts stagnating

In RED is exactly what has happened to this show, TRPs ( Targeted Rating Points) or GRPs ( Gross Rating Points) in a broadcast media such as Pratigya or IPL event, these two numbers TRP and GRP are the direct representation of the interest of companies to buy commercial spots during the show at frequent intervals, that most of us hate 😆.

These companies interest lessen because of the reasons you have very aptly explained in this thread. And most of the time production houses relax a bit once they achieve high TRPs during the early days of the show and fail to work hard on the content that would attract a vast and diverse group of audiences, and many a times they turn the majority of viewers off by constantly showing negativity and degradation of key figures like mothers, MILs, FILs thus scaring the advertizes to stay away, fearing a backlash from that segment of the society, resulting in the loss of TRPs,

In MKAP's case turning Ammaji's character positive will help with TRPs, not the cozy love scenes of the lead pair for the reasons well explained by you in your first post in this thread.😊

well me don,t know u exactly bt have seen u for me 1st time bt as all said welcome back to the forum and after ur back i found ur posts r brilliant i really loved it it,s really will make anyone thinks in deep well i agree wid u as everyone wants to c their fav couple always together and always chat about romance bt according to me not always just romance bt wants to c their journey going way we want them together in every good and bad situation in every turn of their life how they handle it😊
